I miss the old school days when this looked like a white and glowing, transparent scimitar.
Remember when my necro ran around with this, uber item.
would buy one today on my nec alt but new look is horrible therefor no z-heart and instead i ran and got me Scythe of Sundering at lvl 5 :P

this item no longer has the effect regen on it anymore i just got one today and its not on there however there is a regen+5 on it =). so be warned when u decide to buy or farm for it!

Globe of Dancing Light
has the same solid blue glow (does not blink) with the particle effect. This might be slightly darker, not sure because I didn't have a Z-heart to compare.
Good luck trying to get one. You won't see newbs holding a Globe any time soon

Dont speak so soon, a friend of mine was GIVEN this item, at level one, by a guildmate of his, lucky... I wish I could afford this...
He's talking about the no-drop Globe of Dancing Flame.
I have a Iksar Sk with reg3, fungi. I equip the heart in primary after hard battles solo. Did I mention that SK's are the only class that can equip the heart and fungi at the same time? Do the math...

Most things say if they have to be equiped for the effect, this doesnt.

Cool?! Since PoP came out every newb to hit level 40 gets himself at least one glowing-orb looking item. I'm a 65 NEC and I'm wielding Z's Heart and the orb from BoT... and I really want to replace them for look alone. I also have Bonecurse and the 1HB from ST which I can use in primary, but I need the regen pretty badly :-( For secondary, there's just nothing else at my level of play to compare to the orb. I'll have to get myself flagged for elemental before I see better, I imagine.

finally the good ol z heart got a new look.

But then again maybe there is some truth to what most people say about you will never see that zone . jeez much better stuff drops in sleepers .

Yes ST does have good stuff in it, but that doesnt mean you should turn in all Zlandicar's hearts, when it just gives you ent to the NPC you get ST Key from, from what I read.
I am in a guild capable of ST, but would rather keep the Heart that is a very nice Regen item with great INT.

Unless I'm mistaken, only Talismans can be turned in for the ST key.
Turning in the ZHeart only gets you the key to open the door to the lair of the Dragon (Jaled Dar) who gives you the ST key, by turning in a Talisman.
Which, if you think about it, is a horrendous waste of a kickass item when a rogue can pick the lock with 210+ skill.

Did this thing always look like a velios ice saber? I thought it would look like a glowing red stone.. strange.

As of Sept 9th the Z heart now looks like a glowing blue orb with particle effects. A GREAT upgrade to the crappy looking sword. I stood in PoK modeling it all day, along with the great new skelly models
Yeah, it looks like an ice saber. I got it at level 34 or so in the Bazaar and whenever im in PoK people call me an idiot for using a sword as a Wizard, kindof amusing really.

Lol whats become of people? some ppl playing this game are so obsessed with it that they have developed a cult around it. they raid every night, they totally ignore lowbies, and they ks just about all they want. im not saying all the uber guilds in eq have ALL these qualities, but just about every even slightly uber guild has one of those traits. its crazy. its a damn game, sometimes i actually wish i was a lil lvl 1 newb, and ya know why? because thats the happiest i ever remember being while playing eq. the vastness of the game was enthralling and i loved it. but now that im so high, the game just isnt that much fun anymore =\. its all about farming cash to get awesome gear or killing nonstop just to get more powerful; and even raiding every day of your empty life just to get the best stuff. ive started to realize that i dont really like this game anymore... here's a sad example: i was looking at the Belt of the great turtle item earlier, and i started reading the forums on the page and the pages linked to it. i read somethin about Lodizal and how this guild on Drinal called cat in hat or somethin like that just ks'd anyone they wanted whenever they wanted. and this was backed up by someone else as well. thats so depressing that ppl are such asses all because of a damn game. =(

I think its hilarious. These donkeys taking a game that was designed for entertainment and turning it into an endless addictive job that doesn't even pay "reality money" (even have to fill out "applications" to get into the guilds). A guy from Keepers of the Faith (top Prexus server guild) did a shout the other day in Less Fay while waiting to zone into a LDoN zone for a KTF raid. He said "KTF looking for female wood elf druid, anyone else need not apply!!!!" I thought to myself this *** clown thinks he's the all that becasue he's in this guild but where will he be when this game is over? I know where he will be...where he has been the entire time!...a 35 year old tool, living in his parents basement because he had to quit his job to play EQ, no girlfriend and NO LIFE!

