Any one know if it can be multied?
RE: multiquest
# Dec 03 2001 at 7:33 AM Rating: Default
Yep, got offered the MQ for an RBG, but I was lv 37. :)

Still gotta be lv 55 to get the helm, MQ or not, so by then you should have a good enough guild to do quest without MQ.
where's the wis?
# Nov 20 2001 at 6:47 PM Rating: Default
Why do they keep making ranger stuff without wis on it? The paly's stuff gets wis, the sk stuff gets int, the bard stuff get chr or int. I know most woodelf ranger don't care much about wis since they come with naturally higer wis scores, but there are a lot of us half ranger around who NEED more wis. Frankly, i don't give a crap about stamina once its above 100. The amount of hp we gain from having more points of stamina is laughable and i really don't get hit much in battle. But some more wis would certainly let me dot, dd and jolt more often in battle not to mention bettering my soloing ability.
RE: where's the wis?
# Dec 03 2001 at 8:56 AM Rating: Decent
You take the time to DoT in a fight ??

By the time you cast the spell, how much damage could you haves already done ?

Me know the average hit with each weapon me use and it nots worth the time for me to wait to cast the spell unless me use it for pullin.
RE: where's the wis?
# Jan 15 2002 at 2:55 PM Rating: Decent
And for rangers, as other hybrid classes, spell casting doesn't interupt your melee times, they work indepentdantly. I get a couple of rounds in with my SK while casting some of my spells.
RE: where's the wis?
# Jan 07 2002 at 12:54 AM Rating: Decent
You DoT as the puller brings the mob back.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 03 2001 at 8:28 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) WTF man. Verant lets all the other classes get their Velious Class specific helms except Karana Rangers. What the hell is that about? We get punished for defending our homeland of the Plains, thats ********* They need to have a Karana Helm Quest if they are gonna limit this to Tunare.

They are probably waiting to add Karana herself to the game to give you your helm ...
RE: Karana gets Shafted
# Nov 22 2001 at 10:13 AM Rating: Decent
not every class/diety gets armor to themselves, so dont feel left out. The God of PoG is tunare so it makes since why the quests from there are tunare only. stop all the whinning on items you cant ever use and find something you can.

Karana alwaays gets shafted Verant like tunare more Karana is like Tunare's ******* child.
RE: Karana gets Shafted
# Oct 07 2001 at 6:07 AM Rating: Decent
It comes from Tunares home the plane of growth, so it makes perfect sense that a ranger of Karana cant use it, maybe if they make a plane of rain or the sort you can get all the karana stuff your little heart desires

# Aug 23 2001 at 6:11 AM Rating: Decent
Do you have to be 55th lvl or is this like most other posts and 55th is just the recommened lvl? Im a low 50s ranger and might get some people together soon to collect heads just wondering if i should wait til Im 55th to turn them in.

You will not get the quest under 55 ... and most importantly .. you will not receive the Helm if you are not an outrider ..

On Lanys this is referred to as the alien helm. It's really imo not that hard to get. With a monk the 3 giants can be split/peeled and the overseer isn't too big a deal.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 29 2001 at 12:02 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) how much is this worth
#REDACTED, Posted: Jul 01 2001 at 2:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) umm, it's no drop you twit
RE: how much
# Jul 01 2001 at 2:05 AM Rating: Decent
well, considering that it's no drop and comes from a semi-hard quest, I'd say nothing. Sorry, can't twink yourself with it

