The earth mastery staff does work post 50, I tried it with my dirtball, he hit for around 54 without it , and with I had him wacking things for 58's and 60's , Im not makeing this up, Thats the only reason I haven't turned in all my element of earth parts of my epic, because I want to keep makeing bad **** dirtballs:)

I Saw Quillmane last week and i didnt know what it was for so i killed with my shaman friend and looted some cloak thingy. i didnt kknow what it was for untill i was told it was for mag epic ) oh well too bad im a warrior but i still have it and the proc it has.

Took me a long year to get my cloak, then this Shaman friend of mine that just barely started playing everquest and was wondering around SK killing and saw Quillman and wanted to know what it was, then killed it, then looted the cloak... Go Figure!
But yes, MQ'able for sure,, All Epic 1.0 items are. (1.5 and 2.0 are not MQ'able).

One of the items involved in this quest is the Crown of Elemental Mastery, which drops off mobs on the Seventh Island in this Plane. Seeing that this crown is also used in the Orb of Mastery quest (more specifically, in obtaining the Element of Air), I don't think that people will use the crown for obtaining this Staff. Unless, of course, crowns are dropping commonly in the Plane of Air, which I seriously doubt. :)

Ok how do you get the epic quest item(strongest weapon). I do not know do you like combinded all the staffs of elemetal mastery to get it or what plz answer.

The item us mages get is actually a spell called summon orb. It summons an uber item that in turn, summon the most powerful pet in the game. Very nice item, ranks among the best epics out there.

Magician epic is the longest epic in the game. go to Eq.castersrealm.com forms for the full details. ( this quest includes camping Quillmane a completely random spawn and camping 2 rare turn in spawns, its VERY VERY hard and is almost impossible under level 55 i've heard )
saying it is impossible below 55 is just dumb. almost everything in the epic is MQable. so if u have the money or have nice friends. u can get it MQ'd. also, alot of items are dropable and u could buy or again get from friends. and of course the old fasion way. get your guild to help.

Staffs of Elelmental Mastery are very nice items they make pet hit for up to 60 dmg. The way you use the staff is you hold it in hand cast pet put normal gear back on. This item is NOT fake it has been in game since plane of sky has been created quit complaing about the effect or dmg del Mage dont mele any way. Just use it put back in bag put normal gear on simple to do here is quest for those clowns who think its fake.
After talking to Magi Frinon, you talk to Roanis Elindar to get this. You need some Sweet Nectar, a Crown of Elemental Mastery, a Large Diamond and a Djinni's Stave.

This quest isnt even worth doing if you want your epic item, the same crown in air is used for both this quest and the air part of the magician epic quest...so dont waste the crown on this staff :)

Oh this thing is horrible. Dude its a FOCUS item. Makes your pet better. Who cares about the effect. Stop whining. You shouldnt even be meleeing by the time you can get this anyway.

For those who don't have their epics yet, they can obtain these to get better pets. Earth is from fear or hate, water is from KK, don't remember where fire is from. It's the same as the other staves.

I wish people would follow their own advice. Proclaiming something to be "fake" does nothing, except make you look like a "know it all". It does not help the site, nor does it provide any useful information.
Saying something is fake is saying that you have proved something to not exist. Proving that something does NOT exist is infinitely more difficult than proving something does exist. To prove it is fake, you would need to kill every mob and complete every quest in the game and show that none of them produce the given item. To prove that it does exist just requires one example.
People who claim things to be fake are people who think they know every. It does absolutely nothing to help other people or help this site.

the crown used FOR the epic is part of this quest, tho the guy who said it is fake is a moron because it is real and has been around for a long time now. But only someone with the epic would get this, unless they happened to have an extra crown for some reason.

Welp, It seems Verant decided to make me eat my words.. The Elemental Staff of Fire DOES exist, now.. the lastest patch which revamped the planes included a new drop (you figure out where :P).
Now all four staves ARE in fact ingame. Only Earth and water are needed for the Epic however.
Also, unless they changed it, the Staves DID work on post 50 pets, I used to use my water staff regullary and noticed a difference (easy to tell since a jboot like speed buff is given to the pet). That was a long time ago however, and i've since turned in the staff for the Epic, and they might have changed it.. However according to the spell database there "IS" some sort of focus item still avail for post 50 pets, perhaps they changed it, but it still looks the same from when I made my own tests.

Also note, a magician with the epic, would NOT ever waste time to get this. Why would a magician who can summon the "master of elements" pet want to get a focus staff that doesn't even work on post-50 pets =P.
My friend is a 54 magi and all the other magicians in his guild confirm that focus items (including the staves of elemental mastery) do not work on post-50 pet summon spells (i.e. vocarate and greater vocaration)

the comment that the elemental staffs of mastery DONT work on pets above lvl50 must be wrong. Otherwise what is the bloody point of having them - for 2 levels????
I doubt Verant want me to kill a couple of Gods so I can use a focus item for a very short period of time until i get out of lvl50........

ActuallY the Staff of Elementary : Fire does exist, we had it drop on Rodcet Nife about 2 months ago in the plane of Hate off of a Male forsaken Revnent. I Understand this to be extremmly rare and more of a "collectors items" I guess you would say. One of my guild's mages looted the staff and still has it to this day. I on the other hand passed up on looting this staff because the Magi P Tasa was up, and since his drop rates where upped, I gladly looted the Earth staff which I still use to this day when soloing. Dont say something doesnt exist if you really dont know what your talking about. I mean it only shows your pure moronicy.

just to remind you when these staffs were put in game 50 was the highest attainable level since they were pre RoK =)

I have the staff of elemental mastery: earth, and it does not work on post 50 pets( earth included). It would be nice if the staves of mastery would work on post 50 pets, then my staff would be equipped rather than taking up a general slot for a insta-cast reclaim energy

Sure it would be nice if it also had some cool effect instead of Reclaim Energy, but that's not really important. Most mages will probably whip it out to summon a pet, but leave it in the bag the rest of the time, preferring to wield some stat gear in each hand.

I can tell you - maybe get something worthwhile? This is a level 1 spell as you all know and now we have 9 (count them 9) quest items that cast a level 1 spell. Isn't this great?

did you not read the part where it said "mage focus item"? This is not an item you will be wielding all the time, this is an item you will hold while summoning post 50 pets. If you have played a mage past 50 you will no this is NOT a horrible item.
