Dropped today from "an ixt impulsor" in Kod`Taz. Level 65 mob, roaming around on the Eastern side of the zone.
This mob is not listed as a mob that drops it, but I just got one from it tonight

I've been hunting Ixt in KT for several days now. 84 kills and not a single tongue. Sometimes I think SoE doesn't want people to complete quests. I can understand uncommon drop rates and zone rares but this is stupid.
A ranger's life is truely to solo these worlds.
Ok after an Ikky 2 and a 3 run .. I finally got this off an Ixt Steelslayer in KT. Not counting the ones in the raids, it dropped on the 91st kill. Thank god it's over.

Just got one off of Pixtt Kerxek Vket - most unexpected and one very happy monk, didn't think I was ever going to see this tongue drop
Saw one drop from Taskmistress Krisz in Riwwi as well.

Just got this tongue from an ixt steelslayer in ikki 3 raid trial
in KT by the group 3 area and 3rd pull got it.. lol waste of a good group.. thought this was going to be the hardest one to get because its a little hard to solo here, but so far was the easiest.

For the record: I looted a tongue off an ixt steelslayer, so it seems any can drop, not just the listed above ixt's. Its simply just a matter of time.
Plan a few sessions hunting for tongue, unless you are simply very lucky.
I camped on the wall near the Summoners Event Ring on map. 3 Ixt path around the ring, and can be single pulled to wall. The Cragbeast and Hynids are Indif, and will leave you alone. The Ixt's pets will de-pop after about 30 sec.
I used my pet to tank (70 mag), and a 70 shamen to slow and heal. Worked fine. One Caution, if you are too close to wall, the rocks seem to auto duck you, so in the heat of the battle you can not cast, just be careful.
Hope this helps you get some tongue.

killed all of them around summoner camp, no tongue. soloable by paladin with 14500hp/2800ac, have shackles of tunare up (fast root) for emergencies as they hit over 1k. bring lots of heal over time/clarity/haste potions (HoTs are better than your own!), your ancient GoD stun, OoW stun, and AA stun work on ixts so you got a good chain going, just lack the dps because youre a PAL

This says its a "common" drop.... but it's far from common, I'd even go so far as to say "rare". I'd say of all the "non-raid" mobs needed for this quest, its by far the hardest to attain.
