Took a day and a bit on Fippy Darkpaw TLP, but I got my Shralok Pack! Yay for old school camping of old world items :-) I know it's far from uber any more, but I was getting rep I wanted as well, so I might as well have been camping where I'd get a useful item.
been hunting the orcs in high pass found out there is 2 Shralok Recfek and Vopuk. Shralok does drop the pack not sure about Vo. but a very high lvl player was hunting the orcs looking for a item. shinny brass idol could it be a drop item off Vopuk?
I have a level 45 rogue that was walking through High pass on the way back from inviting guy into guild in High Keep. I walk past orcs and get attacked, I was gonna run but Insted I thought them since they were not doing much to me. After killing 3 or 4 I see the named orc on my target and I was praying bag drops. After killed the rest of the orcs sure enough there is the bag. What luck. Not sure how rare this is but It was the easy for me. Two hits to kill the orc and its all mine. Now I have 3 good weight reduction bags =)
Also as other people said its no longer pending lore....
This be a rare drop of a even rarer mob. basically not sumething ur gonan get alot of. I have been able to get this in HiHpass and am currently testing if it drops in kitchkor.

Can we end all the debate by agreeing that we all abbreviate when typing. Dyslexia not withstanding, it is HiPass & HiKeep.....i hope that is simple, elegant and respectful.....now, let it go people.....

Id love to get one, my woodelf ranger is constantly struggling with encumberance. Not to mention most'giant' items are heavy. Overall this bag rivals many other supposidly 'better' bags. lvl to obtain, the container itself's weight, 25% is very nice and is not lore, you can have more then one, droppable and sellable. Ill bet you could get somewhere close to 500pp if you held out for it. I mean its pretty nice, especially 8 slot, giant ans the bags weight is damn nice.
my ranger just so happens to be hunting this exact spot, hope it chop him up. I might try to confirm if he does indeed pop on s/w kith... some mobs DO do that like kizdean gix used to be in WC and EC and other gixes "roam" to other zones. maybe its his offset spawn wjen not in highhold
Can get much better for 500pp... I would say this is worth about 250pp max these days... Bag of sewn evil eye sells for 350, and I sell ralic packs for 650pp al lthe time...
He spawns among the orcs in the south entrance/exit to HighPass Hold. You have to kill a lot of orcs to get him to spawn, but he'll spawn and come after you if you do.
"- Removed the "Pending Lore" tag from the Shralok Pack. There is no current plan to make this into a lore item."
Well... servers are still down, so I can't check but at least this old issue is put to rest. For me the service seems immediate, since I just found out about/bought this bag for my 45 monk the other day, but I imagine the road was a bit longer for others.
OKAY! These freaking people need to make up there minds'. This bag was the first NOT-NODROP weight reduction bag to ever drop(Except for tink bag but that was a GM event so it dont count) since EQ came out! From the time that this bag dropped, it became pending-lore 7 days after the first person looted the first one ever seen. Even now, after 4 expansions(will be 4 when Planes of Power comes out this upcoming month) its STILL pending-lore! Its like the completely forgot about it! I know so many people(including myself) who looted this item as their own first weight reduction bag and had many chances to loot it again... and again... and again... but don't because of those two damn words! PENDING LORE!
42nd Monk of Cazic-Thule 37th Necro of Cazic-Thule 31st Rogue of Bristlebane 23rd Shaman of Cazic-Thule
As of 5/26/2002 it is still Pending Lore On Ayonne Ro.
My lvl 15 cleric walked on in to HH, place was empty, looked around, saw Recfek's corpse, did a /shout LFG.....nothing. So I started looting. Of course Recfek was first. He only had 2 minutes left on him so I just about fell out of my seat when I saw he still had the pack on him. Some high lvl PC's must have killed the orcs and just left the body there.
This zone is HIGH PASS HOLD. Not HIGH HOLD PASS. For some reason almost every site and person who mentions this zone gets the zone name backwards. The hold is named after the pass, the pass is not named after the hold. When you zone in, it tells you "You have entered High Pass Hold." All the signs in West Commons, Kithicor, and the Karanas are labelled High Pass Hold. But for some reason people keep getting the zone name backwards.
Repeat after me: High Pass Hold, High Pass Hold...
They spawn in this order from Vopuk to Hagnis to Recfek. Now, the first time I killed Recfek today, I was lucky and he pop'd about 15 minutes into my camping there... However, I wanted to see how long it would be for the cycle. I waited through 2 simultaneous pops of Vopuk Shralok (that's right, he pop'd twice before any of his brothers ever pop'd). After Vopuk pops (twice) his next of kin will arise about 1 hour later. Sometimes a little longer. When Hagnis finally pops, count yer lucky stars, because this fool hits for 48hp easy with his Shiny brass halberd. Just be glad he's out of the way cuz his loot sucks (the halberd is crap...good luck selling it). At least Vopuk's drop is worth a lot of pp if you sell to the right person (up to 1k in instances! <the shiny brass idol>). Now, why are you happy that Hagnis has just pop'd and is now defeated? I'll tell you!
