Well...... on the stats up there it says dmg bonus 0, well, they're wrong, I weild this blade with My 50 Shadow knight, i know i should have better but not anymore, this is great now, cuz the dmg bonus is 6 on it, dont say its not jus cuz Allakhazam says its not, i have it so i should know, so once i hit 51 this sword turns into a 29/40 which is really sweet!

Bonus is based on your level, just picked this up yesterday taking a group down there to get Xalgoz and get xp, at 46 the blade has a bonus of 12, max hit is around 90 or so for me.

edit: bonus went up to 14 at 50 and is now 16 at lvl 51.

Damage bonus is also affected by your skill...
For us melee classes, the dmg bonus of a weapon is just showing us what our 'personal' bonus is for that weapon, based on a function of our level combined with our mastery of that skill (1\2HS, piercing, etc.)
You can tell when a twink submits a screenshot of a weapon when there is a low dmg bonus, though that could also mean the wielder has crappy skill with that weapon..... okay, enough rambling... I'm off to camp the Ry'Gorr

This is wrong. Damage bonus is dependent on your level (damage bonus starts at around lvl 30 if I remember correctly), your class(casters get no damage bonus, not sure if different melee classes get different bonuses) and the delay of the weapon (delay only matters on 2hdrs all 1hdrs are the same). Picked one up while camping for HS keys and even w/ my pitiful 2hs skill of about 110 it shows a damage bonus of 16 (whereas a 34/49 sword I picked up in arena the other day shows a bounus of 21). The only thing skill affects is your attack value (mine drops from about 950 to less than 700 when I switch from a 1h to 2h weapon because of skill difference).

Right you are... my mistake. It is likely that I was a bottle or 2 deep in wine when I posted that... /shrug
Since that time of impaired judgement, I have come to understand that the bonus is based solely on level, as you stated.

The formula is...for at least 1handed, LVL-25/3. I dont think anyone knows the exact formula for 2handed yet. Hope this helps.

if you can afford it, i seriously would recommend something better like Drakkel Icegrinder or better yet, a Runed Frost Blade. at 34 i am hitting for 140+ in a single hit with the Runed Frost Blade, and for around 80-100+ with the icegrinder. if you can, head to GD with invis or something, go to the giant fort (almost always camped) and ask just to sit there and if any icegrinders drop, ask to loot it. they`re Fairly common, 1 out of 4 giants drop them, and most people leave them to rot or would sell to a merchant anyway. just a suggestion

Blackened Alloy ******* Sword is Awsome, but i do better damage with the Blade. One less damage, and one more delay...plus stats....you make the call, i just switched, and though i LOVE the blackened alloy ******* sword, i love tha stats better on the blade!!! if you have the pp go with the blade, if you don't stay with the BABS.

I seem to remember someone saying something about "more damage with 40+ delay"... You know, a bonus or something. I think I read it in a post about a bow with 39 delay.

I had a rusty 2 handed sword and 95pp. Raising money and looking for a 2h slasher, with my wood elf ranger on the tribunal, in Greater Faydark. I auctioned for a 2 handed sword for over an hour. When all of the sudden someone gave me a tell and told me to meet him. Logicaly, I did. Cause chances were what ever it was, it was going to be better then what I had at the moment. And when I met up witht the guy. He hooked it up with a Blade of Xalgoz. And that was the sweetist thing. I told him I was is ho. and he left. I just hit lvl 10, and I noticed I was hitting for 27 and 28. Which was a nice step up from the 20-21 I was duing as a lvl 9. It's preety sweet considering my friends lvl 14 druid does 12-13 with a velium sword of somesort. I believe. I love it. It's an excelent weapon.

