I try to click this item for an illusion of being a tree, but all I get is
You are unable to change form here.
The spell lands, rooting me for 36mins (I can click it off) but the
illusion won't stick in most places I try.
Is this thing good for anything other than being a memento of spending too
much time in the casino? (I buy these from the merchants there.)

This is NOT a hard thing to get. I get it off the Magician looking guy. ALL THE TIME. One note to take is I always bet 4 tokens. I have gotten the Snakefingers (AWSOME thing to have)off the ranger guy. Great for pulling. From what I have found betting 4 seems to be best bet to get the good stuff.

i have been trying to get this for a few weeks now and finally got it. i clciked it and the illusion buff showed on the box but my character stayed the same and i did not look like a tree.... am i supposed to turn into a tree? i am upset a bit...

Id like to point out according to the Lucy data for this spell, there is no regeneration effect.
I would imagine that this confusion started around mistaking this spell effect with that of , which does add regen.
That said, this is a fun little item. As a rogue who collects clicky items and illusion items in particular, this was a wonderful little prize I never thought I would be able to find (pre-casino). :)

Well, Spirit of Oak (the spell you linked above), would be in the line of the one confusion would've resulted from. Druids have a Treeform spell, which is likely what this spell may be confused with. Treeform does offer regeneration; it's the Druid tree-illusion spell. "Illusion: Tree", on the other hand, is the Enchanter's version.
This goes for about 10K, in the Bazaar on Povar. I'd get it just for the regeneration effect, if it wasn't so outrageously priced, or actually had some other use once the charges were depleted.
How the heck do ya recharge this this, someone told me that you can in Nerak but I have no clue to if it is true or not. Someone please post the truth about how to recharge this thing. Because no matter how pointless it is, its still damn cool!
If they said it could be recharged in neriak then they are confusing this with the froglock illusion stone that is recieved in Neriak and is recharged there.

I'm one of those warriors that can never have enough clickies. Its really sad when you get to the point that you can fill all 15 of your buff slots by yourself and still have more clickies that you haven't used yet. Anyway, this is one of those obscure treasures that nobody seems to have ever heard of. Those that will take the time to look it up will probably think nothing more of this than a toy with no practical use. For the most part that's right... being a tree doesn't do much for you anymore... Being a tree used to make you indifferent to almost anything but undead but in many zones it doesn't seem to make much of a differnce anymore.
One of the benefits of this item that most people overlook is the self root effect. I like to think of this effect as a 36 minute self root that also makes you look like a tree. What benefit could that possibly have you ask? Consider mobs that fear... when a mob fears you, you are going to run away from it uncontrollably. Spirit of Wolf / Eagle complicates things even more since you will run farther away before the fear wears off. When you are feared its easy to run off and get aggro and possibly even wipe your raid. If you are standing in front of a mob in treeform it can fear you all it likes and you will not move an inch... when fear wears off you just turn back around and continue fighting. I remember back in my younger years when we used to kill Wuoshi they would tell everyone to turn RUN off and click off your sow because of the fear. This item solves that for you, especially if you are doing ranged damgage and having the mob move a bit doesn't affect you much. This same scenario would also apply to mobs that charm... if you are charmed you will not be able to melee attack your group because you are rooted. The nice part about the root effect is that you can click it off whenever you choose and the effect is INSTANT. Now in order for this item to be practial you really need to get two or three of them and keep them recharged. Granted, this item will not work indoors and its application is somewhat limited but some of us like to prepare for anything, just my 2cp.

I am pretty sure that when you are feared your illusions drop. You might want to make sure.
