Druids but not rangers, clerics but not paladins, SKs but not necros. Monk and shaman but not BL. Strangest class restrictions I've ever seen on an item.

A question I have had with hunting in SS is weather or not you can do it without trashing your faction? I'm closing in on 50 and starting to think about it, but I've worked pretty hard to get to apprehensive or indifferent (whatever it is now) so I can do the armor quests if I choose...
Will hunting unnamed mobs result in negative faciton hits? I was wondering specifically about the cubes and spiders and such, given that there's a quest to kill spiders in Skyshrine given by that quest sentry guy.
Anyway, I'd love some clarification from an experienced shyshrine hunter...

This Hammer drops off Random mobs in the back...ie Wyverns...Cubes....Wurms. They all share the same loot table so there is always a chance of this and other items droping.

Just a suggestion. I know it is pretty much too later for you now, but... for other who might get in that same situation:
If you know you are not going to be able to log into EQ due to your Personal computer going down, get on some one elses computer, log onto a remote E-Mail Service(i.e. Yahoo.) and send some E-Mails. Send one to Verant themselves,

and explain your situation. Next, send a message to your guild, and ask them to Petition in your favor, maybe they can flag your account. Going to your Guild and/or Server message board is also another way to get the word to your friends ingame. So, you do not have a friend with a computer you say? OK, Try your public Library. How about, if there is one close, an Internet Cafe?
Just some thoughts, hope this helps!

if i were to just guess by looking at it i would say it was to good to be in the game, but everyone talks about how it is and stuff so it must be. I got killed as a lvl 30 druid and lost my lvl to 29, I decide i dont wanna play because i am pissed, and i got a week or so to get corpse back it wont be a big deal, i try to go on 2 days later and i see all my lights blinking on my cable modem, I waited for my dad to get home and asked him if he payed the bill and he said he wasn't sure....CRAP. Ok i started to panic there and told him he had to pay. He doesn't get around to it (IMBOSILE, er bad spellin heh) so i make sure he gets around to it this time, he finally calls and they say they will turn it back on in about 48 hours, it has already been like 5 days sense i died so i am screwed, they end up turning it on later then they said i go back to where corpse was and POOF its gone, i lost everything but some left over crap in the bank, a couple plat (only like 20pp because i just bought a velium etched stone mace and some other things) but the only thing that happened good was before i died, a while before, i dont know why but i decided to use shield instead of testament. so testament was left in bank so i had that and a few plat and i lost everything else, INCLUDING A LEATHERFOOT RAIDERS CAP (4 DAY CAMP FOR ALLIGATOR SKIN GOD DAMNIT NO) and about 2 and a half months worth of training down the drain. I told u this story to point out how good this weapon is. If i had just this ONE weapon i would be happy again and not care that i lost all my stuff because its that good. If u feel sorry for me cause i am a doomed loser then u can maybe gimme any leftover crap u got that has +wis or something, i am wearing mostly cloth right now and i dont think i can level until i get better stuff. My name is geaneius and i am on zubuxorak server, or however u spell it. If u are thinking stupid begger deserves what is coming just think how u would feel if u lost EVERYTHING. one last thing, I salute u if u actually read all this. This poor sap just kept blabbin on so thanks for reading.
Unfortunately, the one thing you do have left, your testament of Vanear, won't equip while using this. Sorry to hear of your loss. Id help you out, but I play on Rodcet Nife. Did you try petitioning?

This droped the other night. I am a 54 cleric, and, when I am FM, I have been working on 2HB, so, untill we rolled for it, my group let me use it. I would only use it when I was FM, and the party was not in any danger of getting hurt.
I has a STR Buff, Werewolf form, Haste, and was using Yallup 4. I was hitting in the upper 40's, mid 50's with this thing! OMG! I was in LOVE! My 2HB went from 128 to 131. I know as a cleric I will never really NEED this weapon, but, it was very nice to be able to put out that dammage. When the roll came, I did not call NBG, so every one rolled for it, and.....
I lost. :(
A warrior in my group won it, at first I was sorta mad, but did not say anything, cuz everyone knew I wanted it. I had figgured that the Warrior would just sell it.
BUT......
The Next day, in Skyshrine, I saw a cleric with the Same weapon. I asked where the cleric got it, and he said that his wife(The Warrior) Had won it, and had given it to him.
That made it all OK to me. It was not rolled on just to go off and sell, it was given to a loved one who used it. I am going to STAY in SkyShrine, and hunt there till I get one for myself now. BWAAA-HAAA-HAAA-HA!

