Maxed Charm

FWIW:

A lvl 59 Shaman, weapons skills currently show a cap of 228.
My charm became maxed (stats shown at top of page) with 2H Blunt @ 212, Piercing @ 202 and 1HBlunt @ 200.

It became maxed as soon as the 3rd weapon skill went from 199 to 200.

So, skills don't need to be 100% maxed.

Finally, a replacement for Kobold Skull Charm!

With the intricate wooden figurine being available to ANYONE lvl 51+, once you get two flags I would say just grab that ;p

Clerics now have bash, which is a melee skill also. Maybe you have to max that as well.
RE: Charm
# May 10 2003 at 7:46 AM Rating: Decent
I know it says weapon skills, but if the previous poster has maxed those, might want to check and see if bash changes anything.

As a druid would I have to max all 4 skills? 1HS, 1HB, 2HB AND h2h? I am only looking to get the focus effect, dont really care about the other stats.

Thanks
RE: Druids
# Jun 23 2003 at 4:13 PM Rating: Default
maybe you gotta max only 1hs, your epic is 1hs so I was thinking that would be the weapon skill of your class
RE: Druids
# May 09 2003 at 4:55 AM Rating: Decent
I would say not. Clerics only have to work on Hand to Hand because they only have 1hb and 2hb otherwise. Druids have 1hb, 2hb, 1hs, shamans have 1hb, 2hb, piercing - so all three classes get 3 skills to max.

Of course, each class has different skill caps, so I don't know how those apply.

Master does not mean 100 level
# Apr 29 2003 at 11:19 AM Rating: Decent
The term "Master" does not mean achieve level 100.

I personally got this charm (as a druid) with the following stats and only acheived Mana +5, Wis +1, resists +2, AC +1, DEX +1. No ext range effect.

1HB - 175
1HS - 127
2HB - 128

Apparently, master refers to maxing out your level for your weapons skills.

cleric h2h
# Apr 25 2003 at 8:10 PM Rating: Default
Let me repeat this again, clerics will not get full effect of this charm.

I have h2h skill of 75,which is cleric max,and charm is not maxed, let me repeat CHARM IS NOT MAXED OUT.

After each patch,i try to train with guild trainer, but does not go past 75,and after each attempt at training it to master, which charm says too,i /feedback and /bug this charm, yet 7 patches now have passed with charm still broken.

It would help alot,if instead of coming up with information you know jack about, you would feedback it and bug it so that it gets fixed, wether by allowing h2h to raise to 100,or by dropping requirement down to 75,for clerics.

You won't get the full stats of the charm until you have the following skills:

Cleric
175 1HB (one hand blunt)
175 2HB (two hand blunt)
75 H2H (hand to hand)

Druid
175 1HS (one hand slash)
175 1HB (one hand blunt)
175 2HB (two hand blunt)

Shaman
200 1HB (one hand blunt)
200 2HB (two hand blunt)
200 piercing
RE: cleric h2h
# Apr 30 2003 at 4:02 PM Rating: Excellent
I'm pretty certain the reason that the charm is bugged for clerics is because they only have 3 weapon/melee skills to max out (1hb, 2hb, h2h) while both druids and shaman have 4 (1hb, 2hb, h2h, piercing-shaman, 1hs-druid). Perhaps you clerics /bugging and /petitioning for this charm to be fixed should use that as one of your arguments... if anything screams "bugged" this charm does.

Blah, went down and read some posts, and seen a reply to my old post.

That is a possibility they want you to max out your melee skills to get the full effect of this charm, but,to say "master" means to max out your skills is wrong.

"master" is exactly what it says, skill 100 is "master" in game.So until a cleric comes in here saying "i maxed all my melee skills, and it now has full effect" i won't believe it.Until that happens,i will be practicing my skills i guess,to maximum, and if it turns out to be true,i will post here.

K i finally got it, here all i had been thru.
Mobs is easy to find, u can get to it invs following Ganja directions, no see invs otw.

Camp:

Mob is the middle in the room, only the middle 1 can spawn seer.
U can pull the middle mob csting on him from the tunnel that leads to the room, the other 2 will NOT add, they are blind old trolls.
The phs can be Sks or warriors. They easy, damage output very weak. I kept killing them with a 59drood with kei and virtue, doing root/dot.
the Broken Skull seer is a RARE spawn, i would hunt 7-8hours a day would get 1-2 pops a day.
Respawn timer is 30min.
There is a roamer that goes to the entrace of the room, but he takes 35min roaming outside the tunnel that leads to the seer room, so u dont need to worry about him, thou u can see if he is comming cause he stops in the entrace to the tunnel to the east before going in the tunnel that leads to seer.

Seer:
He got some kind of lvl range cause he was more or less magical resistant.
Killed him allways with a 65clr and the 59drood. Cleric would root and heal only and drood would cast Nature wrath, winged death and breath of ro.
When he was not much magical resistant, the cleric would land 4-5 roots a figth and he was dead. When he was a bit higher the root dont last 20secs so would have to chain root and celestial heal drood.
His damage output is very weak! He is a shamman. Would hit drood for 193 most and cleric for 123 most, so any kind of healer/tank would work perfect for him. He DOESNT summon.

The worst part...
The drop is even rarer than the seer to spawn.
Took me 6days hunting 7hours or more to get the charm. Normally he drops a glove and his rare drop is a ring. The ultra rare is the charm =(.
Got 7gloves and 1 ring before the charm dropped.

