I read a strat for going to the hole via skydiving to master yael's room. In it, it suggests that clerics, necros, SKs and pallies get on their invulnerablility and jump down, then have a mage jump down and die, rez the mage, than have the mage CotH other group members, having the group leader up top to keep cycling in new peeps for CotH(this of course only work if master yael isn't up). Seems to me if you have one of these, 50pp is well worth the hop down. Saves you a rez, let's you hang onto your mana with no rez effects, and you've still got your KEI or whatever without having to CotH a chanter down first.
I dunno, never tried it. Highest mage in my guild doesn't even have CotH yet so what do I know. This just seems ideally suited to that purpose, and I quite honestly think a 50pp get-outta-jail-free-card is pretty damn awesome. Yeah, you can be stunned still, but I think you've got a much better chance of getting a gate off even so.

just browzing through some items and thinking to my self... what if that was a worn effect? <drool> LOL. sorry just had to throw that out there. still a very nice ring if you have a back pack full of mana battery V's

according to magelo this ring cons as (duennan shielding ring class 5), I'm guess that means its rechargable with a class 5 battery, can anyone that actually has this confirm it? And how muhc are class 5 batteries?
It is rechargable with a Class V mana battery, which will run you ~50pp.

If u recharge it w/ a mana battery you gotta get yourself a tinkering kit and put the battery and item in it and hit combine BOOM! recharged

I agree. Although, that harmshield could come in handy in a tight spot, but its still not worth it.

No rumor. I have extensive experience with Harmshield. No spells or spelleffect will take hold when this spell is in effect. You cant be healed (unless it is something like Bond of Death where it is healing over time that was cast before the harmshield), you cant be summoned (COH), and when my group evaced, i watched them fade away.

But it is a PoA item which probably means it's rechargable with a Mana Battery bought on the first island in the Plane.

You can buy mana batteries from the gnomes in Iceclad Ocean as well. This is probably meant to provide that harmshield WHEN you need it and then you recharge it during downtime.
IMHO this is a great item and on a PvP server it would be reeealy great. Saving a spell slot is always a good thing.
If the casting time is zero then it would be an awesome mana dump-harmshield-wait for tanks to regain aggro item.

What effort? Not like you are gonna camp sky for 3890 hours waiting for the right drops.. Chances are if you are doing Sky for epics or whatever, you will get tons of quest drops anyway. This ring kicks ***, I wish I had one. 30 mana alone makes a good ring, doofus. Harmshield rocks, and you can buy the mana batteries in velious to recharge it.. did I mention Harmshield rocks?

I thought it was GREAT til i seen 1 charge, lol but what do ya expect for mages.
