Sythik confirmed that Razortooth still spawns and that the quest is can be completed in January, 2016. No word if this was regular or progression server (or if that would make a difference).

Just finished the quest and received my pole, so still works. Took about two hours of constant killing of all the Spikefish spawns to get Razortooth to spawn.
Updated stat's on the pole:

It's a weapon, and most weapons typically get type 4, not type 7.
On Razortooth? I have been on and off camping him for about 2 months now...love the zone, hate the camp. I want to kill JoJo and Gongo for their respectives loots. Before my factions goes to pot, I wanna know if anyone has gotten this lately! Thanks

This is the third-lowest delay 1hb weapon listed on the site. The Moss-covered Twig no longer drops, and the Sprinkler of the Spirits is a super-uber priest-only item that drops in the Temple of Veeshan. Therefore, it is THE lowest delay 1hb weapon that most people really have any reasonable chance of obtaining. Excellent for raising 1hb skill. To give you an idea, the attack animation is just _barely_ through when it swings again.
Unfortunately, it will only fit in the primary weapon slot. I had gotten this weapon because of it's super-low delay for raising dual weild and was dissappointed to find it would not go in my secondary slot. (Correction sent in, btw.)

I agree.
I intend to use this to whoop-daddy my caster friends (especially the Necro's /grin).
If I can find some enchanter to get me all jacked up on speed, then with this weapon and a high MR, I will be in 7th Heaven!
I was a little disappointed to find that you can't fish with this fishing pole, go figure.

Another reason why this would be good for levelling 1HB quickly is because of the low damage. When I mob gets low on health he turns to run. If he is snared he doesn't go anywhere. You can sub in this fishing pole and keep whacking him. The low damage means that you get to whack him a lot more before he dies.

I camped it for 3 hours then 5 hours then I bound myself there, logged in the next day and poof it was there when I got right into the water (go figure). So 8 hours, millions of dead spike fish, the only advice I would give someone camping this is to have a tracker with you so you can off spikefish and find them ASAP.

this would be a fun weapon for a rp or just for anyone lol. im gonna try and get it asap so i can start to train my 1hb in my downtime. if it is possible to fish with it i dont think i will cause i wouldnt want to break it =)

Everyone makes fun of me when they see me whaling on a MOB with my fishing pole :)

But the ribbing is hard to take :) I've only had it a day and everyone says something.
I've started saying things like:
"I will reel thine enimies in with reckless abandon!"
"May my hook tear at thy flesh!"

great fun wpn specially for pvp caster disruption. Plus people are always boggling when you fight with a fishing rod.

From what I hear you can't actually fish with it, it's just a weapon. Very nice weapon for raising 1hb skill.

Can you actually fish with this pole, or is it just a great fluff weapon for we few who have devoted our tradeskill time to fishing.

I have one. You can't fish with it. Also you can't get it at lev 1 like it says you need to kill Razortooth in Kerra Island which was blue to my lev 19 wiz and a very tuff fight. The fish is no drop lore you give to the guy in the boat behind tiger island for the pole. Hopefully they will make it so you can fish with it as well as battle in a future patch.
That would be handy to have a weapon that doubles as a fishing pole but...

That's pretty funny, but if they did make it so you can fish with this pole i don't think it would break. I killed the fishing Erudite just outside Kerra in Tox, looted his pole, lore no drop also, and have been using it since my fishing skill was 0 and it has never broke.
I've broken one of those poles off the erudite in toxx before, kind of bummed me out too since I had expected it not to and was in the middle of nowhere with time to kill when it happened. Fishing is really weird, my first character went to skill 87 before he broke his first pole and now I can't get fishing past 30 skill before breaking at least two. But I have to say that, besides the weird reactions from players, 17 delay is perfect for skill raising, especially if you just got dual weild or double attack, throw this in your hand and skill flies. I'm sure all you on PvP servers will love it for it's caster interrupt abilities and the fact that it's no drop too, make sure to swap it out if you take on someone with a damage shield though, ouch!
