Just saw tis drop from a Buccaneer in Seafury isle.

These also plentifully drop off old sharks in Ocean of Tears as well.

Shark skins are also used for turn in in N Freeport , Theron Rolius say something like "fishing duties" to receive the container to combine then in.
Since we're chiming in and singing the multiple uses for the regular, stackable shark skin, I figure I'll put in my 
use for it:
Magi (Azia) spell runes = quill, parchment, Topaz gem, Shark skin, and Brownie parts
Magi rune is the highest set you can train your Research skill without using actual spell research pages or practices at the GM. Trivial for the completed Magi rune has been stated in various posts at either 175 or 182.

The stackable shark skin is used for the Leatherfoot Raider's Cap quest.
If you turn in the unstackable version, he'll give it back to you.

te lore shark skin is for a quest in the paladin in erudin. you tell the weligon steelherder i will hunt diseased sharks then he gives you a bag. you put the lore shark skin plus 3 baby shark remains in the bag the turn back to him to get the barnacle breast plate. the diseased shark the spawns by the dock what drops the lore shark skin, if not up kill regular skins to get the diseased one to spawn

There are two types of shark skin. One type is non-stackable and lore, while the other type is stackable, non-lore.
In case that seems a little redundant to specify that the second type is both stackable and non-lore, there are stackable-but-lore items in the game. Innoruuk's Kiss of Death is one such.
