I wonder...Wizards get a spell called Harvest, it's considered a "heal" spell, it stuns you and gives a certain amount of healing. Wonder if improved healing would have any effect on it.
Well I know Necromancers & Mages will get some use out of the focus effect. As for the rest of you caster types consider this payback for all the times you pull agro and cost me my precious mana healing you.
Heh, you are absolutely right. This is the "caster" reward, but most of these classes wouldn't get any use out of the focus effect. If it was going to be a reward for the whole set of casters, perhaps they would've been better off giving it a FT effect (I know, they're everywhere now : )). A stun resist, or mana preservation would've been good for all caster classes too. Improved Healing really is limited to the classes that...ya'know...heal.
take a loot at all the items that are broken down into meele/caster items.... almost every caster item is usable by at least 1 class that gets no use of the effect... increase to fire spells no clerics... increase to dots no wizy or mage use.... you cant make every caster happy unless every item had ft and mana pres on it... and well then you would only need a couple items... in the long run this system gives people a chance at more effects or different effects than they normaly are going to have and it is nice to have the options...
Oh, I agree. They can't make the all the items suitable for everyone all the time. And in cases like this, I would just expect a wizzie or chanter (or anyone who doesn't care for this focus) to ignore this quest altogether. It was more just a comment on the classes versus the focus effect in this particular case...it's just kind of amusing. I'm actually glad they have as many classes on these so that players at least have the option of going after the items.
You are both incorrect on the use of this focus with especially mage's and necro's, as they both have healing spells for their pets and use them all the time while soloing.