#REDACTED, Posted: Nov 25 2001 at 6:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah, it's no drop, but no drop things can be MQed...was offered the MQ of this for my RBG, approx value 30-40k...but I was lv 36, so no go. :)
#REDACTED, Posted: Jun 29 2001 at 11:59 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) well i like it it is probably the best helm in the game but wut is it worth like 50k?
Nice.....
# Jun 19 2001 at 7:54 AM Rating: Default
Permanent ultravision and see invis, that'd be enough for me, but the 12 str and 20 ac is nice too....
The Helm
# Jun 16 2001 at 4:39 PM Rating: Default
I am a Half elf Ranger of Tunare and I only wear the helm bc/ it has good stats. The helm looks sooo bad like an aztec helm, but I did get half a blue bubble exp off the quest at 59 was a nice suprise. It looks sweet on wood elves tho. The 3 giants in Kael are hard need a really good group 55 plus or 2 groups of average quality to kill the 2 right next to each other. the last head is the overseer in WL and I couldnn't solo him at 59 maybe if there was a cleric with me coulda done it, so my guild had to come help. He is a very long spawn - Took me 3 days of camping about 6 hours a day before I saw him.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 19 2001 at 7:55 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I believe everyone wears items for their stats, maybe not though.
RE: The Helm
# Jun 29 2001 at 11:32 AM Rating: Decent
If I could, I'd still wear leather armor and a cloth cap. But, since I like to go places and not die instantly, I've settled for a nicely coordinated set of Ivy and Faydark Ringmail armor. And with a Ry'gorr chain coif, there's not "hat" graphic, so my wood elf doesn't look entirely stupid.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 08 2001 at 9:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) phool u have no graphic cuz u prolly either dont have velious or you didnt download the velious patches
RE: The Helm
# Aug 17 2001 at 2:41 AM Rating: Decent
actually Ry'gorr helm has no graphic at all. Never did and never will.
Frost Giant Overseer
# Jun 11 2001 at 1:06 PM Rating: Default
I'm looking for more info on Frost Giant Overseer, such as his spawn rate and how hard he is from the people who have seen him before or done the quest.
Thank you.
RE: Frost Giant Overseer
# Mar 11 2002 at 8:45 PM Rating: Decent
The Frost Giant Overseer is tough (Lots of HP's), though a good group of six can take him out w/o too much trouble.

The group I had consisted of a 60 Warrior, 53 Cleric, 54 Monk, 52 Druid, 53 Pally, and me (54 Ranger). The Overseer was single pulled w/o a problem by the monk. He was by the house directly in from of the Keal enterence w/ the Laborors (not sure if he spawns in different places within this area).

This guy is definetly not as tough as the Zek's in Keal. The Warrior got arrgo, druid chain dotted I think b/c she was oom by the time it had 1/3 of its hps left. Pally, Monk, and I were beating on it, cast immolulate 3 times which he didn't seem to mind cept one good wack at the end. We didn't try to slow him so cleric was oom and pally LoH'd at very end, all on Warrior (LoH was a precauction more than anything). He did Enrage for like 5 seconds at the end, but was doing just to try to disengage.

I was glad he was up after reading about his spawn time, b/c we were otw to the Areana anyway for some fun:)

Kael and WL
# Jun 01 2001 at 3:24 AM Rating: Default
Ummm...3 of the heads are taken from Kael up by the arena. Only need to take one head from WL.
#Anonymous, Posted: May 26 2001 at 5:48 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok I am not sure but this is what i hear. Tell me if you tink this is gay. plane of growth is tunare and druids and rangers are KOS ........ make sense NO, plus i hear that you lose faction from elves in there from kills now is that gay or what.
RE: LAME!~
# May 26 2001 at 10:48 AM Rating: Default
/sigh

The QUEST starts in Plane of Growth but there is no killing to be done in there, therefore no faction hits. All the killing takes place in Kael Drakkel, its all giants, therefore, once again, being beneficial to elves.

