These guys are good kills for raising faction with the Necro guild and the DE Queen in Neriak.
I don't know about the "Incantor" but the "Elementalist" and the "Shapeshifter" will both use a pet in combat. Since they often come to each others aid (and definately will if your HP drops too low) this means you will not face just one caster mob. At a minimum you're looking at 2 mobs, 1 caster type and 1 melee type. Double that if they gang up on you.
I strongly advise that you take them in a group at the lower levels (5-12). You will definately kill them easier and you'll gain the XP bonus along with the faction increase.

Spaced evenly in a big circle around the Wizzie spire in Nektulos are the casters that drop these cloaks. They are "An Arcane Incantor" lvl 3-4, "An Arcane Shapeshifter" 9-11, and "An Arcane Elementalist" lvl 11-12. Good luck.

The Spurned Initiate quest is a relatively simple one, and nice for those just starting Everquest.
Enchanters: at level four you can get these. It may take a little practice at first, but simple after you get the technique down.
You will need:
(-) Mesmerisation
(-) Pendril's Animation
(-) Suffocating Sphere
The follow three spells are helpful, but not absolutely required:
(-) Haze
(-) Enfeeblement
Stand at loc p820 n950 and face south. To your right there should be a tree, and ahead of you is An Arcane Incantator. Also, you probably can't see them, but to her left and in front of her approx. 100 feet each are two An Arcane Elementalist; these are nasty pieces of **** at level four, so you wanna steer clear of them.
If you charge the Incantator where she is, she can't get a head start by nuking you first, but you risk pushing her into either (or both) of the Elementalist's agro ranges--which isn't very hard. However, if you pull her to you, you won't have to worry about that; the best way I've found to do this is mez the Incantator (if you have Enfeeblement, now is the time to use it). Twenty-four seconds later she will come running at you. Sometimes she nukes you first, sometimes she doesn't. Either way you will have pulled her far enough out of the way that yours and your pet's push won't agro the Elementalist.
After pulling the Incantator, cast Suffocating Sphere on her like crazy. Keep an eye on your pet's HP! 'cause once they get low, you need run in and melee the mob--she will agro on to you if you are within her attack range. The timing on this may be difficult because of you and your pets low hps, but with practice it's pretty simple. Good luck, and have fun getting the BDC's!
