got these the other night...took just a group in to do the plate cycle in kael...had a war, pally, ranger, shammy, cleric, and druid...we spent about 2-3 hours there and 2 corroded legs dropped and boots...used these to replace my blood runed greaves until i get my ss legs =)

While thurg is just like the warm up armor lol.
Actually .. you want good resist for ToV. We main tank the mobs in ToV, so the AE is what does most of the damage to me(im not main tank). I take off a good amount of my high AC gear for resist gear when im there. Want fire/cold to be *at least* 150.
Just got them last night, has same look as Guardian armor and Crystal Chitin. I in fact have a mix of those 3 types of armor and they all have the same graphic pre-SoL.
Gems also Drop in Dragon Necropolis, Sirens Grotto, Velketors Labyrinth as well as Cobalt Scar as far as I've seen.
These pants own, but I'm keeping my Guardian pants around for the 15svCold 15svFire
I just got done doing a Kael raid and killing giants in the arena... and let me tell anyone that thinks they should wait out and get the kael armor before this thurg armor, which is champions. Kael armor is much harder to get than the champions and if this is true, im going to want to be very well equipped as a warrior to even step foot in ToV. The giants we were killing would hit for 360 damage per hit, and when they would start to rampage, every hit you would land on him while standing in front of him, will cause him to riposte on you. Case in point, your fast little lammies arent that great looking when you see your hp's drop from 3600 to 0 in ruffly 5-6 seconds. With some good armor and armor buffs you can get these attacks greatly reduced though, I average a hit of bout 100+, that factors in the times they miss. Taking down one giant is a fight and then when you get 2 on you, and a 3rd pops in over your casters heads, it can lead to some major floor redecoration. I was in a raid with 3 groups, and i wasnt the main tank so i didnt take the brunt of the attacks, but i do remember seeing the MA tank going berserk about 3 or 4 times a guy when there was 2 or 3 guys on us. We consistantly pulled giants for ruffly 4 hours that i was there, not much down time except when one of our clerics died and had to wait a couple minutes to rez him and wait for him to med, but other than that, we killed lots of these guys. The armor peices needed for the quest are very rare. Considering how many giants we killed, and only 2 peices dropped, id say these armor pieces are something to be treasured, and needed to get anything a step above this. Im glad theyre no drop to, cause nobody deserves this good of armor without working for it and ultimatly willing to die for it. Im really hoping that verant upgrades the stats to these pants, even though they are supposedly "easy" to get in comparison to kael armor, they are still very much time consuming peices to get, and take a lot of know how on the part of the guild doing the raid. Now that ive probably frightened half the people looking at this, ill have to say it is actually quite fun ;) must just be the warrior blood in me, but getting that CH with a mear 63 hp left when the mob is hitting you for 100+ is a rush of no other in everquest. happy hunting everyone.
For everyones info they only rampage once they start to get low on life. At that point all melee should STOP attacking for duration of the discipline. The nukers should continue to nuke. The MA should have done enough damage that casters will not gain aggro, and the disc is short duration so as soon as it runs out melee start swinging again.
Correction, this can happen at any time during the fight. One nasty giant actually started rampaging as soon as the MT engaged him last night in the arena.
Enrage is what happens when the mob auto-ripostes every frontal attack, not rampage (which is a different sort of special attack).
When a mob enrages, anyone who is facing the mob needs to turn off auto attack, lest they see their hps fade quickly. The MA should just mash his/her taunt button until the mob is no longer enraged- then engage again as normal. As long as you pay attention, enrage is not a problem.
actually rampage is a AoE swing on anyone who has ever hit it, if yer in range u get hit.
BTW was killing there the last few days an let me say this, u have to CLEAR THE WHOLE zone to get armor to drop (arena this is)
one night we got tons, the next we get none, the next we got some. /shrug dunno i have vambracers, bracer, boots (did have helm from a friend messed up on mq now gone =( ) an i should have greaves from another friemd. Overall a super fun zone , i am now ally to coldain an it shouldn't be to mucb longer till i can walk away smiling cause i also have ally CoV faction =)
The gems are droped in Cobalt Scar off the Wyvern's. You need three Flawed Sea Sapphires. The drops are random and it will take you some time to get all three hunting in the zone. Don't expect to get all three in one day.
hehe i got em at last, its like plate and on a human female very nice. its silver with only very few gems, and it just looks great, never seen anything like this before. much better than berserker greaves
anyone know the look and color ? is it like plate? because berserker does look very mmhhh ya know what i mean, nearly nobody likes it, and its more like some sort of chain :(
Can't we get info on the components. where they are how hard are they to get. less info on what class can wear (since it's in the info already). thanks

thats not entirely true about kael being best, SS is definately better for casters, and alot of people think its better than kael, cuz after you have 1200ac, each single point doesn't mean near as much. Kael has ****** stats too, so if you aren't everyones little la-di-da ogre/troll/barbarian warrior, and you tried to be original, go with SS armor. And most guilds are on dragon faction, so you won't be doing kael armor anyway.

certain types of armour that are classes as plate are iksar wearable, the no plate thing is more of a roleplay reason for limiting iksars choices in armour department. (verant dont want to many iksars runing around with 1300ac i guess)
I play an Iksar warrior on Bertoxx. Am I disappointed that we don't get these? A little, but one, the limited amount of time I play I will probably never see the levels required to get these, and two, I chose an Iksar knowing we couldn't use certain types of armor. You chose the Iksar. Either deal, or delete him/her and start a new race. I can't stand to see people talking about getting shafted when they know full well what it is they are getting into.

Yes you are stupid. Not because of the armor you have, but because you are calling people idiots for speaking their mind. Yes I am an Iksar, and yes I love it. But I knew, like my original post said, that there were some limitations to playing this race, and so should everybody who chose/chooses to play an Iksar. Verant doesn't owe you a thing, but I am sure that there is either something out there that is similar or equivalent that is Iksar wearable. So stop your whining and name calling until you have a legitimate beef with someone.
Well I am suprised that now one has decided to mention this yet so let me give you all a little insight about the iskar warrior race. No we don't get to wear much of anything as far as plate armor goes there is some but not a lot. But the real advantage to it is that we do get like the monks a ac bonus to help compensate for this for example a BS tunis is ac 18 but to a iskar with the bonus cap it is more like 28 which is a far cry better than any other race that tries to equip it. I can't remeber where I saw the calulator that did the ac bonus for you on armor but it is out there and was the main reason that I made a Iskar warrior. For no more money than we spend on armor to get our ac up there it is relativlly cheap compared to most. Just thought I would stop the bickering that is going on about why Iskars are getting screwed do some background work on the race before you make comments on them thanks.

Damnit, why do people who know NOTHIGN about what they are talking about insult others and pretend to have an idea of what they're doing.