Actually, the killing doesn't really take place in Kael Drakkel, but it does involve killing all sorts of giants in Wakening Lands in the Kael area.
RE: LAME!~
# Jun 07 2001 at 12:32 AM Rating: Good
Actually 3 of the 4 heads DO come from killing giants in Kael. Only 1 head comes from WL.

anyone know how to change the look of the helm? I have heard you can change it to look like normal helm
40% ??
# May 07 2001 at 9:22 AM Rating: Default
Also 40% disadvantage for being a hum/ranger what is that, i never heard of that could someone explain?
#Anonymous, Posted: May 07 2001 at 9:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a human Ranger of Tunare, so from what i have read, trying to cut thru the bull. I am under the impression that being what i am i can't where this helm? Also what is this flethcing skill for wood elfs, this is the first time i have heard anything of the sort about this. If you could help me with these questions it would be appreciated. Also why do some say that human rangers have drawbacks over a woodelf? i am under the impression that it has to do with various factions?
RE: clear up some ??
# May 09 2001 at 1:45 AM Rating: Decent
Human rangers that follow Tunare CAN wear the helm. Look at the class/race listed on the item and you will see that. Human rangers are at a disadvantage only in that they are night blind, other than that there isn't much difference besides a few small points in stats.

Thes mask of Deception and Guise of deceriver one is all all with effect darkelf so that darrk elf/ranger must of had one of these masks
hmmm...
# Apr 26 2001 at 11:16 PM Rating: Default
Well I have collected all the heads and am of sufficient level, now my dilemna is, where does this mob spawn at? I have been all over the zone and still haven't seen it on track or by sight. Anyone got any info?
RE: hmmm...
# May 31 2001 at 10:51 PM Rating: Default
Go up to the Plane of Growth, and look on your tracking for Tunarean Earthmelder. I picked it up from the zone in area. It looks like a great big Erollisi Bloodthorn, from over in the Trakanon's Teeth/Emerald Jungle zones, and I had to get very close to it before it would answer the hails.
WOW, amazing
# Apr 18 2001 at 6:26 PM Rating: Default
All I can say is wow, this helm is the best. thanks God I'm a woodelf ranger and Tunare, my friend is a human follower of karana, now i laugh, who has the better str now. Not to diss any of the human rangers, I just hate my friend for insulting us elves.

Is there any ranger on the Morell-Thule server who has this helm? IF so can you send a tell.

I would like to know by anyone who has done the quest, if the quest is hard, like the forest stalker's quests, or harder, and if there is a website where I can find the walkthrough of the quest. Thank You

Darkelf wearing it
# Apr 08 2001 at 3:17 AM Rating: Decent
I was in a GM event today in Kaesora and saw a dark elf (guessing it was guise of the deciever) wearing one, let me just say holy god the helm looks sooo sweet on Darkelves, I'll try to get a screen here asap
RE: Darkelf wearing it
# Apr 10 2001 at 1:31 PM Rating: Default
How can a ranger use a mask of deception, its a rogue and bard item? Although I heard at one time it (the mask) was an all all item.
RE: Darkelf wearing it
# Apr 16 2001 at 10:29 AM Rating: Default
He didn't say mask of deception, he said guise of the deciever, totally different item.

Personally, I think the reason there are so many things that cast Illusion: Dark Elf is because everyone knows DE's look the coolest in anything...
RE: Darkelf wearing it
# May 15 2001 at 3:04 PM Rating: Default
i saw a dark elf BARD wearing one, well it wasn't the same but same look, i knew he was a bard cus' he had a singing short sword and he used his MoD to turn into a DE and it looked like a spider going up his face freaky cool

RE: Darkelf wearing it
# Jun 11 2001 at 11:12 AM Rating: Decent
Actually the mask of deception was at one point a mask that all classes and races could wear. But it was early in the game and they changed it so that the drops now are only for bard and rogues. There are still a few who have the ones from before that patch. I know a lvl 60 cleric who has one.
RE: Darkelf wearing it
# Jun 18 2001 at 3:24 PM Rating: Default
actually it was clickable from the inventory.
RE: Darkelf wearing it
# Dec 24 2001 at 4:34 PM Rating: Decent
Yeah, thats exactly right. I can confirm that, because I have one :) My level 52 warrior (Stak) Has the guise, and I can right click and become a DE anytime I want. Pretty cool I think :)
