toys are fun. The odd few weapons that ppl can wild but not use are fun to play with, if nothing else. As a cleric, I've had fun carrying this and dressing in full leather, then trying to get ppl to guess what class I am when anon=P
Yes, this is kinda fun, was killing a bunch of Grachnist's in the goblin fort just to see if I could get the earring, and picked up a few of these things. At 52 (I know, little high for the camp but noone else was there and gloves were going to any lower lvls in zone) I could solo Grachnist dual wielding these (and using flying kick of course) =). Was hitting for 1-18 with them, slows the fight down a little, but still didn't get me below 70h even with a few adds. Makes it a little more fun truely whipping the whole camp. Heh...

Who cares if a monk could use it ... theres all all 1hs all all piercing wpns out there that arel ike 6/23 with a 200 admage proc if a monk wantedd to use it they would use go over there and kill the guy to get it ... its no big deal ... if verant doesnt want monks to have 1 hs skill they dont have to but they can atleast have the ability to **** 1hs weapon in there slota nd say they are cheating or use it for looks or something :)
i mean why in the hell would they make a 1HS weapon for a monk? sure nice stats now with dmg bonus but c'mon monks dont even have the skill it requires so when we use something like this it is like a noobie warrior using a short sord. Except the warrior's skill will at least go up this is kind of stupid if i do say so myself :p
one word - "Template" - they have specific templates that weapons fall under. Instead of making this weapon the WAR PAL SHD BRD type, they opted for this... I guess to include Rogues? ... but it made it able to be used by others.

Who cares this item sucks there is no point in using it!
Yes, it's true, no skill can be gained, and you can't hit worth a dang, but, you can have one heck of a fun time Roleplaying with this, or using it mearly as a diversion for fun ( full gnomeskin and one of these whips on certain races makes ya think)
Who cares if I am SUPPOSED to use it. As a cleric id love to use a whip, or foll around with raned weapons. :) It would be fun. An EFFECT would be nice though, making it more WORTH a non-normal char using a non-normal weapon..... effect.... would be nice.

Monks can use it, mine has one. No, 1HS skill doesn't go up for MNK's. Have used it for 5 lvl's and skill hasn't gone up at all.

Clerics can use also, so who cares if a monk can use or not. I guess it's only important if a monk can or can't use an item.

Yes monks can use this. No there is no point, because monks do NOT have 1HS skill, so it is capped at 1 point. Hmmmn, 1HB at 252 or 1HS at 1, which are you going to pick. I think its just in here for the novelty too.

ok... all becuase it says u dont have the skill doesnt meant u cant use it... theres an ALL/ALL piercer i believe so /shrug its just the way it is :0 i feel like getting two of these for my monk, dress up in some gnome skin and say... huh? im not a monk... im a ranger...

This whip CAN be used by Monks. I've seen the whip and a Monk with it equiped. But I don't know if you'll gain any skill in 1 Handed Slashing :P
I think its funny that there are about 50 posts saying you won't skill up, and this one post saying you will and flaming someone for not knowing anything...

I am a shaman and also don't have 1H slash as a "skill" , but I did have one of these and it was amusing for a bit to be able to use a whip *shrug* . I suspect they toss things like this in now and then to prevent boredom . The stats being what they are , the novelty wore off pretty fast ;) Same thing happens when enchanters and necros get a Forest Giant hammer , they get to have a good time playing with a weapon they can't normally wield . Yay for a bit of added fun ;)

Huh? The casting classes can all use 1hb, so the forest giant hammer is a decent weapon for a necro that semi-tanks with his pet.

i like the fact that it says a monk can use it and yet us monks dont have the skill to use it...anyone see something wrong with this? is it just me? have the monks been able to use 1H slashing and noone told me?

Did anyone else notice that this can be used by a monk....a 1 hand slashing weapon.
