We slew Kelorek'Dar with a single group today and I was lucky enough to get this nice blade. Finally I have a reason to get my 2HS skill up, till now I only focused on one-handed weapons.

Yet again, verant proves my constant rave of "makin cool named items that suck". Granted, the dragon is a little wuss, but still, this sword has a cool as chit name, but sucks worse than a 98 year old prostitute with lockjaw.
OMG Ashen Rage killed the Dragon on Seventh Hammer Last night and they didnt want the swords (there were 2 on the corpse) So they said whoever wants em can have. I know I didnt earn it as most would but if its there why waste it. Anyway thank you Rage. I went to DL and I can solo there now (Just about) at 48. Fantastic. I was using Arbitors Combine Greatsword which I bought for 2k last week lol, and then I get this. Well, I'm happy:)
this is a nice sword, wouldnt mind having it myself BUT...thats not what i want to post about =)
my beef is with a haste effect on a 2hs, it doesnt make much sense...they could have just lowered the delay on this and the mith 2 hander, and whatever other 2hs that has haste. im not sure if haste effects how fast you kick...it probably does. not like that matters worth a flying $%*# anyways. and possibly bash for you bigger warriors? that would come in handy i reckon. even with kick/bash thrown into the equation it still seems pretty silly to me.
not flaming the sword though of course, and to those of you with one...congrats to ya =)
one more thing....wis or int on a warrior only item isnt uncommon...nor is int on items only for wis casters or wis on items for only int casters etc etc. look at the various suits of mid level quest armor, crafted, ro, scaled mystic, etc etc..they all add at least a lil bit to every stat. personally....i wouldnt splurge for a crafted helm and surely wouldnt waste my time questing for one, but as earlier posts stated it would help with tradeskills and possibly leveling up quicker in skills such as 1hs 2hs kick etc etc.
well good luck to yas =) semajecap 38war semaj 42dru bunch of other semajs... cazic thule
ps- keep the sword, i just want the seadragon meat =)~~
They did it cuz they wanted the weapon to be a fixed dmg/dly apart from chanter/bard haste.
In other words, they didn't want people having a 30/30 2hs (or whatever it works out to) as well as having a 41% haste item AND however much haste from their local chanter.
It's all about balancing. In the days before Luclin, they didn't want players to be able to hit as hard/fast and take as much damage. Now with the high end encounters in Luclin and PoP, the upgraded gear is out there to accomodate for these difficult mobs.
Unfortunately, it makes a lot of the gear that was amazing back in the day seem like crap. Look at the various Ykesha weapons... SSoY was THE weapon back in the day. Now it's laughed at as pet food.
The highest worn haste takes precedence. So, if for some bizarre reason someone with a 45/46% haste item was wielding this, then that would take effect not the 36% on this. Similarly, someone that was using silver chitin handwraps (21% haste) and wielding this would be at 36% haste from this. So it's actually putting a LOWER bound on the damage from this weapon, not an UPPER bound.
Thats not all that doesnt make sense, what im looking at right now says WAR only as of 8/3/02, yet it has 4 wis on it.....unless this war here is concerned about his trade skills, then i say its lame.
2hs with haste on it > 2hs with the lower delay. If you take a sword that's 30/45 with haste making it 30/35 and compare it to a 30/35 sword, the 30/45 + haste will be better. The larger delay will increase the Damage Bonus, which is part of the overall damage formula to increase the overall damage of the weapon. Of course, that's assuming that you don't already have better haste than the sword...
I'd much rather have the lower delay, this would enable one to couple it with another haste item, making it up to 41% better (the best permanent haste) than having haste built into the weapon (item haste's dont stack except clicks and procs, which are a separate category)
Smart warriors will max out there skills in 3 or more types of weapons (ususally 1h slash first) and carry a "golf bag" of weapons depending on the scenerio. I use 1h slashing, 2h slashing, and pericing (procing pericers are good agro). Working on my 1 handed blunt still. Why is there wisdom on the sword? *shrug* Probably the same smart person who put int on the cleric boots from PoH. =P

