Guardian Robe  

 

I want to confirm it does still drop post Era on TLPs. Yelinak is currently on the Gate of Discord expansion and I spent a little over 10 hours killing the 5 listed spawn locations of the A Gargoyle Guardian and A Golem Guardian before mine finally dropped.

Got mine today after only an hour of camping. I killed the 5 mobs mentioned previously:

1 Golem Guardian in Banker Treval's room
2 Gargoyle Guardian in vestibule before pool room
1 Golem Guardian in room right after Ziglark Whisperwing's new room
1 Golem Guardian in "stairs" room with Sentry Rotiart

the respawn time is 19 minutes and 40 seconds. After 4 spawn cycles, the robe dropped from a gargoyle guardian. I LOVE the look of it. I'm a ranger, but with dark elf illusion, it looks awesome (much cooler than the shade silk robe I was using before).

Feb 1st 2008, just dropped off Gargoyle Guardian(not Guard) after 3 kills! :D and it IS still ALL/ALL, >>>DOES NOT SHOW UP AS A ROBE ON RACES THAT CANNOT BE ENC/MAg/WIZ/NEC!!!<<< it shows up as the last chest armor you were wearing or nothing at all, very disappointing.

does this robe still drop post-re-vamp? (confirmation needed)
if so off which mobs?

I have been hunting the pool room (Zone point from CS) for about 2 weeks now, 4 or 5 times a week, 3hrs at a go...I have practically a full suit of Guardian Armour for my Warrior (not that he needs it but the Girdle and shoulders are decent, plus the Legs have good resists) I am after this robe for Enchanter (High Elf in leather look ad keeps gettting asked for Res's..ahem) but have had no luck so far. Anyway some hints on this room.

- At 52 about 50% of the mobs are blue, 25% cyan and the other 25% green.

- The Guardians are the only things I have seen that drop the armour, Gargoyles have yet to drop any.

- Loot isn't bad, average 4pp each, adds up quite fast, some gems (occasional Ruby) a few of the more common drop spells, and Velium pieces (sell well in the bazaar but are heavy)

- Avoid Suez (Drake) and his friends in the far corner as well as drakes and sentinels in the next room, beyond the portcullis. If the pool room is giving good exp these guys will be a real handful.

- Gargoyles behind Portcullis (closest to zone point) are single pull-able. Just ease into the room slowly and to one side, as soon as you see one move, back out. The passage past these is a safe place to camp and bind (so far) There seems to be a mouse targetting problem when in these corridors.

- The Sentries at the other Portcullis are also single pullable, take them from the right side (so avoiding Suez's gang) take Drahs first then Maof. Make sure you pull Maof to the right side of the room, do NOT run around the right and then over to the left where you zoned in, pathing will mess up and he'll warp past Suez and bring him along for the ride. Suez is a mid 40's Enchanter. Maof is a cleric, in his highest level state (40 at a guess) he can CH. The scond Gaurdian on that side (Salva) is also a Cleric doesn't reach the level to CH...that I have seen yet.

- Everything in here has innately high MR, especially now after last patch...finding that snares stick more but DoT's get more resists.
Tash everything first if you have an Enchanter.

- Bring any plate wearing Alt's along, if you spend time here you will end up letting bits of armour rot ,maybe also chain wearers too, the Sentry armour is pretty good (although it appears much rarer) some of this is dropable and also sells well.

- I have seen 2 Breast Plates (rare, apparently) and let rot untold girdles, shoulders and arms (the most common of the drops) I am thinking I may never see a Robe and if I get a Helm for my Cleric (lost one due to Server Crash and Roll Back) then I may just give up...Don't expect to get one within a few hours, of course if you do, then WTG and I hate you :¬) but if you have a group of 51's and under the room will be good exp, not bad loot and you'll max kromzek faction in a week.

This robe is a fun toy i am gona try to get. most of the illusion masks make you into a race with robe graphics. <exceptions are the two realy hard ones barb and cat> So if you take that Book of Souls and a opal stien or something and you are now look like a caster. This would be great for PvP server :)

I was in Sky Shrine for a Day killing Guardians in the Pool room, and some Deeper in when i was feeling lucky. i'm a 59 wizard and i only want this robe because i'm sick of those old Green ugley robes, eg: "Froggy, Jumpey robes" ick.... anyhow sofar i have managed to suit up my level 24 SK with almost full guardian armor - the pants. But in all this killing i have not seen MY ROBE " GUARDIAN ROBE" dropp yet. I think this must be really rar. i was ally with CoV and went down to dubious. spent 4 hours in Kael in the arina and I'm back to Kindley at least. I'm probably going to have to take a few more faction trips at this rate.

Me and few others have been camping the CS room in skyshrine for a couple days for xp/loot/faction and one of theese finally dropped last night. Too bad our wizzy and chanter had already logged, and me being the only int caster would have gotten the robe if I wasn't already wearing one :)

So we let our female pally loot it. Now wearing this, with soulfire in one hand, and a book (not sure name of this item) in the other hand she looks like the statue of liberty LOL! Very funny, i wish i could post a screeenshot.

I know there has been a lot of back and forth arguementation on the drop rate of these (trust me I did read the whole board before posting) but I'm considering trying to camp the robe with a 52 necro and a 50 druid and I wanted to see what the drop rate was on this robe? Is there actually any rarity to it or is all the armor just total random drop?? I just want to get a concensus on this question

hi all im a mage @ 51 wearing an ishva robe. i feel like an enchanter and definately want a change... this robe looks perfect for me, for a very long time, and decided to ***** my cov faction for a while and camp it...

now a question, if i farmed the guardians near the cs zone, and in the rooms before the room with the cs zone, how long do you think it would take till one dropped? any feedback is appreciated, thanks

also how well does it match gebs?

Went dungeon crawling as my Nec needed a Robe update. Hmm, same stats as a FBCR except 2 less to a couple saves, 5 more mana, and STA rather then STR. Only thing is on a DE it makes you look like you do in an Oracle Robe, different look but not overly flattering. I put it on a par with an FBCR (doesn't look as good) and much better then an SMR. FYI the two of us camped about 10 spawn points (mix of Sents and Guardians), probably spent about 8 hours over two nights before one dropped, I was very happy to get out of there. So we probably killed 70-80 Guardians before it dropped (approx 30 minute spawn), but it was worth it. And if you are there for EXP many times MOB's dropped 4-6PP per kill, better money then SF or BW.
