I have seen some of the profiles from peeps who post them on here. One was a peep in this post(forgot name) but they had ac in the 1400pt range. Too bad that EQ uses an effective ac cap. For bards its either 1150 or 1250. Most of the other gear had stats on it that made it worth wear, even if the extra ac means next to nothing after the effective ac cap. Only other classes i know the cap for are pure casters(nec, ench, mage, Wiz) and that is 800ac. just a little info for the masses. Hunt well all
This BP isn't bad, I got one last night AFTER 9 hours and the song of travel lasted 4-5 mins, The effect isn't the best but if you are going LD every 10 minutes while traveling the invis holds on long enough for us to disappear I don't care what everyone else thinks, This BP is pretty good
Pre-luclin this Bp looked so much better than it does now. It used to be eye-catching and unique, as were almost all of the Velious armors. Now all the armor has lots of details but still looks totally blah/similar.
When I did this, I found that my human ranger with his Ry`Gorr BP actually looks cool, instead of looking just like every other newb with banded. Unfortunately, you can't post small screenshots in this forum, but I'll see if I can get a full suit of Ry`Gorr armor on him and post something in the fashion pics.
Like all the other BPs for bards with the same effect, Selo's Song of Travel, its triggered not permanent.
A very sweet BP indeed, I am fortunate enough to have obtained one last night in PoG. This however droped off a tree named Fayl Everstrong not a Serene Forest Spirit.
The BP looks very cool, silver with brown runish looking etchings and silver chain underneath around the neck. This is how it looks to me with the Luclin models on.
Just saw a pic of this armor action on a wood elf male..looked TRICK! hehe, didnt look like ry'gorr or velious plate on a woodelf; is there a third velious armor graphic that i've missed all these years? If there was a lesser armor with this similar armor skin id start a new woodie just to dress him, looked that damn cool. Hot-diggity,
Singing Steel is better. The effect on this BP is so dumb that just today I passed on it (I being the senior bard) to another bard without a contest. I don't even wear my melodic legs, since singing steel oddly enough is better.
Only piece of melodic I think it worth it, is the helm, and *maybe* bracer. The arms are decent, but nothing to write home about.
Face it, there's better somewhere else. PoG isn't bard friendly.
This breastplate might be second to the SS breastplate, in your bizarre world. The fact is, its indespensible in mine. You claim that the Singing Steel one is better, well it damn well better be. Its dropped off Trakanon andthis is dropped off simple mobs in Growth.
BTW, as Gaillodar stated NO DROP makes this BP so much more valuable than a SS BP because you put the SS BP on and your brother ganks you and takes it, and immediately trades it for 7-8 ORS's.
SS sucks. You only wear it in the bank because thats the only place that it is illegal to murder someone. And that doesn't include the HHK bank, thats fair game.
I can't imagine why you'd think that this sucks, even on a carebear server. Do you people not fight caster mobs? Are resistances useless?
How does 2 more AC, 8 Magic Resistance and 2 to all other Resists equate to being worse than Singing Steel?
Yeah, the effect sucks. So does the effect on the SS BP. Considering I can heal THE WHOLE PARTY faster with Cantana and a Lute in the casting time it takes to do a single 100 point heal on myself.
If you actually "were" the Senior Bard, then you were dumb to give this up. The only thing bad about it is the lame look.
BAH!! Comon guys, on rallos, this BP is the best, as it is no drop.. All no drop stuff sucks on 2blue" servers, but roxxxors on rallos and the race servers..
Please try to post information and not just span. Many people use this site for researching not to go HOLY COW or OMG. Yes its a great addtition for bards, but not to use 16 useless comments Anyways, not sure about the color myself but its dropped by the Sanguine Kodiak, some **** 50 something bear.
Would be kind of a kick in the pants if the plane of growth had quests t odo the armor for the 'good' races, but the evil ones had to kill npcs there to get their armor....
Gloves of Earthcrafting for druids comes from a PoG quest. +12 wis along with other stats make the gloves an excellent item. Quest doesn't really involve traveling all over either, but it does involve killing Vindi in Kael to get his head. You also need the heads of the three priests that wander WL, which can be taken down a lot more easily than Vindi can. Note: you must be lvl 55+ in order to do this quest or your items will be eaten by the NPC since he states that he's looking for a "Preserver" or an "Outrider" to help when he gives out the quest.
a kick in the pants for who? surely not a kick for the evil races... keep in mind that these kinds of quests generally involve traveling all over and killing many high level mobs...
Yep, there are two POG quests that would be nice for wood elf rangers. The ring requires you to get a drop from the plane of mischief. I've never seen someone who had one. The helm requires you to camp Kael for a long time, but is worth it.
As most of us know, they really messed up bards (weapons and songs), this must be their way of saying sorry, and helping out. This with that new bard epic weapon would be a nice combo, huh?
Maybe 47-50ac will be what everyone will see on the new warrior bp, with how AC on items usually works with Hybrids and Warriors. The Singing steel BP is 40ac, so this isn't like some unplausible item.
