on tribunal now these like 6k max i can solo this sucker but it a nasty camp some times you get 3 back to back other times like 30 ph's :( anyway look grantunel up on tribunal if ya want 1
I went to try this camp to try to get the Soulstripper for a friend. Here is what I learned.
First of all, the Soulstealer pops where everyone says (P1434 N364) in the Dulak caves through the hidden entrance. Enter the caves through the hidden entrance with INVIS and run straight until you get to the bridge. Halfway across the bridge, take the right fork and head for the stairs. Park yourself between the stairs and his PH (a servant of hate). You are safe there.
You only have to worry about two things. The PH and a wandering mob, usually an (emissary of hate). Kill the wandering one first, then kill the PH. Give yourself a few minutes between kills, so you can deal with one at a time. IF you kill the wandering mob 5 or 6 times, usually the NPC-CHESTER STEELBLADE-spawns in place of the wandering mob, then you only have to deal with the PH from here on out. Dont kill CHESTER...he is a turn-in Pally quest NPC, drops nothing...cons (INDIFF) and wont bother you. He will keep you company wandering around while you wait for (18 minutes) to go by between PH spawns. HeeHee>>Chester the Molester.....
On my first POP of the Soulstealer, contrary to popular demand, he does NOT always have the Soulstripper on him! When I killed him, he had the 'Cape of the Hatebringer' on him and no Mace. The cape is actually a nice item:
Cape of Hatebringer: Magic-Lore Backslot. Wiz-Mage / All. Required Level:45 AC6, Dex5, Sta5, Int6, HP&Mana35, SvPoison8. Effect: Elemental Armor>>covers skin in elemental armor protecting you from Fire and Cold.
Anyways, I waited for some more to see if he would spawn again and he didnt so I left. I came back a couple times over the next two days and camped him for a couple of hours with no success, so I logged out there.
Low and behold, when I logged back in one morning, there he was. No one was around. I killed the wandering mob first, then I killed the Soulstealer and got the 'Soulstripper'. WOOT! While chatting with some other people in the guild, the Soulstealer POPPED again! I killed him again and he had another 'Soulstipper'. I ooc'd Dulak folks and gave it away to the first to arrive. He was very appreciative to say the least. Your welcome Cinap!
Well, that was just shear luck folks. If you do this camp, be prepared for a long one. I think he spawns in spurts, but if he doesnt....prepare for a long morning, afternoon or evening. Overall..its worth it and fun if you kill the static mobs just standing around.
Im posting this message for Chancce. If your a Dr00d, have all your resists up...especially MAGIC before you attack the Soulstealer. He will dot you and try to root you. Return the favor!!!
Root, ensnare, dot..keep Root going and then Blast away with dd spells. Soulstealer is DEAD and you get to LOOT UP!
My Magic resist was at 151..and he landed one spell..everything else was resisted. HAVE FUN and GL to all.
Ok, in regards to Chester walking around and the wandering mob...I'm a little confused. Perhaps this has changed since the original post or maybe it's different on other servers.
When I've done this camp, Chester doesn't move at all. He stands to the left of the stairs. The wandering mob (and there has been 2 on some nights, only 1 on others) does not stop when Chester is up (gods I wish it did, tho).
Anyway, I was just curious about this and thought I'd post.
I saw a post somewhere that said sometimes there are two wandering KoS mobs. Maybe this is what you encountered? I camped soulstripper all this morning and early afternoon for my baby shaman. Chester was wandering when I got there, and I never had any other roamers come through.
On a side note the aggro range on the named is a lot bigger than on the regular ones. I had my shammy sitting there in the tunnel beside my mage and he was safe out of aggro range from everything. The second the named spawn he ran over and violated my poor shaman in terrible ways =/. Poor little guy.
I got the named after 3 PHs and he dropped the soulstripper. Respawn time was 18 minutes, as said before. I gave it to my shammy and then stuck around a while for more.
well i got this from a friend and well i hit and it is a great weapon. I use it at 38 and i would love it to proc can't wait till it does. This would easly be a great weapon.
