after killing maybe 400 i can say that only man o wars drop tunic legs and collar all others are off hunter and warrior relatively often

I hunted these guys for a couple of days now. Killed about 70 of the Hunters and 10 of the Warriors, but have only seen bracers, gloves, head, and a variety of weapons. I spoke with someone the who said they had been hunting Ulthorks for 5 levels and never heard of the collar. Anybody confirm or deny this? Let me know. Thanks.

I got the collar off a Man O War yesterday on Karana server

I know the drop of the Man O Wars. I just had one drop the other day. As for the hunters and warriors? I dont think they do. I have killed about 200 of the warriors/hunters and never seen one drop off of them. But they do still drop off of Man O War

All Though, a lot of times This sites prices arn't very acurate Im still very supprised. Because when I check the pricing data Some sayed the sold it to a vendor for 221PP so im happy, I only paid 10PP for this I knew it was a good deal, but I only thought they would be worth about 50, Im an Iskar Monk And I like it a lot, but I perfer Chiped Velium Necklace more 4AC 4Str 30HP)
There are ppl asking 500p for these on Karana but my guess is they will be waiting a long time others sell them for 10p
After reading this post I went to sell my spare collars to a vendor for the 200+ plat. I was only offered about a plat from the vendor.
whoa why would you like chipped better? at low lvls ac and hp=king this has 30hp too but 3 more ac which would equal about 24hp more. note: ac doesnt give you hp it just lets you take less damage.

Ulthork Hide Collar is MUCH better than a Chipped Velium Amulet for a monk. It is not worth it to give up 3AC to gain 4 Str.
If you are constantly giving up AC for +stats, you are doing yourself and those you group with a disservice.
Stat bonuses are gravy. AC, HP, and if you're dealing with casters, resists are the meat and potatos for a melee class.

Where does the helm drop?? The stats on it suck, but if you are a barb this is what you want, on barbs ONLY, this looks like a big gold plate helm, from the side it looks kind of scary.
They removed the graphic on the helm... I THINK it is still there for the items which "share" the tizmal/ulthork look (i.e. arctic wyvern, which is just a really blue version of it). I remember when someone gave me the item and I ran around with it and a full set of black iron on and got lots of compliments ;) sure I had no ac but my stuff looked sweet!
And it wasn't a "Gold plate helm" as you said, it looked like an orange thing with weird tusks in front.
A similar nerf fate went to the shaman Plane of Growth Helm, which had its graphic removed "used to look like a WOLF's head, and mad-cool at that)

Drops from the Ulthork Warriors... I've got two right now on Xegony, on my cleric. I'll see if I can't get a Barb to try one on for me, just to see.

Last night I sold one of these to a monk for around 1,500pp (actually had him, another monk, a rogue, and a warrior of all things all outbidding each other for it). Anyways, these things are rare drops from Ulthork Man-O-War's. And let me tell ya, they are one MEAN critter to fight. They have around 2,000 to 2,500 hitpoints, hit for 100+ damage, and resist spells ALOT. Their level is no less than 40 and tops out around 42 to 43 (commonly are around 41 to 42). They also drop the tunic and leggings, but I have yet to see either from them (just 1 collar out of 20 man-o-war kills).
I beg to differ on the toughness of these guys I quad kited them with walrus from 38 to 42 and i am still not done with them yet. yes they do have that many hp but i dont even bother slowing them at first because i needed the mana now because once in a while you get a resist.
I have seen only 1 collar in i don't know how many kills lets put it this way 1 collar and 26 tusks if you can figure out how often tusks drop then you will get an idea of how often this thing drops.
The area is great because it is a rare occasion when someone else shows up to hunt and even then with quadding there is still plenty to go around.

Yeah, sounds like a good replacement for the Collar of Undead Protection.

Just got one of these. As to The Man o Wars resisting spells, well heheh, I'm lvl 40 and they didn't resist me much. Takes a long time to kill though. They con white and yellow to me at present, but great exp and great items!

this looks quite good for monks, good weight, good hp, and the minus to mana doesn't matter at all to us.

Nice item for rogues also. I had been trying to get a runed lava pendant but with the nice AC and hp on this I can live with a little less strenght.

I've got a Runed Lava Pendant, I'm going to try and get one of these to replace it. Yes I'm an AC ****, with 1000+ AC at level 50, I rarely get hit for full damage from mid-low blues.