Before level 10, I think the damage cap on melee attacks is around 20 damage or so. Once you hit level 10, I think that damage cap goes up to around 30 or so damage per hit, and after level 20, that damage cap goes up yet again. Once you hit level 20, you should start doing around 45 damage per swing with this weapon. As you gain more levels, this damage will increase due to your strength bonus and level bonus.

lvl 1-9 dam cap i 21, 10-19 is 30 i believe, and after that there is no cap (at least no known cap). =)

As I was hunting in bird city in South Kanara a fllow warrior came up to me and said that he wanted my Velium Battle axe and in return he would give me the box.....so what do you think i did........in my first fight with this bad boy I did a crippling blow for 106 pts of damage....hehehe and i am only lvl 22 right now

It depends on what you want. If you want to hit you a lot of damage, got the BoX, but if you want to hit for less faster, get the Nathsar Great sword. I don't know the weight of the Nathsar Great sword, but this one will drain your stamina. It's really want you want.

Ok well i think i got so lucky. I was asking around for 2 handed slashing swords when a guy came up to me and said ill trade it to u for ur 7 cb pads i was like ok sure why not and man this sword is awsome i love it just gotta start working on the 2hand slash but besides that i like do 25 easy and tops was 29 dmg not bad and i got pretty lucky i guess as it seems to be worth something

have to say, my 37 SK likes the mith better, but (as said in previous posts) i dont have the uberness to spend xKPP on an FBSS or other slot haste item - with grim aura, you're looking at a VERY nice damage to delay ratio - and as far as the box is concerned, if you have another haste item, go for it, i would - but the mith is WAY cheaper on my server than a box AND a haste item - so if you're looking to upgrade from a dark reaver or something similar and you are strapped for cash, go for the mith. otherwise - well, otherwise, buy a better sword than the box, because you most likely can afford it

This is a nice weapon, not the best I know, but it'll do for the time being.

I paid 600pp for it on Xev and my friend, who also plays Xev got it for 500pp, I think they're a little cheaper than the Mith on Xev coz I see them go for 1k...

Maybe we got lucky, or maybe I should've gotten a Jasarth Battle Sword?

found a rogue looking to sale his inventory so i traded a blood stained fang and a raven scale bracer for it. Well ipcked up my heavy sword and went to hacking took it in to crushbone and started hiting for say 70's and im lvl 20
gotta say this is the best thing ive ever owned i sugest if your lucky enough or have enough pp invest in one its great

*sigh* you cant hit in the 70's when your lvl 20, theres a thing called a dmg cap thats released a bit every 10 or so lvls, you wont be hitting in the 70's until your at least 40+. Learn the game before you make stupid posts newbie

Um, my 20 ogre SK hits for a max of 74 with a BABs. Course his str is 184 unbuffed, but you can hit that hard at 20. After they get slaughtered in a PvP fight (Tallon rocks), people are aways asking "what the hell is that sword?" You've gotta love the stealth factor of a BABS :)

Well my friend, a 28 Paladin is hitting 100+ with his Thorn Blade of the Ykesha, with 150 STR as well though. But if he were buffed with STR and had his skill maxxed he may have well been able to pull a 70 off with this sword.. I'm lvl 30 and yet to get past 75 now....

To answer all your questtions, mith is better if you don't have a FBSS. The mith still gets the 40 dly bonus, but swings like a 21/32. Also, as price figures, at least on mith marr...

i have a Nathsars Great Swrod and my friend has the box.. i just wondering what is better..the ratio is allmost exactly the same but the box is like.3 faster, and its gives you the 3str and 3 agi, but the nathsar gives you 10str...so i was just wondering...maybe cuz you dont get the extra dammage with the 40+? the box might be better?

There is a better weapon out there for only a little more

Just FYI for you guys out there who have one theres a better weapon out there thats 24 40 3str dex agi 10hp called Worn Cresant Axe and on CT Blade is worth like 400pp and Axe is worth 1k or so =)
Blade looks cooler though, Axe looks like Axe of Iron Black which has sucky looks =)
I had a blade for awhile I loved it then I went to 2 Canes of the tranquil which are AWESOME!

I am a lvl 19 pally and a lvl 35 druid just walked up and gave me this sword!!!!!! i am in love with it......I definatly belive that the blade is a very good weapon that every mellee class should have stored somewhere. I plan on using mine till lvl 46.....you know when i can go to the plane of hate....hehe....i rate this sword with a big WOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!