LLamka 38 cleric llaman 31 mage llam... many names on bertox starting with these letters.... all part of Mystical empire..
My cleric's dex is about 101 also, I have this weapon, almost allways will proc 1-3 times in a normal fight time against a dark blue. It is unusual for it not to proc during a fight, had as many as 5 or 6 procs in a fight. Get it, the 75 damage to the mob is nice, 78 healed to you great, but the damage this weapon does, and with its Wisdom and stats you can probably just leave it in at all times.
I bought this item in the bazaar for 5000pp. Didnt want to pay that much, but what can I say I like tanking. Self buffed this weapon procs about 3 times a fight. When I get a higher lvl shaman to cast HoS on me or FoS, I'm looking at about 5 procs a fight. I like this weapon myself, hitting for high of 60pt of damage. Thats pretty nice for me coming from the Dark Ember.
I've had this mace since level 24, when some Troll shaman in the bazaar simply walked up and handed it to me when I was trying to buy a Centi Warhammer.
I never did catch the name of that shaman. Such is a pity, I'd love to thank him.
The mace's recommended level made it a so-so weapon for me until level 35, when the damage became comparable to my spear.
At level 40, everything changed. The weapon's proc allows a shaman to buff up and melee almost anything. Pet damage, haste-slow setup, Soulstripper's respectable base damage, and 2-3 procs per combat (at buffed dex of 181) let me end a melee quickly, canni in battle, and end a fight with more HP and mana than I had when I started.
This weapon seems to be specifically designed for shamans like me, who solo a vast majority of the time and require a weapon that lets us hit hard, self-heal, and end a fight quickly before wandering mobs add on.
Running buffed, a shammy with this weapon can tank very well. Stack stoicism on that and he can give a regular tank class a run for its money.
Yes, it's a decent weapon. However, I wonder what you're smoking with your comment that a shaman with this weapon can give a tank class a run for their money tanking a mob, especially only with "stoicism." If you're a "Prophet," you would put Quiessence on you, not Stoicism, which snares you and reduces your ATK rating.
I have a well equipped 65 Ogre SK, and a 65 shaman with about 90 aa's, close to 1200 ac, and about 4k hp self-buffed that I two-box with. Shamans don't have the AC, HP, or offensive/defensive skill levels to tank tougher mobs.
It's not the shaman's role to "tank" mobs. You're a slower/debuffer, buffer, healer, DoTter and you are WANTED for these abilities. You want the AC/HP's to take the couple of rounds of hits you might take following a slow, until the tank can taunt it off you. Oh, we don't have taunt, either.
Yeah, with this weapon, you can get in there and melee a little if you're at full mana in-between mobs, or help out your doggie when you're soloing. But to put you out in front as the MA, say in PoV on a Crystalline Golem, or yard trash giants in BoT in a group...not going to happen, and you're not going to do much damage to the mob only weilding ONE 1hb weapon. No cleric is going to want to spend the mana healing you if there's a plate class available to tank a mob...even a poorly equipped one, as long as their offensive, weapon, and defensive skills are maxed.
I put this weapon on my 49 cleric, instead of keeping it on my shammy. I'd rather use the Witchdoctor's Cudgel from Nadox to melee with than this weapon (18/22), or the Delightful Orb of Forgotten Magic.
A well-geared Pally, SK, or Bard will kick our butts, even with this weapon. If you can't root them and dot the hell out of them, you're going to get sliced to death (in PvP). Warriors are easier, because they don't cast spells. Any of these classes when decently equipped can sure as hell out-tank us on mobs. It's not even a contest.
It's a good weapon, and worth the camp or even buying. But, don't exaggerate your ability because you have this. The higher you go, the less you melee, unless you PvP/Duel.
I bought one on the Brell the other night for 6600pp and promptly took it to CoM to work on my epic. I had my dex up to 179 with Deftness and Fury and was able to get 2 plus procs per fight.
I was pulling the mob's with Togor's and had Alacrity on me so they wound up being very one- sided fights.
