Myself a and a few friends have been campin the lil gnomie for a few days now...we have got her to spawn 6 times total in 3 days of camping, mabye 4 hours a day, tops. 2 of the times she has droped the stone, which is pretty damn good and lucky if you ask me....
I so far have spent 6 days waiting for her and still no GBS. I killed her around 10 times and varsoon twice. It is annoying, but ill be camping her until I get one. Which I hope is soon.
Saw the little gnome for the first time the other morning. I snared her to get her attention and ran up to hack her down, figured i might die but i would get the GBS before I dropped. Ended up i killed her before i could even switch weapons, yes I am tweaked but hey my monk works hard to make it that way :) So anyway i finaly got what i had been camping for since lvl 13, I am now 17, and figured that i would just head on over to EC and get me some new weapons and maybe raise my fletching some more, currently 167. So of course i can't find a druid or wiz to TP me, they were all rather upset that someone less than half thier lvl killed her and got the only GBS to drop that day, but hey a little excercise never hurt anyone made of 1's and 0's. So i finaly get to EC and now i can't sell the damn thing. oh well anouther item to go into the bank till i get bored enough to sit around and auction again.

Posted:Jun 13 2001 at 9:15 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I am a lvl 30 ranger, Buzzen. I also have a lvl 30 warrior. I saw what level the mob was and was like... what a great opportunity to make some dought with maybe a day's time. I camped Pyzjn and during my outing I... got KS'ed twice by arrogant lvl 50's+, killed Pyzjn 12 times, was there for about 26 hours straight and what to show for it? A velvet choker. 3ac 5hp. That dropped off of Varoos (?) when he died, but I died also from DoT. I am literally quitting the game because of stupid farms like these. They wanted it to be a roleplaying/fantasy game. What party of sitting in front of a comp moniter for 26 hours waiting for some stupid little item to drop... spells Fantasy? This game is a waste of time and I would heavily advise something more realistic. (Except for all your 24/7 chatters out there, maybe this is your game).
okie everyone. im a dork. i heard about this item and said "hmmmm level 13 necro? me's a 37 mage. dum-de-de ill just hang around qeynos hills, and kill the ph's till she spawns and i get my gbs. i wont be bored, i have gems ;P"
AHHHHHH ive been here in qeynos hills collectively for over 50 hours! thats 50 hours of my real life gone forever!
she spawned 7 times, one of which was ksed by some little level 10 wizard. and varsoon poped 4 times as well.
none of the spawns had the stinking glowing black stone.
what do you think people? should i keep doing this camp or should i give up? all the posts ive read, people got their gbs's with ease. what do you think? thanks.
i would like to add to my original post. it is now 1 week since i began my camp and i finally got my gbs. it was definately worth the effort. took 8 pyzjn spawns but i got it!
I'm gonna camp her till I get the stone....already killed her twice with no luck in the same EQ night...Been told lucky to get that rate of her spawning..but unfortunately no GBS yet ....gonna go back and camp it again.
Falcane Skybolt lvl 20 Wizard of the "League of Nonalinged Wizards" Erollisi Marr Server
Hello i am a lvl 17 barbarian warrior from the previous post, a lvl 20 that said they destroyed pyzjn, I have come to wonder what her lvl actually is and i am wondering what class she is because she has a pet but is a halfling, even though npc's can be whatever. So please, please, please, tell me what lvl she is
why does this say that you must be lvl 25 to attain. I am a lvl 20 necro, and every time I see pizjn I crush her. Even with all the skeles attacking me and interrupting my spells she is easily killed. Unfortunately I still havent gotton the damned stone yet. Oh well theres always tomorrow to try again
With regards to my previous post, in consideration for much players are willing to pay for the GBS (need to visit EC for a Price Check to find out average on Ayonae Ro server -- will post my findings) it would be far sensible for me to sell the GBS, and use the proceeds to purchase a variety of items for my fledging chanter of 11 seasons.
