This is for the Monk Epic quest Purple Headband, not all monks want to kill a GM to get the purple headband. It is the fifth Headband quest.
They need this, and two more items and hand them in, forget what they are atm sorry, with the red headband to receive the purple one.

First I must correct my last post, I meant Black TOME with Silver Rune not Black Toe LOL. And I give starting casters Orbs of Echo Lore sometimes, but this is a better item for a oung castrer. Plus like I said, it's just fun to see some menacing character with a doll in hand.

It's not to great, my Black Toe with Silver Runes (Bought for 10pp) and Opal Enscrusted Stein (Got as a gift) beats this by a lot, I keep it on me just for the fun of seeing a Iksar Necromancer running around with a little doll in his hand.

i remember when Brell first opened, i looted one of these and sold it for 20pp and was the richest man alive lol

Bicrius is right, this item is perfect for starting casters. The +20 mana bounus is huge at lvls 1-3 and may get you out of your first tight jams. I always give them away to aspiring casters when I find them.

This is a nice way to get +mana for low level chars... but after about level 8 or when ever you can get something with more int/wis/mana give it to some level 1 you see.