IMO just the damage output alone justifies buying this weapon. Add in the stat bonuses/proc and this mace is "very sweet" indeed. If you're in interesting in becoming a "tanking" shaman then this is definitely the weapon for you!!!
it has a recommended lvl of 41 i think, i know its in the 40's, not past 45, but looked it up for my lvl 30 cleric, oh well, i still want one =), but just fyi, recommended lvl of 41 =)
Ok so servant of hate is the PH, spawns about every 18mins, just clear the cave and u will be fine, spawn loc is p1434 n364.
48druid(me), 50 chanter, 55 cleric and 59 mage killed this sucka, easy as pie, he never landed any spells we took him out soo fast! and the bridge, FYI u cant fall off!
I am a level 52 Shaman lucky enough to have this weapon and the Infusion of Spirit spell (Beastlord PoP Quest). As such, I have 255 STR and 255 DEX all the time. This weapon procs constantly - I estimate one in 4 hits. Deals damage in the low 50's at a maximum - averages somewhere in the low 40's (likely this is MOB dependent). This is the best acquisition for my character I have had in a long time.
Aeternitas Praeclarvs Iksar Mystic of the 52nd season Povar
I don't know if others have the same experience with this, but when the Siphon Life procs on this, my Cleric deals out 75 dd and gets healed for 78. Perhaps this is due to the innate Cleric healing bonus? Curious to know if it acts the same for other classes.
One thing I've notice on procs is they act as if you cast them, therefore any focus effects/AA's you have that would modify the spell you proc will apply to the proc. I have experienced this using a improve damage focus on a summoned bracelet which caused the Rune Etched Icewurm Fang I was using to exceed the stated damage several times.
i am a lvl 58th shaman with a crap load of aa- with aa crit and aa heal crit this weapon rocks- instead of it doing 75dd it turns into 100 if i am lucky on that 100 crit i get the aa exceptional heal making it 200 heal or its a 152 heal if only 75dmg is done either way i mow down the mobs in nadox with this and pet, i slow bon and tank till its dead 8).
I actually got one of these for 1.5k. Guess the seller was liquidating.. Was on Tunare BTW we are sorta on the Great Depression, Everything is dirt cheap. Just ta let ya know
Can those of you lucky enough to own one of these tell us how often it procs? Once per fight? Twice? I'm looking for something to replace my Sarnak Devastator on Live creatures.
I got this weapon at level 38 and it now procs at level 40. Since this weapon has started procing for me, I have healed myself once. Big deal? Well, I'm nearly level 42 and, yes, only healed myself one time for nearly two levels. It will proc 2-3 times each fight. My Dex is 175 if all my self buffs are up. Yeah, I have fought an entire fight without it procing, but it's more likely to proc 5-6 times than not at all. I canni during fight because of this weapon all the time because I'm constantly at full health. BTW, I have no regen items either. I just keep chloroplast up all the time. This is a must have for shaman, IMO.
Just picked one of these up on bristlebane for 6400pp. there where two in the bazaar listed at 7800 and 8000. I offered the one listed at 7800 6400 and he took it (sometimes you get lucky and they are at their seller char). I have a 32 shaman. With this, an fbss and quickness I am doing major damage. Add a slow, a debuff and 1 dot and I am taking out yellows. Reds require 1 or 2 dd blasts. It is currently a 12/23 weapon to me because of the recommended lvl of 41, but I love it.
The price *is* dropping. Which is unfortunate for the Enraged Soulstealer campers but very fortunate to the CLR/DRU/SHM that have been wanting these. :-P I think they are down to 6 or 7k now on Prexus. :-\
The average that I've noticed on Prexus is about 7k. I got lucky last night when I finally decided to fork it over and found one for 5500p. I bought it for my 29 cleric and replaced his rocked studded smasher with it. I don't know what lvl it procs yet, but I'll find out soon. Very nice weapon indeed.
I saw this item in the bazaar on Karana server and had to have it. I asked the person if I could have ot for 9.5k and they said yes. I am a 42 cleric and I love this weapon, much better than my Centi-Warhammer was. The +8 wis is also nice.
