Befallen was once the stronghold of the Order of Marr's Fist. Now it is home to an evil energy that seeks to destroy all light and life, a mighty force that tempts the evil and power-hungry of the world with promises of power whispered to them as they sleep. In truth, these promises are a trap, for even the blackest of hearts can not compare to the darkness within Befallen. More than once, a villain has been lured to this fell place and bound permanently within it. Within this underground tomb living creatures are slowly, inevitably driven mad, and the dead are given a second, vile semblance of life. Creatures trapped within Befallen have their own hierarchy based on their relative power and the favor of the darkness that dwells there. Currently Befallen is commanded by Redak Brokenskull, an undead troll who came to the bunker in hopes of taking its power for his own. Once trapped within, he had to overcome the original agent of darkness (a zombie called Gynok Moltor) and its dark elf agent, Lord L'Rodd. Once in control, Redak made a pact with a group of gnome necromancers to trade their service for the secret of granting unlife. Since the dread gnomes have moved into Befallen it has been remarkably quiet, yet no one trusts that to last long.
Got it out of boredom

Was in befallen to get my pick lock skill up. Got bored eventually and, since the zone was empty, I decided to kill some mobs (eventhough they were all green). Saw the troll and kicked his behind hard. Dropped the sword, I picked it up. Continued to get my skill up afterwards. Pick lock 11-101 and a few dead mobs in 1 hour; not bad though.
Firiona Vie

A note for those on Firiona Vie....

If you want the BBC, the Troll Shadow Knight cons green to a level 24, so that puts him at about 19 or 20. I just finished camping him for 3 hours (twice) to find out that even after I PURPOSELY de-levelled (I was 3 bubbles into 25, thinking that at 24 he would con blue), I could not get the loot due to the Trivial Loot Code (TLC).

Contrary to what I have read before, clearing the entire room DOES NOT increase his spawn rate, just keep clearing his little alcove. Be careful if you get runners....if you are lower than level 24, they will aggro the other baddies pretty bad.

And for those of you on other servers, on Firiona Vie good loot is hard to come by, so yes, it might SOUND crazy that I delevelled to try to get the BBC--but we don't have people giving away BABS or Axes of the Iron Back here...you actually have to get these yourself at the level they were intended...27-30ish. And, you only have a limited number of levels to acquire the stuff too........unless you actually LIKE sitting in a town and auctioning for stuff you wanna get.

....and don't get me wrong....I wouldn't trade Firiona Vie for any other server...it's the BEST!!

Not sure if theres a server difference here, but I just looted this thing on Povar while camping the 2 drops for my monk epic. Lvl 30 Druid and Lvl 30 Monk. NOTHING aggros you at 30 except the elf skel in Befallen. I was even PL'ing a guild cleric by pulling skels and ghouls and I could pull right past all the necs in there.

The differance is FV is all trivial Loot code.

i got one of these on my 15 wood elf war and it hits for 28-29 and i have double attack so thats a good 50 damage every 4 seconds, thats ok in my book, i have a axe of the iron back too but i dont use it cause it looks gay
Don't use it, unless...
# Jun 14 2001 at 2:19 AM Rating: Default
The BBc is slow, and it is -8 agi!
Use Axe of Iron Back if possible. It deals the same damages at level 10-19 , and it is quicker.

Of course, Ace of Iron Back costs you 50 pp, but BBC costs 15 pp only.

If you can not afford an Axe of Iron Back, and really need a magical weapon to hunt wisps, then BBC is the best weapon will be the best weapon.
Well it's not worth that much

The Bone Bladed Claymore, is a very common weapon and drops commonly. You find many newbies with this weapon. It's max hitting is up to 20dmg. That's prtty good, but how about all the times you miss? You could trade a Dwarven Ringmail Tunic for one of these, and it would be a bad trade. It's very common, plus the stats on it are very bad. You would want to sell this dude for like 10pp.
#Anonymous, Posted: Jun 05 2001 at 11:18 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) HEY THERE SLICK. I THINK YOU HAVE THE WRONG WEAPON IN MIND THERE. FOR ONE IT ONLY DROPS FROM ONE NPC IN BEFALLEN THAT IS ABOUT A LVL 25 CHARACTER, AND EVEN THEN IT IS A RARE DROP. ALSO I HAVE USED IT BEFORE AND GET ABOUT 28-29 POINTS A HIT. NOT TO MENTION IT CRITICAL HITS IN THE 60'S. AS FO THE MISSING YOU HAVE TO BUILD UP YOUR SKILL IN 2HS, AND AS WITH ANY WEAPON THE MISSES WILL GO DOWN.

This is a good low level sk weapon. I used one for a few levels way back when i was a lowbie. It is good to get a serp bracer to offset the agility hit you get from the bbc. Every non-twink sk should use this weapon below level 20.
Don't even think about this
# Apr 19 2001 at 10:19 PM Rating: Decent
Ok everyone... don't even use this unless its replacing a shiny brass halberd or some rusty weapon... just buy an Axe of the Iron Back for cheaper than what the average price on this BBC is!

I agree Korgann, but some play pure (un-twinked) and this weapon is great for the level needed to get it w/group.

As weapons go, it's not so great...but if you are pure (bless you) then go for it :)
Damage

The damage you cause is affected by how high your strength is, not your level at such a low time. I still do want this weap though.

I'm afraid you are wrong. Damage is affected by the damage caps, which limit the weapon damage of a weapon under lvl 10 to the equivalent of a 10 damage weapon, and under level 20, to the same as a 14 damage weapon.

It is true that high strength increases the damage you do, but if you had say 150 str, at level 9, your max hit would be about 28pts with this. once you hit lvl 10, it would jump to 36, and at lvl 20 it would jump to 42. Same weapon, same strength, but no more damage cap.
I have one.

Some friendly, yes friendly dark elf came up to me at level 3 or 4 and gave it to me. After which he just ran away. I have a ogre warrior and after getting this weopon he went from level 4 to 11 1/2 with three days of fighting, about 18 hours of play. And I can take yellows on by mayself with ease and that is only with cloth armor. You have to get this if you can. Causes major dmg about 30 a hit at level 11.