I currently have 1hs, 2hs, 1hb, 2hb and piercing at their max. Word to the wise for up and coming warriors .. don't wait until later lvls to work on these weapon skills. IF you're going to take the ambition to learn all of them, try to do it as soon as you can.
I also carry around a 'golf bag' of weapons to use. 2hs/2hb for situations where I don't want aggro, and 1hs/1hb/piercing for times to work on skills or deal damage
The mud sucker dropped this, few really cared about it. I won the roll. Used it a bit but always favored my Argent Protector... until I ran some tests tonight.
TSotT did, in my 210 second tests, ~500 more damage than the Argent Protector (and the AP even crit hit more). As well it did nearly 1000 more damage than my common Capt's Mallets x2, or Defiance+Mallet. 1000 damage!
Exceptional weapon to have when no haste caster is around and your worn haste is less than what you get off this sword.
it is ONLY 33% haste...just fer yer information all of you who think its 46% haste...still good, its like a 30 35 with haste i believe...if i did my math wrong please notify, but its only 33%haste

stop the aruging on warriors needs or nots, warriors need HP and AC only and weapon with some dmg and dly, were not made to do anything else but take hits and maybe give a few if you have a nice weapon like this, Who cares if the sword has wisdom, if you dont like tough **** its there to stay, unless verant nerfs it. This is one fine weapon though, my friend uses one and is happy, even if it does have wisdom, thats not what counts though.

while I agree with you on the "stop ******** about the wis" aspect... I think you failed to realize the importance of SAVES for a warrior. AoE's hit the guy getting ************ as well as the rogue pokin the mobs butt.
Basically all that matters in the way of stats on a weapon is the dam/delay. Pft 10 str, at raid time im close to 240 buffed anyhow. Wis 98 standing there in my clothes. The haste makes this a desireable 2hs to use as secondary melee. I would like to see it have more damage but hey its ok as is.
My only problem with this weapon is the looks. It's freakin small, looks like a 1hs. And yes it's all about the look.
Yep it's the dex for sure) fully buffed by my shammy mate, my 54 war has 197 dex and this makes his melee abilities, procs, and crits pour in...just a note on this sword, I won the roll on it last night and am very happy about it. A common misconception with warriors and tanks is that they should ALWAYS have agro...you will find that on the larger raids, or at least the well planned ones, there will be only ONE main tank, the others are NOT to ever gain agro. Also, I have tried many many combos of weapons to test theories, and have found that the idea of speed being the only deciding factor is just plain wrong...Procs will agro in a hurry, and the damage is a big factor as well, this is why the casters are not called to nuke til half life on the mob usually... I'm going to have to agree with a couple other people here. Dex determines how fast your melee skills go up. When I was booned and had a shammy dex buff on, hence 255 dex, I pulled out my 2hb that I still needed to raise, and the skill just flew up like crazy. Plus I noticed a good deal more crits. Gotta love being a werewolf! =D
Nope. Dex determines improvement in melee skills. I noticed that right off the bat going from playing a warrior to playing a rogue. Rogues max out skills FAST.
I was in cobalt scar when someone shout ted hey it's your birthday come down to the beach. They said hey loot one of those swords... I quickly fell over dead..been using this thing for 2 days as far as i know there are only 3 on the prexus server it rocks no idea what the delay is but it puts a fbss/wurm and yak to shame. Doing consistent hits of 70 and most hits go into the 110 range, all this at level 49.I don't know what to tell you other than awesome weapon.
Can you imagine? Putting haste on a sword with a ration of 1.5 already? Goodness, this will be a fearsome weapon to watch in battle. And with a weight of just 2.0, no need to worry about that pesky little yellow bar becoming empty. hehe
This sword has very nice haste, too -- Thogg of Drinal reports that it's 42-43% haste after running logs. (Which is actually faster than Monsoon, apparently.)
I was lucky enough to get one myself last night. Tried it out, it's very nice, and very fast for a two-hander (didn't run a log -- heh I don't care enough to do that, all I need to know is that I like it!)
Plus, as an added bonus, it looks great on a halfling, finally a two-hander that doesn't make me look like I'm about to tip over from carrying around some oversized sword or axe.

It's a Monsoon clone from the Dracoliche in PoF. Unless this has real sweet item haste, any of the hundreds of haste items out there combined with felhammer or the 2H Warrior epic will out do this any day.
I agree...like my Iksar Warrior cares about being wise...I just wanna bash the hell out of stuff. 30/45 w\ Haste and 10str will allow him to do that quite well. :) And too bad you silly Paladins can't use it either! hehe Jookar Iksar Warrior of Cazic-Thule Tarew Marr
Having the first one of these on the server and being able to use it all i can say is that it rocks. I have been told that it has 46percent haste on it, the best in the game.
It does seem much faster then my felhammer with fbss.
This wis inst TOTALLY useless. If you feel like starting up a trade skill for whatever weird reason, the wis can help most warrior increase it faster =)