Currently, on my wish list: (1) Batskull Earrings +7 Int
Performing the Stein of Moggok quest when I reach 12 seasons, allowing me to purchase the DE illusion spell (fundamental for non-evil races/or if you are a HIE) will provide me with a +10 Int item to offset the GBS. Then, I shall have to compile further items for my wish-list by keeping my ears open on /auction in EC (East Commons -- reputed to be the best place to buy items on Ayonae Ro. At least, if the traffic noise is anything to go by).
Any particular reason? Is it perhaps, because I am capable of structuring my sentances in a coherent manner? Or, would you prefer me to SHOUT IN CAPS? Whatever floats your boat.
(2) "oh and batskull earrings are +5 int, not +7."
Thank you for the information. As should be obvious in my posts, I am relatively new(bie) to Everquest so do need occasional guidance by those who are prepared to put time and effort into forums such as these.
(3) "and what makes you think at 11 you can kill her? you will die a horrible death as the 13-15 necro fears you, dots you, and her pet attacks you. "
If I was to be facetious, I would say my friend IRL and his level 47 Iksar Monk :P However, -since- I already possess a GBS and unless I have got my facts horribly wrong (see above), it is a LORE item and thus, I am unable to possess another.
<nods> I have no intention of camping her [Pzjin] and you are right in as much I would probably die. Tovax however, is rather easy for a level 12 Enchanter -- the +10 magic resistance on the GBS does come in handy for resisting spells :P
The wisest man i ever met said the following, "Intelligence is saying what you mean so that everyone can understand and feel your emotion." People who speak over others heads usually talk to hear themselves speak (and they are listening to a fool).

And about the guy that first started this topic, No, you dont have to talk like that on the forum because i for one know that you just like to listen to yourself and think that you are all high and mighty and above all the rest, talking to the lowly scum that travel these boards. Save it for your friends, if you have any.
I obtained the GBS from a GM Event (Faerie Windite Clan Event) outside Felwithe, when I was around lvls 4/5. I had *no* idea at the time what a GM event was exactly, nor that I would be *rewarded* for roleplaying. Personally, the whole experience was rewarding, not necessarily receiving the GBS.
Of course, tell that to someone who has invested hours and days IRL, camping Pyzjn :P
In response to the original post regarding the Stein of Moggok (GBS lessons) -- the Stein has better + INT and is vastly cheaper and easier to obtain. However, the Stein also sits in a common inventory slot.
A nameless high-lvl player attempted to cajoule me to part with the GBS in return for a Stein of Moggok and a + <STAT> earring, as well as 500pp. He took umbrage at my refusal to enter into this trade and remarked that I was "retarded" because the items that he was offering provided more + INT than just the GBS.
The reason behind my refusal to trade was that it was an unequal trade:
Firstly, the Stein of Moggok is an item that is relatively easy to obtain (around lvl 12+) and sits in a different inventory slot.
Secondly, the earring offered could again, be obtained from a Master Jeweler for pp. Again, easily obtained.
Thirdly, I have been informed that the GBS can sell on various servers for at *least* 2kpp.
The lesson to be learnt is twofold: Firstly, *THINK* about what is being offered in a trade: the stats of the item traded, how easy is the item to obtain, and how frequently does the item load. Secondly, whilst the items offered would have improved my character statistically and the pp would have been very useful, I weighed the decision on the ease and cost of obtaining the items offered in the trade against the ease and cost of obtaining the GBS.
The biggest factor which weighted my decision was down to inventory slot i.e. the GBS is held in the secondary slot and I do not think that there are many easily obtainable +INT +magic resistant items for that slot.
"you got a gbs already, and you are planning to camp pyzjn for a second? ::faints:: what the hell is wrong with you?"
<lol> Probably to annoy and frustrate you even more :P People can be incredibly perverse, getting their kicks in sordid ways.
Strangely, I am currently in the Qeynos area, although not to camp Pyjin -- which should be immediately obvious as a level 12 Enchanter.
"i stuck with golden ear studs till then. what makes you too good for that ;P"
Heh, I -knew- there was a reason to be in Qeynos i.e. to camp Cubert and obtain those studs. However, I am ever so slightly 'chicken' to go into the aqueducts until I have maxed out my swimming skill.
