It's been asked 5 times through this whole thing but yet to be answered... How do you recharge it?? and to sum up for everyone else on PvP not there don't waste your loot, on non-PvP rangers rejoice!!!

so, I take it no one knows if this item is rechargeable... ppl have asked a couple times already, but only replies I see is everyone bragging about how they got one and who can or can't use it instead of looking at the item description. Anyone got the 411 if this can be recharged?

from information i got ingame any item can be recharged by gnome tinkerers.. if they put the item and a mana battery ( the size depends on the item ) into a toolbox and combine it recharges the item. I cant cnfirm this as i havent tried it but hope this helps
Not true. Only the PoSky quest items, and a small number of Tinkered items, can be recharged in this way. MOST Charged items in the game, like this one, are NOT rechargeable.

You can recharge any item.....As long as you sell or a vendor has bought a fully charged item. Then you sell the item that is out of charges to the vendor. And buy back the items and it will be fully charged. 1 Sell fully charged. 2 Sell uncharged. 3 buy em both back and they will both be charged. 4 make sure you have not sold the uncharged one in first. or they will both be uncharged. 5 you will need a mule for lore items or a compadre.

It is no longer possible to have vendors recharge items for you...twas struck with the nerf bat.

I rasn into her today with my level 8 frog. She immediately attacked and wiped me out before I knew what hit. I saw her twice more ( at a distance) near the Upper Guk entrance... usually to the south and east, but near.

"intended for """""races""""" that could be the evil classes" You need to learn to read, and comprehend. There is a diference between EVIL RACES ( hated almost every where ) and evil CLASSES ( tolorated for the most part by there own Race)

They aren't. It's Half elves, though that, too, makes me wonder.
Also, gnomes can be 'evil' clerics and SKs. And it's races that our tolerated by their own race, classes that are hated nearly everywhere.

I noticed that it says this item can be used by shaman, but barbarian is not listed as a useable class. Can anyone comfirm whether or not barbarian shaman can use this item?
Barb shaman cannot. I am surprised Frogs can since it was originally only intended for races that could be the "evil" classes, ie. Necro and SK. But then again, so much has become more Monte Haul than RP so no real surprise. Going to have to try for one for my frog now :-)

My question is this: since the frogloks have taken over Gukta and Innothule has changed drastically, how would one go about getting this? Where has Lynuga gone? Or has the worth of the existing hoops suddenly hit the Plane of Sky?
Lynuga was in zone last night. Being a frog and since she was threatening I decided against talking to her ;)

I see the screenshot stating "MAGIC, LORE", however the site data reads "LORE, NO DROP".

Just a couple words about who can use this item and why. 1: Gnomes can use this. 2: Half-Elves can use this because they can worship Rallos Zek (an evil god). There, questions answered.

It would seem to be that on the Zek servers, the success rate has been severely nerfed. But if you're on a non-Zek server, you still have the same chance. Or at least a better chance than on a Zek server. :-)
Ive heard ( not confirmed personally ) that this item was nerfed on all PvP servers due to the fact it had basically a 900 hp life tap effect that took less than 2 seconds to get off...so you walk up to that twinked out 60 wizard who just soloed some big mob and go up and click the earring 6 times and splat...LOADING PLEASE WAIT.. while you loot the sweetest item off his corpse. The got rid of it AFAIK, so Ivandyrs Hoops with all 6 charges on them on PVP servers that are left probably cost a fortune. Still a VERY nice earring for the effort on non PVP servers tho, especially as a shaman if all 900 hp ( 6 casts x 150hp/cast ) landed, the mob would be down 900 hp and you would have 900 more hp to cannibalize to make the kill or make your escape.
To answer the question, yes, its still drops on blue servers, and not on PvP servers due to it being overpowered for PvP.

The lv 49 necro spell Drain Soul doesn't even do 900 dmg and Spirit Tap is lv 29.

I got one of these last night. I spawned Lynuga by killing everything that moved around Guk entry, including 2 of the Nobles. After about 30 min she spawned at pos 400, neg 482. I handed in gem 1 and got a hammer. the 2nd one gave me nothing--I assumed I got a hammer again and since they are lore It didnt go into inventory--so I ran and sold the hammer at the troll at the stone hand ( pos 1180, pos 540 ) and ran back to Lynuga. I did this until I ran out of gems and when I went back to Grobb to get more ( cant remember merchants name ), I got attacked by guards that werent KoS before. So I zoned back out and invised, ran back to the the merchant. One guard wouldnt leave the area, so I walked to a safe spot and cast root on him, which broke my invis and he came after me. After I had him rooted out of the way I got more gems and gated back to Lynuga. I got the loop and didnt spend as much as the market value in doing so ( around 4k on Luclin server ). Just keep in mind its best to have 2 people doing this, one to do the turn ins and one to sell the hammers/axes and buy more gems--the gems with 136 CHA in Grobb were 131pp and change, and the weapons sell for 70pp each roughly. You will waste troll basher faction but merchants will still deal with you if u need to buy the rubies in Grobb. Finally an upgrade to my Forrest Loops ( to bad IH's are lore ).
By the way, there is no truth to the stories that you have to hand in 4 rubies at a time to get the hoop or give them to her stacked--give her one at a time.

