Every single other class that can benefit from the +6 INT/WIS of this item is represented, except druids.
funny you should say that. i don't see paladin on this list, and since this item gives both good AC, Wis, and gives some hps (true not much but some). so why can't they use it?
Can someone confirm that by giving Lynuga rubies you lower your faction with Da Bashers in Grobb? Seems like a crappy thing to do to us trolls that rely on Grobb merchants but would also like the hoop.
If this IS true - what's the best way to raise your faction with Da Bashers to correct the negatives form giving her rubies?
There is one way I know of that raises faction with the bashers. When you first come into grobb before you cross the stream look in the cove on the right side. One of the bashers there is looking for fire beetle eyes (not sure how many he wants but think it is 4). This is the only quest besides the froglok tadpole flesh and froglok meat that you can turn into the warrior guild leader, but you need pretty decent faction to be able to do this one. Hope this helps some.
Forgot to mention, I believe she's on different faction than other trolls in the zone. She conned dubious to me while the Bashers near Grobb con Threatingly.
today I figured since I had the cash, I'd give this quest a try (on Zebuxoruk, price I saw was 4kpp for this earring). I bought a stack of ruby for 2635pp (with 185 charisma) and headed to the swamp. She wasn't on track at the time I arrived, so I kill a few of the humans and high elves wandering around (bad faction hits here). She spawned near the entrance to guk after around an hour, so I set my plan in action. being an enchanter, I reclaimed my pet, then charmed her and ran to the troll dealer in the middle of the zone. By bringing her there, you can sell the lore hammer and axe as soon as you get them and reclaim 75pp of the initial 130pp for the rubies. Eventually my charm broke off and she attacked me.
First piece of good info : She cons green at 49 and dual hits for 80 tops whith around 585 ac.
Anyways, I charmed her again and gave her the rest of the rubies. I went thru my whole stack and didn't get the earring, and I also noticed something else.
Second piece of info: Once in a while, you get NOTHING for handing in the rubies (around 1 out of 8 times for me).
At this point, I had gotten back 1400pp from selling the weapons, so I ran to Oggok to buy 10 more rubies.
Third piece of info: There's nowhere to buy rubies in Oggok =)
I got a friend to check on the web for the closest place to buy some, and it turns out it's in Grobb. That's not great if you're KOS, but I had no problems being an enchanter. This took me around 30 minutes, and when I came back, Lynuga was still there. This time, I figured ***** it, I gave her all the rubies and let the weapons drop on the ground. I finally got my earring on the 24th ruby I handed in.
Since I was done and there was no one else in the zone, I figured may as well kill, so I did.
Final piece of info: She has around 800-1200 hp and dropped 1 ruby and one quest ruby needed for the jeweled skull quest.
Overall, this quest may be annoying and seem like a huge gamble, but the way I see it, I started with 2635 pp and ended up with one earring worth 4kpp+ and around 500pp so it was well worth it.
Hope this has been some help because this wasn't the first time I tried the quest, and I know that without any info, it's a pain in the ***.
There was a patch a while back if a npc tries to give you a lore item, it will tell you "duplicate lore items not allowed". Same message if you try to loot a lore item.
Can prove this on the warrior guild leader in Ak'Anon. Say 'I am a new warrior' and he gives you a lore card. Say it again, says you already have one.
Actually, its only useable by races that can worhsip an evil god. I'm pretty sure Half Elf warriors can worship Innoruuk. As such, all Half Elves are able to wear it.

Edit: Doh, I see I posted the same thing down a ways.
Just at DL spires tonight ... and a perfect stranger gave my necromancer a used up one.
You all have permission to cry now, did not know the pain of getting it, or the value. Almost gave it away again :P. Kinda glad I didn't now ... think I have the cash to pay off the Halfling Mafia whom I owe 1800 PP to. Actually, what am I, nuts? Not gonna sell this toy!
(Thanks, Neckrodeemus!) /bounce

Posted:Jun 01 2001 at 7:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have one of these for sale on the Tallon Zek server....the price listed here is way low. I have sold 2 of them so far, this one being the third. Asking 6K for it. Send a tell if interested...and as always, trades are welcome.
What exactly does Spirit Tap do? I assume its a life tap, but how much?
And what the hell kinda messed up race restrictions are those. Half the medium races, and 2/3 of the large races? Seems random.
For a moment I thought it was for evil chars only (which would make sense, considering who you get the thing from), but to the best of my knowledge, Half Elves can't be anything evil.