This weapon is great, just got one for my 56 shaman the other day. I was tanking like i was a noob again, was so cool. I was easily soloing level 50-55 mobs in Nadox(the ones that dont summon or cast)Ikky bp, regrowth, full shammy buffs, then pull with slow stack bane of nife and envenomed bolt on em then tank away, they were dead within a minute and i was full life. I really think this weapon could change the way shamans play past 50. Barradoom 56 shaman Aradin 54 ranger Martyyr 53 druid seventh hammer server
I went to get this last night based on other posters info with my 60 Shaman and it worked out great. Combining other posts & adding my experience
Zoned into Dulaks Invisible, headed left through the secret tunnel (boarded up area of a ship by Pile of stones. Follow the tunnel through until you reach a bridge with octopus tentacles along the side. The bridge splits mid-way, giving a choice of going straight or right. Take the right and a short ways ahead you will see a set of stairs.
There’s a clear spot putting you Halfway between Stairs and the PH. In sight of and Facing the Stairway, directly behind you the PH is the closest spawn (not wanderer). At this spot I Uninvised and summoned my DogDog, buffed, got on my Horse and shrank myself (Troll) and killed the wanderer who was on top of me at this time. the PH was just enough out of Range to not agro.
I proceded to kill the PH, and the 3 Mobs by the Stairway (1 on top left & right of it, and one at bottom of the stairs). I then took out the mobs by the Octopus Bridge in Case Mr Soulstealer decided to run.
After all 8 Mobs, I had to wait for the wanderer to re-pop (think around 20min respawn time for each) and rinse and repeat. Luckily The Enraged Soulstealer spawned on second cycle. He was duel Wielding a Dagger and the Mace.
I Slowed the Soulstealer and tried to give time for DogDog to gain agro. He has a Nasty Stun spell lasting a good 10-20 seconds. Casts a form of Boil Blood et. al also. I used my clicky Bracer and it hit full 263dmg, and once he was down to 2 bbls I Cast Bane of Nife on him, Clicky Snared him and that pretty much did it.
I pulled all mobs with Slow, not one Resist (including the 2 named) and just DogDog JBB'd em. I did buff my resists since this was my first time trying. Faced one annoying Luggald (malevolence flavor) that CH'd itself 2 times 8/ heh. This was very easy camp for a Shaman and I never had to heal myself.
Then Gated and played with my new toy whacking some Toilers around in Maidens Eye. Had over 200 Dex and it proc'd quite often. Love the weapon and it's looks.
Please tell me what item you're using that has clicky snare. I've looked all over and haven't been able to find any shaman usable snare items except for a few that have 1 charge.
Troll Shaman that worship Innoruuk can quest for the 'Regent Symbol Of Innoruuk' (I think that's the name). It has a clicky effect of engulfing darkness (well, one of the darkness snares anyway, don't remember which).
I just got my lil shammy twink frog to level 40 and this weapon procs now. Its pretty ammazing to slow a mob and enter melee and finish the fight with more life than I started with. You also get the full 15 damage 23 dly at lvl 40. Just to clear up when the mob spawns if you are facing down into the staircase where chester might spawn directly behind you the PH is the closest spawn (not wanderer). Hope this helps some.
OK I read the post on how to get to where chester spawns and I have camped my necro next to the stairs. Is this where he spawns or does he spawn in the room at the bottom of the stairs with the 6-8 mobs in it?
I got one of these today on Prexus thanks to a kind little Halfling Druid. He was going to sell for 12k on his mule but he was kind enough to knock off a few k, so I got for 10k. Whoo hoo! I love it! Even good for me at lvl 34. Have intentions of getting 41 very soon via PLing anyway hehe, so I will have the proc too. Yay!
Check out my Cleric and all her greatness... http://www.allakhazam.com/db/userinfo.html?char=322480 <-- Here
I saw one of these for 10k last night on Prexus. Gah I should have bought it. I wanna buy it now and no one selling! If you're on Prexus and have one I will pay WELL for it. Send a tell to Fribbette, Finaleena, or Loviee. Thanks in advance. Hope to hear from someone with one. Lol
Looted two of these yesturday. Two spawned with in a hour of each other. Shammy friend got the first and Ranger friend got second. They are selling anywhere from 45k to 30k on povar.
