Scars of VeliousI have read what was said here & found alot of talk about... Oh wait nothing concerning this cloak... I am a 9th rank Heyokah of the Tribunal, my friends ( a vicar & a pathfinder) have been so gracious as to allow me to accompany them into Skyshrine & to offer me a fair roll on this with them, so thet question in my mind is Where is the best loc's to find this ???

I got mine off of the Loaches, seems the loot table is random though...tougher the mob, better chance of dropping something nice I take it =). I've also seen it drop off of the Fe'Dhars too or whatever they're called.

You just have to kill Vox a few times to get a scale and you have a 10 ac 9 int/wis 75 mana 25 cr cloak usable by all races. Now I know that most of you do not have the patience to waste half a year on vox /naggy raids, but maybe you'll get lucky like me. I have the eyepatch too :) Muahahah.

Check your patch messages a little closer... in May they snuck this in:
"- To address the competition between epic-seeking bards and other classes, the infamous White Dragon Scale is no longer used in the quest given by Karam Dragonforge in Rathe Mountains. The quest now requires a White Dragon Hide. We did not reduce the rate at which White Dragon Scales enter the world, but rather added new potential for the new White Dragon Hide to be found."

Dropped for me tonight , its much better than a hiero cloak. Shamans dont need the stat adds of a hiero, the saves on this help more and the extra 1 ac and 5 wisdom help too).Now my hiero cloak being lottoed will help get my guild into doing the last step of my epic. Good luck on getting this , it will make any wisdom casters night.

I won the roll on the second one of these that dropped, for those who don't know this drops off of various named wyverns at wyvern gate and to my knowledge there is no mob named Grayden.

Aegis can be held in the shield slot or put on the back slot.
I think I might swap the Aegis to the shield hand now for resists. It has better AC than my CGS.(more weight too, oh well.) The Cloke only weighs a pound.
Also, the Aegis acts as a lightsource, this cloke does not. (Just got it last night.)

This item drops from the Fe'Dhar wurms just before the maze part. Very easy for a single 50ish group to get to and hunt for hours.

This cloak is probably the best Wisdom caster's cloak out there -- MAYBE hierophant's cloak is better, but I would take this cloak and sell Hiero If I had the chance and was in that situation =)
Very nice cloak for people that dont have maxed out wisdom, and even if you do. This beats the hell out of mammoth hide cloak. In my opinion its better than heirophant cloak. I'ma have to start hunting in skyshrine...

hierophant cloak is only 4wis (nevermind the 4 to every other stat) so yes you are correct in that. for wis casters this is better...at least i think anyway :P

heiro cloak is a status symbol tho. and has some nice saves/stats on it. wis isnt all that priests need, agi, sta,str, cha, are all needed

Assuming you're a combat cleric, true. But for us butt-casters (sit on butt, heal, sit on butt), this is a perfect cloak. +9 wis and +20 mana is just too nice to pass up.
For me, status items are ones that are visible (BP, leggings, arms, etc). The only way someone is going to know you have a heiro cloak instead of nothing at all is if they come up, inspect you, and right click on your cloak. Me, I'd rather have the stats. :) (the +7 MR is really nice too... I'm loving this Velious stuff)

I believe when you all say that Hiero is only 4 wis, that youre forgetting it is also 75 mana. Although, this IS a very nice cloak. Hierophant's Cloak is nice and droppable too, so pick one of these up and pawn Hiero and buy some ph4t l3\/\/tz ^_^

And does aegis have resses??? Usually a cleric has darn near max wis AND good ac in plate mostly (specially a high elf one, my dark elf is at 196 though)

Uh I don't think so. Aegis is 12 ac 10 wis and 25 sv disease. This is 12 ac 9 wis 20 mana and 7 sv cold and magic. Cold and magic is much better save then disease and the 1 less wis is made up by the 20 mana. The difference is Aegis can be worn in shield slot as well as back. However, ideally you would want both items and would swap out depending on what you are fighting.
Yeah this beats aegis by having more useful saves.

At level 50, 1 wisdom is worth about 10.5 mana. this has more mana than the Aegis, and you can use the Aegis in the shield slot with this and keep the 25 sv disease. Or bank the Aegis and not have as much weight to carry.

Just a quick note, isn't the Aiges also very heavy? About 10 weight if I remember. This is only 1.0 weigh, much better in my opinion.