My understanding is that only races that can worship evil gods can equip the earring... HalfElves can worship innoruuk (warriors)... or at least they used to be able to.
Bah I was wandering to Rathe Mountains to buy rubies for this quest, I happend to see Lynuga on track so I hurried myself, When I got back to her I handed in my first gem, presto I got a brute chopper, 2nd gem I got a mallet, 3rd I got the hoop... Main reason I got the loop was because I needed to change out my forest loop for one with more AC (sarnak earings too rare). I saw the earing on one of my fellow Rangers so I decide herm AC is nice on it...Turns out to be that Rangers can use the item, just not wood elves...*sighs* ok and off my rant, I turned in 5 more gems and got choppers and mallets
She has various named PH's for sure ( the humans and such ) .. but not all of the named ones are *HER* PH's ( but they are PH's for other NPC's ) .. small newbie stuff are NOT PH's for Lynuga.
She hangs out in the area between Guk, the Hand merchant and the Shadowed Men, wandering every so many minutes (hail her to keep her in one spot, and sell the crap weapons for 71 plat to the troll merchant and run back)
I know people will prolly claim something else is her PH, but I've gotten atleast 20 loops (on average about 40 rubbies per loop ), and by now I've learned what will be on track when she is up, and which NPC's will be up if she's not.
After carefully reading all the post about this hoop, I decided to buy a stack of rubies and give it a try. My concern was faction. Nobody has posted anything about it. After zoning into the swamp, I quickly picked up Lynuga on track...she attacked me (Woodelf Ranger) and I ran to zone. I came back, tracked her down again, went around behind her, used "Sneak" and turned in a ruby. It worked, I got one of those weapons that sold or 75pp. I had to wait untill she was stationary (she roams) and do it over and over. If you had an evil aligned friend, he could sell those weapons as you get them because they are all lore. After the 10th try, the hooop droped into my bag. I was VERY jazzed. I tried to equip and, DUH, woodelves cant use. So I gave it to my friend to hold and decided to turn the rest of the rubies to see if I can get another since I was there. Four more rubies and another hoop dropped. I eventually gave them to my guild but I sure wih that could've used one. Bottom line: If your high enough level and have enough money, do it. With Charisma at 95, it cost me 135pp/ruby. Its a very good item and alot of ppl can use it.
For the person that posted about training lynuga for efficiency in turning in the rubies to Lynuga.
I've never tried this but I'm sure this will work. I SELDOM post on here because people will percieve my posts the same way I percieve most peoples, pure crap. The reason that this should work is due to Lynuga's faction. When you kill her it raises your faction with Da Bashers while lowering faction with Broken Skull clan. There are other factions involved but the faction gain with Da Bashers is key to the newb guards of Grobb not assisting her. They obviously don't aggro her because on occasion she will decide to wander past them.
Until this idea I had given up trying for the hoop, now my plans have changed. The reason I gave up is that I've spent about 3k pp giving that B#$%^ rubies. I now kill her every time I see her, after shouting numerous times that she's up.
Bloxr of Arete Invictus on The Nameless Level 45 but by far still a newb as everyone is whether you'd like to admit it or not.
On Xev, Waited in the swamp, killing all no troll NPCs except for the stupid postal bard. No Lynuga. Pulled up my druid to track the NPCs and started killing them left and right! Finaly, checked tracking and woohoo Lynuga spawned! Started giving her rubies and creating new trolls characters to hand the items to (got 6 characters and each has a Midnight Mallet and a Brutechopper) and got 2, count them, TWO Ivandyr's Hoops! Been giving the mallets and choppers to newbie trolls in the area!
Only used 33 rubies at 131pp per rubies (total of 4323pp) and immediately took the druid to GFay around noon and sold one for 5k immediately! I'm going to keep doing this quest and rack up lots of Plat!
BTW, this took about 4 or 5 hours. Could have been quicker if I had brough the druid in the first two hours of the search.
this item is great...if only my barbarian shaman could wear it. if a barbarian can wear it let me know and also if barbarians are kos to Lynuga....thanks
Humans, Erudites, Gnomes, Dark Elfs, Half Elfs, Trolls, Ogres, Iksar
That is from both Allakhazam and Caster's Realm.
When I get this hoop I am definitely going to take a picture of the statistics, submit it to Allakhazam, and pray they put it up since the current picture doesn't show the Iksar race or Gnomes.
Can anyone give us an update on the races that can wear this? I am pretty sure it has been changed, but I don't have the cash available to get me one. (Need about 1k for a sure hoop)
......... and I am hoping that they added BARBARIAN to the race =P
