i found more snow cougars near the Iceclad zone.
the HQ is semi-rare. got 2 out of a dozen kills. keep killing the cougars and be patient.

took me no time to get 2 in eastern wastes just now... in the space of less than an hour
i wasn't even hunting the cougars, just kodiaks.. shrug.. guess i was lucky.. ;p

I would love to see a green mob give exp. These are rare folks so patient and head to IC.

Heh - it's a wonder what a difference a date makes.... :) In 2000, there were no Light Blue mobs, and high greens did, in fact, give xp... Those high greens are today's Light Blue mobs....
Still getting decent xp in the upper 30's quadding these in IC with Wizzy... And those were a staple for learning to quad with druid as well.

Eastern wastes AINT like it use to be folks... i dont see as many cougars running about and ive killed like 6 and all have been Low Quality as with all quality high is pretty rare...
Since this is one of the best quests to do in your mid-20s for a Mana Preservation item, I took a 25 shammy, 25 shadowknight out to Iceclad and beat up on the snow cougars for a few hours last night. However, at level 25 - 2+ cougars is gonna mean death, so be prepared to either die or do the fear-run-camp method of escape.
HQ pelts drop about one every 15-20 I'd say (took me a few hours to get 2).

These things con blue and I easily solo'd them only wasting one bubble of mana and health per cougar. High Quality Skins are the uncommon drop but you can trade these so check the vendors near by to see if anyone has sold them to vendors. At level 41 they still give decent experience and even some of the green ones gave out exp. The plus side is that I got two Cougar Claw Earrings in about an hour also.