P.S. TO all you clerics who do not melee, DO IT! At least to max your skills. 1HB and 2HB have caps of 175, and, DEF has a cap of 200. Even if you do not care about your fighting skills, think of this: You have to be gettign hit for DEF to go up, and, DEF is Free AC! Go ahead and get hit in controled situations, when you can, so you have the skills for later when you cannot. If you have ever grouped in a NON-Tank group, that is Caster Heavy, sometimes you have to jump in, and take the hits while some one is makeing a new pet, or doing that last NUKE. I have around 2400 HP, and 850 AC Self buffed. Am I ever going to replace a tank? Nope, but, I am going to be the best I can be, so, durring CR, some green mob does not kick my ***! When Camping Green Mobs, it is most Manna efficient to do 1 AOE spell on room full, and then beat them to death the rest of the way. Then Heal and med up.

Maybe just me, but this sucks. I will stick with my Charred guardian shield & Slime Coated Harpoon
for 15 wis. Dont get me wrong the damage would be nice, but just watch your stamina drop with that first swing.. oh and unless you are soloing with a pet why would a shaman use this

Frist soloing is not the only time a shaman can melee, I do it often in zones like the hole where you don't always have enough pure melee classes.
If 1 point of wis is worth that much why are you using a CGS instead of the tome of vanear? Don't try and tell me the ac make that much diffrence.
And When you are FM what do you do? Cast a dot? cast a DD? Me I get off my butt and melee....you would be supprized how much damage you can do

Seems like a great shaman weapon to me. Lots of wisdom, good damage, and a shaman would hardly notice the weight.

Why the F**K, yet again, does Verant create ANOTHER weapon usable by Shadowknights and not Paladins? Sure this weapon isn't all that, but it's the principle of the matter. I hate checking Allakhazam everyday for new items, only to see Shadowknights (along with other classes) can wield or wear something and Paladins can NOT. Verant has a screwed up underprivaledged idea about Paladins...

I cannot believe that there are still some paladins complaining about their class. You guys get by far some of the best and coolest weapons and armor in the game. Before Kunark, the Soulfire/FA was the coolest looking thing in the whole game by far, and now that Kunark/Velious is out, you get the Fiery Defender and Nature's Defender - two incredibly awesome weapons. The Nature's Defender is probably just about the best weapon in the whole game. I'd rather have that for my warrior than the warrior epic quest item, but it's pally only of course. If you haven't looked at it, go look now, it's ridiculous - 45 AC ON A WEAPON. And the quest isn't very hard either. You guys definitely get your share of cool stuff, so stop complaining. This weapon's not all that great anyway, good for the dam/del ratio but the stats are better for the wis casters. So all you pallys should just quit your whining, your class gets plenty of good items.

Why does some class whine about EVERY item? Yeah, Pally's can't use this. But there's an AC 25 WIS 8 or so shield that Shamen can't use and SKs can. And there are CHA items that enchanter's can't use, and...and...and...

I think what this guy is really getting at is that Paladin's have 2H Blunt in there skill list, however there are very few 2H Blunt weapons for paladins. We can't even use the Great Staffs dropped by newbie mobs.
Yes, we do get some cool stuff and, to be honest, 2H Blunt is probably the most worthless skill in the game (IMO. Keep in mind this is the opinion of a paladin and a warrior's may differ). However, (back to the point) why give us 2H Blunt if we won't be able to use it until we are level 50?

Perhaps so that you can use it while getting to level 50. When you're lower level, and someone gives/sells you a really nice magic weapon better than yours, You use it. I was given a Drakkel Sledge at lvl 8, by a guy who couldn't find a buyer while auctioning. Was gonna buy a 1hb from him, but humans couldn't equip when I inspected it. He just gave me the sledge. Until then, All I had was a regular morningstar. Still occasionally pull out the sledge at lvl 20 (mainly to beat on things that are running, since I have to unequip my testament of vanear to do it). btw I'm a cleric and blunt is all we get.

i cant say that i would mind the wt all to much. I just wouldnt carry anything else but the armor on me. My wt is about 8 add 14 to that 22wt my ac would go down about 20-30ac right. Carry the ***** in a tink bag or some wt reducing bag. It would still be a great weapon to use while grouping. Imagine using this weapon when you got some haste item on you.

lol YOU are stupid it weights 14.0!! That means you can ***** your AC bonus from weight under 14 (except for those 50+ fellows)

Ah Quit yer whinin ya sissys there are better weapons for monks to be had, Obviously this weapon is directed mostly to the caster types that are seeking a decent weapon with some wisdom.

Yeah, mainly us Barbarian shamans that have the STR buffs and could REALLY use an extra 14 WIS. Just my 2cp. ;-)