Yow, lol, c'mon. This is an Everquest forum for things related to the game. It may be true how many varrying degrees there are to how absorbed people get, but you dont necesarally need to let your womanly might shine upon this "*** clown" because of some jerkish thing he said. Ok, CiH is an UBER guild, but the bigggest pricks on earth, or Norrath, lol. I went on a raid with Collegium(was a guest) to PoA to get my epic drop, and 2 CiH duo'd the princess just b4 we got there so that we couldnt enter and spawn Siren the Insane..I HATE THEM!
I play on Drinal and have to say unfortunately its true, Cats in Hats honestly seem to be of the opinion that any zone they are in belongs to them. Bunch of pompous jerks who seem to think that having spent 75% of your waking life for the past 3 years making your character "UBER" makes you a better person than everone else in game. They don't seem to realize it just means you are just that much more addicted than the rest of us ;-). I would hope that these so called uber people are mostly teenagers because if they are adults I weep for the havoc spending that much time, effort and emotional energy on a game must create in their lives... in addition to maintaining a house and keeping a job etc...

Granted, if you enjoy putting your 8 hours in daily on EQ, and you receive forfillment from that...go for it. It seems to me that....when you start messing up my game, making it untollerable for me to play my High level Toons, well then...YOU have issues. Take your UBER guilds, and your snotty a$$ attitudes and find a REAL profession...and let us RL proffesionals relax in eq.

I started playing on Stromm (all n00b server) and I am having a blast. It's so much fun to see "/ooc Trading Breeze for SoW at Nexus stone" !

Just b/c you are in an uber guild doesn't mean you are a prick....there are plenty of asshats out there that aren't in uber guilds....

You know necros have a hp to mana line of spells and without a doubt would be at the top of the list to get this item. Shd's would only use this during downtime as its not a weapon and doesnt help them deal any dmg, and the other casters, while regen is extremely usefull, its not as vital to them as it is with necros.
And i dont believe regen items stack with other regen type items.

Is there a lvl of effect on this? Magelo says 50, but it also says fungi tunic is 46 which is wrong.
I had it on my lvl 1 enchanter as a twink item and oh boy did it ever work. i was a meatshield for my pet til lvl 25 or 26.

I've seen a lot of regen rates posted here for this item, ranging from 3hp to 12hp per tick, with the most common being 5hp/tick.
This item adds 5hp per tick and as far as I know is not level dependent (I'm level 60 and haven't tried it at other levels).
The reason some of you think that it adds 12hp/tick or is level dependent is that your *base* regen rate is level dependent.
A non iksar/troll, sitting, at level 60 regens 7 per tick. This item adds 5 to that for a *total* of 12.
I'm a 60 mage with 3aa in regen. I get 20 per tick while sitting with this item and with my self buff up: 7 base (for being lvl 60), + 3aa + 5 for my tpp buff, +5 for the heart.

This has the worst graphics for a caster item but Verant is known for it poor graphics for caster items so this is nothing new.

Sold my manastone for 40 k then bought this for 35 to twink my necro on Tunare server. Everyone says prices on Tunare are messed up so not sure if that helps or not. This is by far the sweetest droppable primary slot for necros in the game. This + Hand of the Reaper is wicked looking, and any necro who can should try to get one.
BTW, I hear there's a luclin quest for a necro robe with regen, which would rock, but it's ubur rare drops and 55+ groups quest. Can anyone confirm this? Would be interested in any info on it.

Zoth, you know nothing. Every necromancer in my guild has one of these, they plan it that way. Having several necromancers behind the scenes can often make or break a raid. What do you think is more important, whether your cleric has enough mana or whether you have a 15/23 weapon? There are items far better than 15/23 that drop in ToV.

Actually the guilds I have been with will give these to their tanks first, for one reason: this heart is 1/2 of the quest for the Neb's Warbone, 15/23 +10 str procs bone melt....and awesome offhand weapon by anyone's definition! It always comes down to "whats best for the guild", and I have to say the damage per minute you get with that bad boy far outweighs the advantages of 5 hp a tick regen for the one or 2 necros they have!
But guild leaders tend to look at things like that when considering who gets what loot =)