Recfek Shralok is about to pop in 45minutes! That's right! He pop's after his brother in under an hour, or about an hour! I've gotten the pack 3 times so far, and I can attest that this is indeed true. They always pop in this order, and from what I can tell, Vopuk pop's up at least twice before his brothers start to cycle in! Too bad the idol is LORE or else i'd be spending my time with Vopuk only! However, that's not the case..the pack is Pending Lore, therefore you can hold as many as you can fit in yer inventory.. (8 if you have no other bags). This bag sells easy for 500pp on Karana server, and some people have offered items that are worth 1kpp to 1.5kpp just for it. It's popular because it only drops 3 times a day!
You must be extremely lucky just to be online when Recfek pops and you also have to be extremely lucky to win the /random 100 200 (or whatever you use)! I'm extremely lucky! You can be too! If you're a higher level player (22+) you can probably start a group and tell them that you can join the group but that you are going to loot the rare pops and not random them. I did that tonight, it's worth it to set that up with yer teammates...and most of the time people don't care! They don't realize I guess..in any case, do what you can to increase your odds, but don't ninjaloot! that's lame. be fair..be up front. In any case, this guide will help you get the loot off all 3 brothers. Remember, the orc spawn area right near where the zone to the forest is! Enjoy & GOOD LUCK!
Was running through pass and checked track and refeck was up. ran to kithicor zone and was attacked . waited a sec to amke sure no one had him camped and killed him and got the bag. Nice item right place right time i guess.
I was trying to get HHP faction with my Iksar Warrior to save myself the 7 zone run to the Karanas. Since I just came from Kithcor I decided to camp the Orcs. Being Level 33 I took the orc camp, the ENTIRE orc camp. I've camped enough to get from scowls to dubious. In all that time I've only seen Hagnis spawn once and all he gave me was the SBH. Evidently the SBI and Pack are VERY VERY rare drop from an Exceptionally rare spawn. On the plus side I have a good short cut to the Karanas now :-)
Might I suggest an alternate route? Just by turning in about 400-500 bandages to Joogl Honeybugger in Misty Thicket (have to invis yourself or get someone to invis you through Rivervale) you can raise your faction with the halflings to go through their city (excpet druids and clerics, be careful of the clerics as you zone in from Kithicor, they're not very agressive, but don't push it, and keep an eye out for Ella Foodcrafter in Misty Thicket, she's poerful and annoying, but only stays on the path between the wall and Rivervael, and can be avoided pretty easily). Now from Kithicor, you can cross Rivervale into Misty Thicket, run over to Runnyeye, take the short route into the Gorge of King Xorbb, then a quick little trip north to East Karana. Not quite as fast as the trip through High Pass Hold (not Highhold Pass, for some reason even this site has the contangious dyslexia with this zone's name) but you can raise faction with Rivervale much faster than High Pass, and it's still better than the southern alternative. Turning in bandages can be done in one fell swoop (if you have the containers to hold about 25 stacks worth). You can even raise the RV druids if you kill enough goblins, but the druid guild is off to a side path in RV, the only druid you have to worry about is Ella in MT, and she can easily be avoided.
I always use this route. In fact, I often bank and shop in Rivrvale on trips across the continent. Think about it.
Of course, if you want to try for the pack, go for it. But if the only reason you're killing the orcs is for a shortcut, consider the Rivervale route instead.
Got this in my first 15 min camping with a group in highpass. Instantly had AT LEAST 6 people ******** and complaining to me about "how long they've been camping it" and how "I should just give it to them." The next few days in highpass were spent dealing with NooB's offering me 20pp or bronze armour pieces for it, then trying to disrupt my group's activities when I declined to sell to them. This pack should have a listed effect of making those who don't have it a-holes.
"The next few days in highpass were spent dealing with NooB's offering me 20pp or bronze armour pieces for it"
Hmmmm, the only reason they would even know you had it (thus bothering you) is if a) you announced that you had it or b) someone who was in your group started announcing that you had it. In the case of you announcing it, you get what you deserve. Why advertise unless you either a) want to make people jealous or resentful or b) you intend to sell it? *shrug* Just my opinion. I know that at lvl 54, I have to go /roleplay or /anon in some zones to keep people from sending me non-stop requests for PL when playing my shaman. Don't advertise, no problems.
