I did not get Humming Luclinite Mallet, I did the turn in, got the text that say's I did but no Humming Luclinite Mallet and now don't have the Luclinite Mallet either. Has this happened to anyone else?
my 2cp worth I dont know if anyone else is having problems with this but after i recieved the humming luclinite mallet. i tried to make more humming orbs and the forge requires the luclinite mallet not the humming luclinite mallet it will not allow me to forge the orbs. i dont know if it is just nerfed or not but how do i make the armor if i cant make the component with the final hammer? do i have to do the quest again to get the lower level hammer?
After you receive the Luclinite Mallet, ask "How do you make humming orbs?" Give the Luclinite Mallet and three orbs to Barkhem and he will return the Humming Luclinite Mallet.
(First, sorry this is so long, there is a lot to it and I wanted to be as detailed as possible, if you find any errors please let me know, I will edit).
This is the quest for the 'Humming Luclinite Mallet' and 'Vah Shir Anvil' used in Shadowscream armor.
1. Go to Shar Vahl 2. Find and Hail Master Barkhem @ 190, neg 175 3. Say "I am looking for work" 4. Ask "What Bloodlings?" 5. Buy 1 or 2 Carapace Shield Frames (this is an 8 slot container costing 2gp, 9sp, 7cp 6. Gather 16 'A Bloodling Carapace' and combine 8 in each shield frame to make 2 Bloodling Shields. These are found in Shadeweaver's Thicket and are uncommon from a Cht`Thk Bloodlings (think these are level 3 or so) and the bloodlings unspawn from time to time to spawn worms which are a place holder. At 59 with my pet killing them in 1 hit and with sow on my pet to move faster it took about 2 hours to get 16 of them. 7. Go back to Master Barkhem and give him one shield at a time the shield and he will return you some exps and A Bloodling Carapace Plate. 8. Buy a Mail Sectional Mold from Apprentice Garr @ 225, neg 160 for 1pp, 7gp, 7sp, 6cp. 9. Buy 1 Nepeta Oil Extract from Chialle @ neg 500, pos 115 for 1gp, 6sp, 2cp. (Now I have seen her walking around, I think the vendor next to her has some also. 10. Go to the forage (inside the smith shop around the corner) and combine the following 4 items. 10a) A Bloodling Carapace Plate 10b) A Bloodling Carapace Plate 10c) A Mail Sectional Mold 10d) Nepeta Oil Extract (I have 188 skill and this is trivial) The result of the combine is: Bloodling Plate Mail. 11. Give Master Barkhem the Bloodling Plate Mail and he will give it back to you with a 'Vah Shir Apprentice Mallet' - Now if you can get the Mail from someone then you can save all the steps before 11. 12. Ask Master Barkhem "What report order?" (you will receive 'a shield repair order') 13. Bring that report to Khala Dun Jasir @ 1140, neg 275 (you will receive his dented shield). 14. Take his dented shield to a forge and combine that and the apprentice mallet which repairs it. (You will receive the mallet back and his Immaculate shield). 15. Talk with Master Barkhem and ask "What report order?" again to receive another 'a shield repair order'. 16. Return the repaired back to that guard and receive a work order. 17. Bring the report to Khala Dun Aihjin @ 1140, neg 150 (you will receive his dented shield). 18. Repeat steps 14, 15, and 16. 19. Bring the report to Khala Dun Bokh @ neg 1120, 135 (you will receive his dented shield). 20. Repeat steps 14, 15, and 16. 21. Bring the report to Khala Dun Koby @ neg 1120, 55 (you will receive his dented shield). 22. Repeat steps 14 and 16 (not 15 this time, last one). 23. Return to Master Barkhem and give him all 4 work orders that you got from the guards (Receive exps, faction for Guardians of Shar Vahl and 'Vah Shir Anvil' - the Anvil is Giant so make sure you have a spot to put it). 24. Ask Master Barkhem "What is a spirit anchor?". 25. Ask Master Barkhem "How is he binding the spirits?". 26. Ask Master Barkhem "How do you rend shadows?". 27. Ask Master Barkhem "How do you make shadow disks?". (You will receive an 8 slot container and will learn you need 1 swirling shadows and 1 metal bits (2 small piece of ore and 1 water flask) to make 1 shadow disk. 28. Collect the parts to make the 8 shadow disks and combine all 8 in the container. 29. Return the container and the apprentice mallet to Master Barkhem and receive faction with Guardians of Shar Vahl, exps and the 'Luclinite Mallet'. 30. Ask Master Barkhem 'How do I make humming orbs?' (1 shrieking substance, 1 wailing substance, 1 metal rings, 1 Luclinite Mallet and 1 Var Shir Anvil) 31. Make 3 Humming Orbs, Give Master Barkhem them and the Luclinite Mallet and you will be rewarded with more exps, faction and a Humming Luclinite Mallet. Happy Smithing.
The section of the quest where you repair the shields... There is a time limit. As to what exactly it is, I'm not sure. I gave some of the guards the order, got their shield, then guild called a raid. Didn't come back to it until the next day. I went and repaired the shields, went to give them back, and they wouldn't accept them. To remedy this, just go get another order from Barkhem, give it to the guard, and it will remove their shield. Then give them the repaired shield, and destroy the damaged one.
Also, when doing the Shadow Disks, you need to also use the mallet and anvil in the combine. Didn't say it in the break down, but the combine is metal bits, swirling shadows, apprentice mallet and vah shir anvil in a forge.
I'm to the last part, trying to make humming orbs. I put the stuff in a forge, but all I get is, "You cannot combine these items in this container type!" This is very frustrating.
Great post man....I had an awful time trying to find the proper quest on alla and eqtraders, because I didn't know the "official" quest name. Thanks for the VERY detailed post, and for keeping me from falling over the brink of insanity which I was perched upon, from not being able to find this darned quest! :O)
Can I brag a little now: J.C. 250 w/trophy, Fletching 238 w/trophy, Smithing 207, Brewing 200, Pottery 200, Baking 194(anyone have some storm salmon...or pixie dust and cinnamon sticks so I can forget about this stuff for awhile??? :O), and frustrating and uninteresting (to me) Tailoring 115 (and will be until I HAVE to do it for Aid Grimel Quest :O)