Re: GBS Price Check As exlained, me=newbie. The stats on the Stein are better (minus the magical resistance) and from the information on Allakhazam's, both items sit in primary/secondary slots.
Although, only Enchanters can reasonably perform the Stein of Moggok quest, the Stein sells for around 200pp, whilst the GBS sells for 10kpp ish?
Both items are ALL/ALL -- so, are people effectively paying 9.8kpp for +10 magic resistance? Are magic resistant items incredibly rare?
Would like to search out the opinions of those who are much more knowledgable than me (not too hard, is it:P).
This is mainly a status item. Most of the high levels use to show off with. When you hit the 50's you have your various sets of equipment, your "standard adventuring gear", your "Dueling gear", and of course your "Look Cool Gear". This item usually goes in the 3rd but is kinda cool to have by itself. I went with the Gnoll hide tome myself, but I hope to have status like this someday.
I camped Pyzjn for 8 hours today...Saw her once, she spawned on the hill behind the ruins (the zone wall), and I hit her for a DD worth 160. She dropped like a rock...No GBS..Rare drop on a random spawn.

6 hours... you expected to get this in 6 hours? i laugh at your impatience and lack of dedication to this MOTHER F*CKER OF All CAMPS and your demanding that you be rewarded for putting almost NO effort into getting this super uber item.
and for the second part of your post... i seriously doubt a n00b like yourself could aford a gbs.
Actually, the mother f*cker of all camps has to be the Raster of Guk, ask any monk who has his Lost Circle robe. Some monks have 120hr+ camps. The spawn point itself is like 72min alone, and there is a measly 5% chance you get Raster anyway...average camp is 40hrs. So yes, Raster owns Pyzjn in terms when he decides to take a peak outside the Spawn Generator. I myself have 13hrs on this necro already, and its very boring. /dance say break dances with %T
I was passing on through the ruins, a nice little short cut, from Surefall Glade on my way to Everfrost ealier tonight.
I decided to blast those annoying skeles AND raise my evocation skill when I saw this little Gnome standing in the ruins, with of course her pet. She conned green and ready to attack so I blasted the other Skeles in the ruins with my Ward Undead and Ghoulbane, then I blasted her pet.
Went down in two DD's. Then I got stuck into the little wrench, after a couple double attacks, she was running,I rooted and sliced her to death. Looted her and got the GBS, looked at the stats and thought "Not Bad" did a PC (this was when it was late and no one was on) and no one knew in my guild. Went to Everfrost and killed some mammy's with a couple friends.
Went back to ruins to see if she was there, met a Warrior had a chat with him found out what it was worth and how rare it was.
Ended up asking a lvl 53 Mage how much it was just to make sure, told me 5-10k but depended on the person selling/buying. Offered me a DW Helm. I refused and told him I'd check the price out in GFay. Went to GFay, no one knew (bout 40 people in zone) Logged of and am now typing.
Guess I was lucky, but I'm never lucky....
I resisted all her spells by the way, it happens when your lvl 27
Good luck camping her, I was told bad stories from the warrior

Hello i am on the nameless server and i have been camping pyzjin for 1 whole day now and no pyzjin,no stone,no nothing exept thoughs stupid skellys. I want have heard you have to Hail a guy named Sir Edwin Motte in QH,is this true? if so where is Sir Edwin Motte located? Plz respond to this it will help me out a WHOLE LOT. Oh and by the way i am a 36 bard so i dont have to warry about not finding her in a diff spot cuz at 35 bards get track. = ) Got to go c-ya.
Ummm... OMG, you have camped her a whole day and haven't seen her! Wow... Someone in my guild got the GBS... only took her 11 RL days to see her 3 times, got the stone on the third... I don't think there is any special trigger.
blah, i've had 4 drops, 2 pop'n'drops as i callem, where they're 12 minute camps, kill the PH, she spawns, and drops, and 2 camps that hvae taken me over 40 hours each(current camp running on 70 hours) laiasa
I would think for an item this hard to come by, and one that demands the price it does, would carry with it alittle better stats than 9 int, 10 sv magic. It can't be put in the ammo slot, or range slot. Maybe that could be something that could change to make this little stone worth it's rarity.
