From what I read, if you are not allied with CoV, then you get only faction.. This is awesome though because getting faction with CoV is SUCH a bizatch!
If I were doing this, and someone wanted the ring, NP at all... would group with them, give them the legs, and let them do the turn in... Viola! They get their ring, and I get my faction 8)
I am seriously considering starting an all out weeklong pharm for these legs just to get that ally 8)
One thing you seem to forget, tho. ANY of the quests that involve turning stuff in, ONLY the one who makes the final turn in gets the faction adjustment. So you can stay grouped all you want. the only thing you are sharing is oxygen (and minute exp)

i just got all the velium legs and gave it to Sentry Kale. i only got faction and some money. he did mention if you bring more i will give you a reward. anyone else get this message?
Odd that a Ring of the Chameleon wouldn't have a right click effect of Superior Camouflage. Perhaps VI will fix this soon to more worth the time it takes to get it. /shrug
What would really be a cool clicky effect on these is a proximity spell that mimics an inanimate object nearby. Would make it a nice item for those classes that don't have capability to invise while medding/healing in a hostile zone.
Limited charges of course and tinkerable. When you move the effect drops.
hmm...10second cast minor illusion. would be a good idea. minor illusion is a level 1 enchanter spell. usually (always?) grants indifferent faction, removes SOW or any other speed spells.
I can confirm that it does not always grant indifferent faction. It usually grants indifferent faction +/- any faction hits you may have taken against the mob you are dealing with, and some mobs still con the same to you (Kunark undead for one, all I can remember at the moment.) Still something with a name like this should have an effect like that on it.
Damn this explains why I can never find any of the quest stuff that I'm looking for three quarters of the game must be farmers just looking for a quick buck. No idea why I keep 1kpp in the bank most of the time haven't ever had a problem making money the right way by hunting and selling something I don't need anymore instead of farming!
What does farming have to do with you not finding quest stuff? If you want something that is needed by someone farming a mob.... ask them, most quest stuff is NODROP and is useless anyway.
Oh, and I love your way of making money: "hunting and selling something I don't need" -- Only difference between you and a farmer is that the farmer does it MORE to ONE type of mob...
You wanna ***** about quest items... complain about when things DON'T drop off of quest mobs that are supposed to drop them.

Pharming CAN be awesome <insert plat, xp, or faction here>, but 9 times out of 10, a pharmer will be hogging a specific spawn spot for unholy ammounts of time. Usually a pharmer will be downright rude if you ask them to share. I agree that all you should have to do is ask.. When I pharm, I am as considerate as I can be. If I have had a spawn point for a long time, I'll give it up. Chances are the peeps wanting it will be there less time than I'll be logged on anyway 8)
Now, don't flame without at least trying a little compassion. I can see why peeps get angry with most pharmers. I understand it well, that's why I always do my best to be considerate.
And by the way, you catch more flies with honey than vinegar... That is, if you want flies 8)
I agree with Darknyss, there is no difference between the orignal poster and farmers, except maybe once the original poster is going to move around to more than one spot, recently I've been making trips to sol b, 3 times everyday, Efreeti is ALWAYs camped, AC for Jbooties.. ALWAYs camped. it's crazy these guys stay in one spot, but it's been my experience by killing different things it seems like you get drops that sell for quite a bit of money more often, oh wow, you have 1kpp in the bank, so what. I have lesse.. 300pp on me, thats it. I spend as I get it, and fancy you complaining about campers, sure it's unfair sometimes, but a wizzy nukes for a lot more than a druid.. and unless you root something next to a rooted wizzy, you're not going to get the kill, grow up, you've got more money than a lot of us
I think maybe he's reffering to the rude ones. /shrug who knows, sounds as though that is the case. I have heard stories of people hunting for factions in icewell, and if the armor drops they will destroy it instead of giving it to a cleric/warrior/<insert class in need here>. I wouldnt do something like that, but maybe this is the type of peoples he is refering to.
And to back up the farmers... they dont like when people nag, and nag, and nag to them for getting something. Flamming openly on /ooc or /shout also doesnt exactly get you into there, how may I help this kind gentleman or ma'am today book =)
anyone know how much this ring is worth? as a 39 druid i'm hurting for cash, as long as the guards don't aggro me i could root 'n dot the spiders to death pretty easily but i wanna know how much the ring is worth.. if it's a k or more then i'm off to SS but less then...
I'd like to hear prices on these too - I've gotten 3 of them so far, and if they really CAN sell for a few k, well, I'll need to sell 'em to raise some much-needed cash. The one price quote of 10k seems nutty to me. If you wanted this item and had the cash, what would you pay? Anyone?
Edit/Add: I sold 'em for 400pp a pop recently. Tried auctioning them at various prices, didn't get a buyer til I lowered them to Forest Loop prices, to which the item is actually rather similar.
Considering that +6WIS rings go for 200pp and Forest Loops 300pp (at least on my server) I'd sy 400pp is a fair price, probly what I'd ask but take 300.