Just something else Ive noticed is that Dark Elf Necromancers seem to have had the best luck. 1 guy handed in 1 ruby and got it. I handed in 2 and got it.. hmm. Just a thought.
Twice is a coincidence. It takes at least three incidents to be a pattern, and many more to test the reliability of that pattern.

This is still dropping. I had 2 rubies on me and saw this gal. Gave her the 1st one and got the axe, gave her the 2nd and bingo! got the hoop.
I remembered reading these posts and equipt my opal encrusted stien which brought my charisma up to 75 (Dark Elf Necro :).. but then who can say if that had anything to do with it at all.
So, still dropping good luck all.

I tried this quest today, and got the normal junk. I also got a message :'Mmm. Ruby!! Me thanks you! Here take this, me got it off dead someone who try take me collection. Me thinks this valuable thing.' I didn't get any item with this message other than faction and a little exp. Anybody know what this is?

as of the June 6 patch, this item was nerfed. It not longer drops, or has been put to a rate that is insane. I went there, and spent over 15 stacks of rubies for one of these. I wanted that effect to save my life, but found, i emptied my bank account. I got friends to try it, people will ally faction, everything. IMO the item has stopped dropping.. and it was such a nice item.

I play on both Rallos Zek and Xegony. I have been looking into these hoops for a long period of time now. I decided to give it a shot. On Xegony, it took a while to find Lynuga up but I got the hoop on my 27th ruby. Rallos Zek, on the other hand, is a different story =(... I used over 275 rubies on this (&#$(&#. After about the 100th ruby my attitude was 'OK, I have gone this far... not going to quit now after putting so much money in...' So, being the rich guy I am, I have(errr HAD) over 125k so I figured I would be able to get it eventually, I used more and more rubies. Around the 200th ruby, I petitioned. I kept on going, and finally gave up when a GM began talking with me. Well, it is confirmed... due to it being overpowered PvP-wise, it has officially been nerfed *cry*.. I wasn't even wanting it for PvP reasons =(

Just figured I'd add something, if you are on Rallos, and you are looking for one of those GODFORSAKENLY TOO COMMON (&#$(#*&$#& axes, then I would suggest doing this quest. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and keep those rubies... add it to your <I'm going to get a horse> fund.
sorry to change the subject, but speaking of horses, how much do they cost? i have heard from a lot of people that they cost over 100,000 pp, but i just wanted to check the prices out of my own newb dreaming, and to my surprise they were less then 87,000pp. would faction have changed the price that much or is that there actual price? and yes, i was looking at the chain (best quality right?) horses
Where to buy a horse?
The cheapest horse is around 8k (with cha buffed). The really nice thing is that 8k gets you 90% of what is useful about a horse. The speed aspect is mostly a red-herring (get yourself 10 sow potions for 1k, and those should last you quite a while). The real benefit for casters is that you are effectively always sitting, but with no agro! I've heard horses described as FT 10 for this very reason!

Saw Lynuga up, was carrying a lot of rubies I was using to make Mistletoe Sickles, and was feeling lucky (had just gotten a nifty new Vengeful Mistmoore Shield - thanks, Grongl!). I decided to drop some rubies on her. Gave her a single ruby - Brutechopper. Gave four more at once, got the mallet (and presumably lost three other items due to their being lore). Another set of four, and got the Hoop. Still feeling lucky, gave another character with me the rubies I had left, they turned in four - another Hoop! So two hoops for only 13 rubies.
Doesn't seem nerfed - just the vagaries of the much maligned RNG. Color me a very lucky (and happy) ogre.

it wasn't june 6, it was a couple days ago, like the 15 16 or something, cause i got one on june 8th, and when i went to get another one, i wasted a good 40k in rubies before i gave up
Decided to try my luck at the quest. Parked my chanter in Innothule by the entrance to Guk with one stack of rubies. Checking periodically, happened to see Lynuga up. Got it on the 19th ruby :)

I obtained this ear hoop last night with my paladin. It dropped off of a mob called "Magicfeather" in North karana, was light blue to a lvl 51 paladin. He also dropped a combine war hammer and a jade ring. pretty hard mob to kill, magc resitance was high, he nuked and hit pretty hard
I'm assuming you mean GrimFeather.. i know he cons light blue to a lvl 52.. but I had no idea that Grim had any spell-casting abilities... you sure you are remembering things correctly?

Magicfeather was a short lived event type thing in NK a while back. I seem to recall something like this name a while back and a guildmate confirmed my suspicion. Kinda like the "swarm queen" in WK who was a short lived blue diamond dropping mob that was an easy kill for one 50+ back when the whole qeynos badge series started. I am still bitter that I never managed to waste that bug....
Do you mean Grimfeather, or was a mob added recently that I'm unaware of? (easily the case, since I haven't been anywhere near NK longer than the 12 minutes it takes to port up to the Nexus in months upon months now) You know, that nasty griff that's faster than sow and hits for ungodly amounts of damage to the poor low to mid levels medding in the guard tower or passing time at the gypsie camp for one reason or another.

Are you kiddin me, a ranger with spirit tap! This is by far my most favorite item in the game to date. Weapon proc's and Tolan stuff be damned. This little item has saved my *** every time Ive used it, and I will be sure always to have one with a charge left in it
