I initially dismissed this bracer when the wristband dropped. It has bad stats and a spell I've never cast, but since we were gonna let it rot, I was like "what the hell" and grabbed it for the clicky. Reclaim energy has been surprisingly useful. A lot of the time, you know your pet is about to die or you need it to die. This takes a second to cast and returns 500 mana for your pet at 60 (with no focus items on mangler during velious). That's 5/7ths the cost of summoning a new pet and well worth the 1 second casting time.
Considering the Lvl you have to be to actually obtain these the are not very good.
The effect reclaaim energy will most likely never be used, I myself being a necro never used it.
The saves are incredibly small and remember the higher the lvl you are the more decent gear you want and only 2INT lol nm about that now that the INT cap has been raised from 200 to 250 these items are not worth the trouble.
I got the silk drop last night in Kael Arena and I'll take this over the Twilight Sea bracer I currently have: I lose 1 INT, but gain 15 HP and a bunch of saves. However, I wouldn't trade it for the Bracer of Woven Grass on the other wrist (Spell Haste on Feign Death has probably saved my life a few times so far :)).
A PBB has +3 int, +3 wis, and some effect that stopped at level 20 spells. Sure, you lose 1 int, but you gain 20 hp, a few resists, and 5 dex. I'd definately take this over a pbb.
decent ac, saves, hitpoints, dexterity, and a spell you cast all the damn time all wrapped into one. I know any of you would do the quest if you had the drop so dont lie.
think i'll stick with my flayed skin for wrist cause it and a sepentine are way better stats and..don't think i have ever (but once when i first got it) casted reclaim energy i guess when your 60th level it would be worth it to cast it to get mana back when you are logging for the day or somethin(wouldn't really understand any other reason)but than again at 60th level you can get the better ones...like i'm really going to go do a hard a$$ quest to get these and then do another hard a$$ quest to get ones almost identical 5 levels later than again do a hard a$$ quest another 5 level later to just to get a few more ac and stats..looks to me it would be easier to spend the week leveling and then just get the better ones.
LOL guessing your about lvl 8 you prolly have no clue about how nice and handy this effect really is, im lvl 56 and i have the 56 monk pet right now. I cast the pet its green so instead of unmeming one spell meming this one and then unmemming it again and replacing it i simply right click my bracer not to mention it costs 550+ mana per pet so instead of losing 550+ mana per cast i get a lil back with this. i do have the ss version which has slightly better stats but still the effect on this item alone makes it that much better then the serpentine or flayed skin not to mention it has resists and hp's.
I was just curious, but at the top where it says the items' stats, it says that you need to be 45 in order to get the item. But when you go to the quest part, you need to be level 50 to do the quest.
You see on the side menu under quests? At the very bottom of the Quests Lists, it says Velious Armour. Go there, it says where all the quest armor & gems are dropped.
Provided you can afford a blue diamond bracer, or a blue diamond for that matter *scowls at Verant for dashing her smithing dreams*. Meanwhile, I have enough gems to get this braclet, just need the silk. By the way, I have the Encyclopedia, it gives no stats whatsoever, just summons a bigger, stronger, faster, stupider pet.

uhm..your wrong. i have this bracer and the point of it is that once you get higher lvl, summong blue pets gets old. Summon pet, green, click bracer...summon pet, green, click bracer...

Are you kidding me? As you may or may not know, once you reach the soft cap of 200, intellegence is no longer important to mana. At level 50, for instance, for each point of int you have, you get 10 mana, up to 2000 mana. After 200 int, each point of int gives 1 mana. These bracers give bonuses to all saves, which is NEVER a bad thing, additional HP, also NEVER a bad thing, ESPECIALLY for us Necromancers, dexterity for the few of us that melee, and higher AC than most wrist pieces! Also, what you may not realize, is that with Reclaim Energy, you regain mana equal to half the cost of casting your pet. That is why it seems useless at low levels, as you almost break even. Not worth it? Please, don't even kid like that.
For the time and effort to get this item i'd Much rather go for a more useful item like a Blue diamond Velium Bracer. This is a good resist item. no int but 9 on all resists and 11 on resist cold...
and before people start going on how expenisve it might be.. if you are in the position to get the warlock bracer.. you can afford/aquire the blue diamond. and for the reclaim energy.. i'll just mem it when i try to get a good pet.
No wonder people like you use the anon flag, as only children like you can't understand or appreciate a good item when you see one. Sure, few, if any Necromancers, melee, but the real benifit of these wristguards are the HP and the + to all saves. ALL saves. Granted, AGI would have been better than DEX, but still, these are grand for those of us who, like me, have an INT (in game and in RL :p ) over 200.

While I agree that no necro should be in melee, unless you are trying to get your Over There port hammer to proc, this is a nice item.
The point Sin makes about the int cap is a valid one, the AC, Dex, HP's, and saves (which may be spread out but total 7 points) make this item very nice.
This is definatly one of the best well rounded caster wrist peices (think of the effect as a side bonus), there are beter, just not that many (and not every necro can wear flayed :P).
This item is definatly in line with all the other quest wrist pieces (int casters that is), and only a fool or someone decked out in god/dragon loot would say that this quest was not worth doing.
Peace Out

...but no. You can cast Reclaim Energy on a charmed pet, but it wont do anything at all. On that note, you CAN cast Intensify/Augment Death on the pet and get the successful cast emote (a lesser ice shade's eyes gleam with maddness(sic))
I don't know but does this seem a bit low on everything to anyone else? I mean I didn't pursue my necro too far post 50 and it is nice to have a point in everything but um... 1pt?
Ya, give them enough time, and you may rival magicians in the sheer number of ways to reclaim those low lvl pets. As for the stats, they seem inline with the rest of the velium quest stats. Tyna the Elementalist
Do these items act as focus items for necromancer pets? I remember once upon a time necromancers were big into asking for this, since magicians got focus items with the relatively easy quests in the Temple of Solusek Ro. It may be worth noting that the Effect on all the Magician focus items was Reclaim Energy.
Nay, we have but one focus item, the Encyclopedia Necrothurgia. I was lucky, Innoruuk was popped 3 times on that raid (multiple Verant patches), and on his second pop, he dropped 2 books. Being the only Necro in Hate, I looted it unchallenged :)
Stick with it, you'll get your book. Very few, if any, Necromancers actually go to Hate. More importantly, since it drops off of Innoruuk, it'll stay on his corpse for 30 minutes. Most guilds raiding Hate are probably not going to have a Necro with them, so if you ask the raid leader, they might let you loot it, unless someone else beats you to it.