#Anonymous,
Posted:Apr 18 2001 at 3:51 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) a Velium-Ruby ring is +5 Wisdom, +3 Str, that's even better
You would think with a name on the ring like the one it has it would cast somethink like minor illusion or something (level 1 enchanter spell) as a clickable effect, with or without charges.
When will VI come out with a ring that's better then Platinum (now Velium) Fire Opal?
A player-made item that's 6ac/65hp is better then 95% of all rings I've seen in this game. Unless they came out with caster rings with 4ac/10int/40mana, who'd wear anything else? The only ring I've seen as a "drop" that rivals FO rings for casters is the Band of Eternal Flame, which drops VERY rarely.
Anyway, here's to hoping that VI can come up with some better finger slot items /toast
Try a diamond wedding band (5th floor, tower of frozen shadow) 5 int 5 wis 15 mana 8 cr 8 hr and some ac and either dex or agi (forget which). kill nosja and daman one drops this one drops a more melee oriented ring called runed wedding band. Recommend a full party level 45 to 50, start trimming members after 50, but kill things one at a time here, sometimes when a mob dies, an enraged relative spawns (nasty and 50 or close to it very magic resistant). this is the best int caster ring ive ever seen that was tradeable, and its cool for the wis casters too (lose 2 wis gain 15 mana some ac and 16 points of resists, I wear one as a druid)
Actually he probobly was posting about caster rings. And I have to agree, there are probobly not that many rings out there right now that I would replace my Fire Opal rings with.
Plus why would an enchanter post asking for better tank rings then what is obviously a caster ring?
As a Cleric, I'm more interested in wearing my Plat-Jasper rings for 12 Wisdom total. If I was incredibly rich, I'd get some Velium-Jasper rings for 14 Wisdom total... Though if a Velium-Ruby ring is +5 Wisdom, +3 Str, that's even better. (If it's +3 Wisdom, +5 Str, that stinks.)
S/he wasn't talking about Vel Ruby Veil, but about Vel Jasper Rings (7wis). They both exist (different stone after all). Anyways, when you're doing your skyshrine quests you prolly already have 200 wis (or will be there soon) so you might want to look for resist gear instead. Maybe some Vel Diamond Rings. Wis is overrated anyway :)
Heh, you can tell this shammy is a Ogre or Troll and would have to have some seriously uber gear to have 200 wis. We Iksar know that having 200 wis is much preferable to having to cannibalize yourself and fortunately for us its not that hard.
There is a caster ring that is +4ac +8int +45mana +10hps +4fire -8str that is wizzy sol ro only. That is each, not per pair. My wizard has two on, the str hit hurts but OMG it is worth it. They are by far one of the best rings in the game IMHO. This is in response to that "They need to make a caster ring with like +10 int or something"
Why would a hybrid use this? Jagged bands have higher AC (which you need much more than wis/int at lower levels), and at higher levels platinum or Velium Fire Opals far outweight the wis/int bonus on these rings.
