I thought the twinkin was foul before but now when I played my char to 45 (warrior) and never ever accepted an item, then I wanna play a spellcaster, why not put some PP into that caster so he survive abit easier? The worst thing is though when they who have highend friends and start to play this game and they become both twinked and PLed. Then they have a huge disadvantage because they dont know how to work properly in a group. My oppinion is maybe wrong but I would never ever want a PLed twinked player with me in the group because they often do not know how to play.
Twinking ain't bad... PL`ing ain't bad either. But both in concert kinda defeats the purpose of the game. Why even play the game if you are gonna do it that way? Certain nuances of the gameplay cannot be "explained" over coffee. They have to be learned by getting yourself into a situation, and then getting yourself out of it (or learning that you CAN'T get out of it without RUNNING!)
This discussion reminds me of tabletop RPG's... AD&D, Palladium and the like. You had your hard core rules monsters, the peeps who used slightly modified dice rolls to get slightly better than average stats and finally the pencil whippers who had to have the best in everything and then wanted all the loot handed to them as they wielded their mighty +20 Vorpal Sword of Never Missing. (Nuclear Vorpal Kitties comes to mind... if you recognize this reference then hello old friends!)
What I am trying to say is that half (if not more) of the fun in this game is the challenge. Take all the challenge out and what do you have? A boring 3d cartoon with a small amount of T&A. If I can stomp all over everything because I have powerful friends, that means nothing to me. If I can stomp all over everything cause I da#%@d sure earned it, then THAT is cool!

Twinking a person along with PL'ing them is not a bad thin, long as while you are PL'ing them you explane the nuances of their class. I have been a twink from day 1, and was tought by one of the best. I get compliments from others on the way i play my druid, so it all depe
I will tell you this I am a level 47 cleric who has been twinked from day one and I know very well how to work inside a group. If you are level 45 and have not figured out that is has nothing to do with twinking or power leveling and its just the person playing the character then you need to play more. I have meet people who started out very poor still had their rusty short sword and they play worse in a group then a person who has had a yeaksha on the first day! How should I know well I am a cleric and I have no choice but to group after 9 level so I have been grouping from then on. Play a class that has to group that early before you make assumtions on other people!
I had a cleric and primarily soloed to lvl 19 before i switched servers. Many clerics i've seen at the lower lvls that need to group after lvl 9 forget about AC and and have kick *** wis. All the mana in the world does you no good if spells are always interupted. So those who wish to play their character this way require groups to get the mob off them, I really hate those hotkeys btw.
You just have to find the right spots, my cleric is 50 now..and he soloed most of the way there, do to my crazy schedule. It is much easier to be in a group, as our strongpoint is healing, so find atank partner you trust..and go at it :) As for twinking..my cleric was my first char, therefore untwinked at all, but I have proceeded to twink out many chars from him, and have still enjoyed, and played well each class.
There are some nice quests to be done in SS, but it seems to me that the faction to gain here is a lot harder than the typical coldain/giant faction adjustments. If you want to be able to walk through here safely without aggro, kill billions of giants, and raise that faction with the dragons! (=
Took 170 faction pluses to reach indifferent in SS. Another 80 put me to amiable. Now sitting at 347 total and still hoping to reach kindly. And, now that I have learned the wyverns in Cobalt Scar are not giving faction hits to Claws of Veeshan in spite of being on CoV faction, I can travel there free of needing invis thru SS.
There are several that go by the name Loach <name> and they are on the Claws of Veeshan faction. Hunt them if you don't care about SS faction/Dragon faction.

People that rush through their lower levels fully twinked take something out of their game that I wouldn't miss. But that is their own choice. Sounds more like you are jealous that you weren't able to go the same twinked route. Kick back and relax friend, let the uber-twinks wallow in their riches while you realize you have the full flavor of the Qeynos Hills, Blackburrow, Steamfont, Crushbone and all the other "low-level" zones with you. We who take the slow steady route are the richest players of them all.
I dunno. I have two accounts, and I twink a little and also engage in what could be called "powerleveling," but I'm not sure that I'm missing much with my alts.
Frankly, it took me a long time to get to my 50s with Viergang, and I spent a lot of time watching my mana bar or experience bar (both, most of the time) creep towards being able to stand up.
I find with my other chars the only difference is they don't sit down as much as Viergang did. Am I missing something? Is this like a suffering builds (a) character argument?
I think sitting around all the time is teh suck, myself.
But I agree. If you don't like the way I play, don't play with me and don't twink.
I agree with the note above. Don't worry about how others play the game, worry about how you play the game. One of my pet peaves is when people get upset at someone else's good fortune...it is, in my opinion, a sign of jealousy and envy. As long as someone else's actions don't impact me, I don't worry about them. Now if newbie-twinking did affect my ability to play successfully in Norrath, I would perhaps not be so light-hearted about the topic.
I once felt the same way as you. At 24 I thought that twinking was something I would never do and something that takes away from the game, and its true, it does. Then level 60 rolls along. The game doesn't excite you as much and things are getting a little old. You are invited on a raid or to group with some friends somewhere and somehow you land this really kickarse item by winning a roll. Sure, the item will go for 30k+ but you go to your bank and see 150k+ and nothing to spend it on because most of the stuff you want is no drop... why get rid of this non-no drop item that THIS particular character can't use? Do you need the money? You try and fight the evil thoughts out of your head, but the next thing you know you have a level 1 mage that is clad in items that total 150k. You never thought you would do it. sigh.
Making it LORE also means you can't have 2 of them.
I would gladly have the LORE flag removed so that I could wear some AC bearing items somewhere else.
I have nothing against twinkers.
I have sold bone chips and bat wings at low level, CB belts and Lego pads later on. I have even spent a day providing banking services to the IG campers outside Permafrost. What goes around comes around.
Having experienced the "gold rush" of playing on a totally newbie server, I much prefer Saryrn where I have 5 characters.
I would look on all my characters as "Service Twinked". They have all benefitted from the goodwill of other characters for services rendered. It is part of the ecconomy.

Twinking isn't a bad thing all the time.If I play a character to a level where it starts to get boring and I have extra stuff in the bank I don't see what the problem with that is.You have been through these low levels before and why not make the second ,third ,or even fourth character a little easier to level with.I earned the stuff it is mine what's the problem.I do see a problem with ebay twinking,I have a friend that has spent 700$ on one character alone on ebay and he has played maybe 2 months.Well after $700 he still suck's at the game.He never earned a damn thing, all he did was contribute to the damn ebay farmer which **** me off because these are the people that sit in one spot for weeks with no life farming crap some of us other people need which 9 out of 10 times they don't.That ruin's the game for me.
Bah...forest loop still keep most of its value, notice this item is lore, like most of the good items in velious. Meaning you still going to have to put something on the other ear, and what better than a forest loop :)

Just do a little research... There are much better for druids... and you don't have to mess up your dragon faction. Most guilds that I know are on dragon faction anyways. These either require tradeskills to be up or buy them from people in the bazaar. Avg price is about 7k if ya shop around. If ya want some information on the fastest way to level up your tradeskills check http://home.houston.rr.com/aendary/