Be rdy to get some very boring time camping it.
Hope i helped.
which spot

My partner and myself camped seer less than 15 hours total I am sure. He spawned in the middle behind the fire for us and dropped the charm on the first try.

I camped this charm maybe 40 hours before it dropped.

The mob's name is "the Broken Skull Seer". Loc is (1570, -1055) in Torgiran Mines. He is the center spawn in a 3-spawn room, and has a placeholder. PH respawn time is 24:30. He is a rare spawn, maybe 1 in 10. Casts shaman spells.

He always drops one item, but the Ivory Fang Figurine is rare. Common drop is Bands of Dark Prayers (BST/DRU/MNK gloves). Another rare drop of his is Finger Bone Ring (All/All).
Which spot?
# Apr 17 2003 at 2:25 AM Rating: Decent
Could anybody let me know which spot this guy spawns in? Or does he spawn in any of the 3 spots? I was kinda figuring the one behind the fire but wasn't for sure.
RE: Which spot?
# Apr 20 2003 at 1:32 AM Rating: Decent
He does indeed spawn right behind the firepot as you enter the room. I haven't seen or heard of him spawning in either of the other two spots.

After five pairs of gloves and one ring, I still haven't gotten that blasted charm. Patience seems to be a virtue in this camp. heheh

Where the charm description says to "master" your weapon skills, it means get them as high as possible. It doesn't mean get them to skill 101.

# Apr 06 2003 at 2:30 PM Rating: Decent
I got this charm today after following the directions posted by Ganja below. Nothing sees through invis. I was able to take the camp solo (62 shaman) without too much trouble. The agro range was very small. The Seer dropped the charm the first time it spawned.

As a shaman to get the full effect of the charm I used training points and had to max 1HB, 2HB and piercing. After logging out and in again I had the full effects :)

babylou....if you were the "master shammy" you claim to be, you wouldn't brag about how hard is it for tanks to regain agro when you melee. That's nothing to be proud of, being a healer myself, I'd be ashamed. :)

# Apr 02 2003 at 11:46 AM Rating: Default
Thats fine melee all you like. So long as you are keeping up your role as a shaman Im sure nobody minds.

But dont forget for all your vaulted melee ability, nothing you can do will equal the increased damage output you can add by fulling buffing your group.

Melee is your secondary role. And any shaman who forgets that is playing the wrong class.

was just wondering on the repop time in this zone...im assuming the usual 30ish minutes, settling in for a nice boring time consuming camp of oblivion) but i have gate necklace ready for when i pass out and my wife has gate) as for the discussion, i ahve seen 4 charms, 1 for wis one for plate melee, 1 for non plate melee and 1 for int....(well im assuming one for int casters) seems they are the best shown charms in game atm, so don't be so harsh on them.

charms seem 100% time sinks for those willing to do it, and 100% against "dewd! im so uber my 45 person raid i own will go kill this uber mob so i can get more phat lewt!"

i strongly approve)

Darnit this charm has beastlord written all over it! All my weapon skills are maxed already. Why give a charm with decent stats that requires weapon proficiency to a bunch of casters who never hardly swing a hammer?

RE: grrrr!
# Mar 31 2003 at 12:50 PM Rating: Default
Umm, I believe they made this charm based upon weapon skills so the average wis caster who gets this will have to make a concerted effort to max out those skills to get the full effect. Most wis casters, even if they do tank on occasion, will not have all 3 categories of weapons maxed. Find a necro and ask to wail on his fear kited mobs with a low delay weapon. Easier for a shammy with haste and dex buffs.
RE: grrrr!
# Mar 22 2003 at 5:51 AM Rating: Decent
a bunch of casters who never hardly swing a hammer? Guess you never saw a battle cleric before.

And we shammy poke the mob until they flip.

Drood is probably the only class of all three don't do much melee. They're too busy kiting. :)

I love to go to OOT because they turn at 18% (and they have about 5K hp so thats about 800HP of clubaction)then its just wack, wack, wack untill they die i did the samething in Rathe its great sometimes we all get bored with hiting from a far.

The clerics and shamans might be meleeing... but given that they have no double attack or dual wield and have lower caps on weapon skills and a gimp ATK rating, they should probably just sit their asses down most of the time and med up for the next round of casting.

Of course, as long as they aren't going OOM or causing downtime or getting bad aggro they are welcome to pretend they are really doing meaningful damage trying to melee, whatever turns their crank I guess.

RE: grrrr!
# Mar 24 2003 at 5:53 AM Rating: Decent
I do well over 100 a pop, along with the 4k in dots and debuffs I throw before I wade in. And, yes, ALL of my weapon skills have been maxxed for quite some time now. Any caster that dont get off their butt to whack is useless.

TalibMT,
I am a 65 Shaman, I can effectively, Debuff, Heal and melee all at the same time and come out of a fight with between 80-100% of my mana. I can also deal a large amount of damage through Melee for a priest class. My Max melee damage is 85, I average around 40-50 each hit, I miss once about every5 hits. I can also add 65dmg proc to my melee, which procs frequently with my high Dexterity. Clerics get a spell to summon a Hammer which procs frequently for around 150 or so I believe. I can also tank better than a large percentage of the Beastlords on my server and even some of the melee classes I have seen. You obviously know very little about other classes, and it wouldn't surprise me if you knew even less about your own. Then again, you could just be starting trouble out of boredom, I do that fairly often myself ...
