This just drops off of a mob involved with the Necromancer epic, it is not part of the quest itself. I have completed the epic 1.0 quest, got my epic, and did not have to turn in this ring. I still have it. Sorry for the 4 year old addition, heh. Cleaning out crap from my bank, and wondered what this was.

So I am a little confused. I have re-read the necro epic walk through and I dont show that this is needed for anything. Is this just a secondary reward for getting that far?

This ring drops off a mob who is part of the Necromancer Epic quest.

First do all the parts prior to this part, see the quest somewhere else on this site, then get the herbs from the Herbalist in Chardok. Give to quest npc and three mobs will spawn. Kill them with your friends. This ring drops off one of them, can't remember which :)
But prolly the golem as is stated here on this page.
