Just killed Vox, duo'd with my 52 merc warrior
52 cleric, 4100 hp unbuffed, 4400 mana unbuffed, 75 AAs (all the crappy useless ones)
200+ in all resists
Had a buddy of mine (85 necro, thank you!) clear out the priest, etc (took a few tries but we eventually got it)
then i pretty much went in, aggroed vox, let warrior take aggro, and burned her down, with the occasional Cheal to keep the merc happy.
was only feared twice during the whole fight (8ish minutes)
all in all, very easy fight. just get resists up, its probably the most critical aspect.

WTF? LMAO oh god I read this going, ok well I can just tell scribin he can buy one, then I read this post from some guy, and im like oh this guy tried to raid vox just like scribin did, then I read... scribin the scribe. Well its funner to win your items so well get that F'er tonight.

What cloak?? These scales are NOT used in the White Dragonscale Cloak quest. For that quest you use the HIDE. Please know what the hell you are talking about before opening your mouth.

telling me that a wizz or some other crap caster should loot an Bard epic piece for some cloak is just to pissing me and many others of....only reason i can see for this is greed....a caster knows that this cost 50-150k depending on what server and for those money they can easy get better gear than cloak....
this piece drops from gore and vox if im not totaly wrong and vox is 52 max lvled so your ported out if higher lvl making this an 52 max raid...cant bring Time equiped friend in and kill for easy looting and gore is almost instant killed by pallys for showoff and greed...
so let the bards have the piece when it drops...
yes greed is the end of all....

As Fallstarchade points out nicely in an old post, people need to grasp the concept that what is good for a bard, is also good for everyone they ever group with.
I know casters get ripped off in rolls a lot, but any class' epic should take precedence over non-epic items.
Were an item a part of a caster's epic, then they should take precedence over non-epic rollers too.

Can Vox or Gore drop more than one scale at a time? I've been taking my bard along to various dragon raids since I'm keeping her at 52 to keep my options open since although I can I don't want to have to pay 50k for the white scale.
So if anyone has killed either dragon, preferably Gorenaire and seen more than 1 drop can they post =D

White dragon SCALES are for bard epic. White dragon HIDE is for the cloak. Now on the arguement, 'who should get it', let's just put it this way. If you are bound by one illusive item that always drops, but is used in another quest, or use, but your epic is very dear to you, and mostly changes your class, making it better 3 fold, what do you think you're going to vote for?
And to the post before about 'our epic's haste doesn't me jack'. The faster the pieces of meat cut up means the less time it takes to nuke and/or heal the pieces of meat. So be happy. Our epic also gives back all that mana you casters like to use, faster. So don't say , 'our epic doesn't matter compaired to our cloak', because I know alot of people that rather have a barc with an epic than a wizard with a cloak. ^_^

Bard with epic during fight = more damage from bard (hes fighting). more damage from ALL melee (55% haste). More healing for all grouped (less heals for cleric, so more mana). More resistances increase (as if using drums).
Wizzy with cloak during fight = 25% more damage from 1 caster.
Hmmmm.

Now the item needed for the epic and the item needed for the cloak are different. No more arguements between bard and caster for this drop. However there will be alot more compitition for the white dragonscale cloak with it's new focus effect.
A friend of mine just bought me the scale I need for epic.. I think.. Is it suppose to say White Dragon Scales? Plural? If so why does Verant have such similarly named items?

What is difference between "white dragon scale" and "white dragon scaleS" (note the pluralization....does anyone know? I have both "white dragon scaleS" and "red dragon scaleS." I petitioned in game, and all the GM would tell me was that the "white dragon scaleS" were used on epic quest, and wouldn't tell me if it is used on the White Dragonscale Cloak quest. I have both on Cazic-Thule server.

I didn't know there is a white dragon scale (singular). but yes, the white dragon scales are used for the epic quest, and the same scale(s) is used for the white dragonscale cloak quest.
However, since the last patch, you can also use the white dragon hide for your epic.

I think you mean, the white dragon hide can be used for the cloak quest. The hide cannot be used in the Bard epic.

But it's still a piece of equipment, an upgrade to what you have, if you will. So how is it THAT much different from any other good piece of equipment? Of course everyone wants to have their epics, but if it's an open raid, then casters should be able to roll for the scale too because the cloak is great. If you are a bard and looking for the scale, organize a raid with your guild or friends and reserve the scale. But if a bard is just a participant on an open raid, then the scale should be rolled for by any class that will most benefit from it. Otherwise, why have that cloak quest in a first place??

Hmm, yeah, I am sure that a druid would enjoy watching warriors, paladins, and shadow knights rolling on jade reavers so they could use them as two-handed slashers.

I suppose if a group of people without a bard killed Gorenaire and it dropped a white scale, they might /random it so someone could do the quest or sell the scale to a bard doing their epic quest, but any decent group of people would /random it among the non-epic bards participating in the raid if it weren't already reserved.

The bard epic generates permanent haste for the entire group.
It also doubles up as ANY instument that a bard might want to play hence increasing song proficiency as well as allowing the bard to melee for increased damage instead of swapping instruments.
This cloak that you speak of; it is a 9 Wis 9 int cloak? that equals how much mana? Like 100 or so at level 60? So in other words hardly one nuke....
I think the tanks would appreciate the haste more than a wizard or mage who has other items to boost his ego with.

You won't be taking down vox after you get the scale, so how does it help the int casters? It doesn't.
Two things. First, if they don't change it tonight, the white dragon scale cloak has affliction eff3. That mean 25% less mana spent on DoT's, snares, and possibly ever slow's. ANy negative spell effect that lasts longer than 36 seconds. While it remains to be seen if this will help with mezz, charms, tash, ect (VI is fickle) it does make this item godly to necro's. Hell better than our epic IMO. I'd rather spend 25% less mana on every DoT than have one DoT for free. So with that in mind who gets the scale becomes more of a balance field.
Point two. Unless your on an open raid, this item is usually going to go to the Bard. At a guild event, you have to think of what is best for a guild. And lets face it a Bard has more to offer on a raid than a Necro. Trust me, I know, I play a Necro.
I'd be bummed if I never got a shot at this, but in a good guild I'd like to see the bard get his epic before I got the cloak.

Heh, if i ever get my grubby little fingers on that scale, it's going straight to Rathe Mountains. There isn't enought wizard equippment as it is, and we get shafted on dragon raids. Heh, there are only 3 itmes I can benefit from on a vox raid: white scale, book of scale, and the eye-patch. Are you going to ask me to random for the eye patch if I'm the only wizie on ur vox raid? Oh wait, u already do... with EVERY other int and wis caster present. Thats a lot of clerics, chanters, necros, druids, mages, shamen, and wizies that have the eye-patch up for grabs, while them %&^* bards and palys get free reign over the book and the scale. Same thing with Naggy, except that there I get to be told that I can't roll on the CoF because I'm not a melee class.... even tho I can use it. GRRRRRRRRR! People **** me off.
What are you going to wear a CoF for? Fire resists? What a waste of a piece of gear.

is this used for the book of scale quest? vox half of the book of scale, but i dont know what it is called. naggy drops the other half. i thought it was the book of frost, but it is not list of what she drops. anyone know about this?

no reference anywhere else says that nortlav drops this... all sources say he only drops the red scale
