Acid of Kings
Aqua Regia, acid of the
kings, is a very strong
acid that will dissolve
even gold. You will find
that there are many steps
for making aqua regia, yet
it is fairly simple.
Aqua regia is simply made
by mixing a vial of
| muriatic acid with aqua
fortis.
You will make muriatic acid
by heating finely ground
salt in oil of vitrol. The
gnomes make a very good
heat source that will be
used much in the making of
these products.
Aqua Fortis is made by
|
| dissolving saltpeter in oil
of vitrol.
Oil of vitrol is made by
dissolving saltpeter and
crystallized sulfur in
purified water and then
heating it.
You make five vials of pure
water by putting four water
flasks of water in your
| alchemical device and
heating it to boil out the
impurities. Be sure that
you have five empty vials
handy for the water to drip
into. And while it may
seem odd upon reading this
that four makes five, you
will realize that the water
flasks are much larger than
the vials of pure water,
and you are actually
|
| losing much liquid to
evaporation.
You might also find
celestial cleanser handy,
and it is simply celestial
solvent diluted by three
vials of pure water. You
will need to have a spare
empty vial on hand.
You will find that you end
| up with some dirty empty
vials as you go through the
processes to make these
solutions. While it is
cheaper to just throw them
away and buy new vials, if
you are of a mind to
conserve, you can clean the
vials by rinsing them
thoroughly with three vials
of pure water.
