Wow nice weapon

This is possibly the best bard weapon in the planes of power expansion. Of course it would come off the avatar of dust which is spawned by the nasty spider ring event.
Bards agro
# Jul 09 2004 at 5:16 AM Rating: Default
Any type of rune generates a bit of agro.. if you are a bard, and have ever had to kite a lot of mobs and have someone tank, the best way to get flawless agro is your shield of songs, song.. Twist this song in while having someone tag from you = in need of a necro/SK/Pally to peel mobs off.. why you might ask? Well because shield of songs is a rune... chain cast it for 4-5 sets and you shouldn't lose agro..
Also when bards were created they were given a lower agro multiplier. Ever try wielding a BoC? friend loaned me his BoC for a fight, and he was using 2 crap weapons and not hitting taunt. Basically I still could not keep agro.

You sure it's not because bard lack double attack?
RE: Bards agro
# Jan 25 2005 at 8:41 PM Rating: Decent
Yes. Bard aggro was reduced across the board a long time ago. The problem was the huge aggro generated by things like AE regen, which heals everyone in a raid.

I can snare, HoS (resist debuf), slow and bellow at a mob while bringing it into camp. A warrior can shoot an arrow and miss and it heads straight for him. Actually, he doesn't even have to do that. If he's still hitting on the last mob it will peal off on him as it passes by.

FYI, bards do get double attack via AAs. Not as good perhaps, but we still get it.
Picture of RSB plz

anyone have a SS of this weapon just curious what it looks like
NOT a Common drop. more like ULTRA rare.
# Mar 04 2004 at 12:38 AM Rating: Default
This is NOT common. Don't know who posted it as common but not a single RSB has dropped on the Lanys server and there are at least 6 Guilds who have done the ring from 2 to 5 times each.
proc
# Mar 03 2004 at 7:58 AM Rating: Decent
This blade procs often, especially with weapon affinity. Generates small amounts of aggro, but that might just be because its 19/19 and not the proc. I've never had aggro issues using it though, and even I did, who cares? RSB is awesome, and if by some chance you stole aggro off anyone, fading memories is just a hotkey away...
#REDACTED, Posted: Feb 20 2004 at 7:34 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Id like to say that i owe a BBB off of Seru, and the rune does create aggro for me. Dont forget you are whacking on a mob with this, not casting the spell alone. It does have same as heal aggro, but its not as huge as a BoC. I.e. Yes it causes some aggro but not tons.
Nice

Nice sword. I love it.

To clarify a bit about all that has been said...

The proc of rune does NOT generate aggro.
No reagents needed.
It procs a lot. :)
RE: Nice
# Dec 10 2003 at 6:40 PM Rating: Default
The proc of rune DOES generate agro, but bards procing weapons get almost no agro (try wielding a BoC, you'll have hard time outtaunting anyone with the proc)

Runes do produce a ******* of agro, 2nd best agro sword pre PoTime is the SEWS, it has the same proc as this blade and has a really big agro (less than BoW for single target agro, but runes produce AE Agro which can be useful in some situations)
Mod %?

2.0, same as storebought lute/mandolin, slightly more than epic.

#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 07 2003 at 1:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Droooooooolllll!! I soo wish my bard was high enough to enter KOW but not quite planar evern...
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 09 2003 at 7:01 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Runes cause little aggro untill Rune 5. Come Rune 5, youre generating as much aggro as 2 cheals. Rune 5 causes massive aggro, rune 3, not so much to make any notice.
RE: Rune Agro from an enchanter
# Oct 15 2003 at 4:08 PM Rating: Default
Untrue, SEWS procs Rune III and it's second only to BoWar in agro, before PoTime and the Darkblade that is
RE: Rune Agro from an enchanter
# Jul 12 2004 at 12:34 PM Rating: Default
actually SEWS is not second to BoWar in aggro, it depends on alot of variables, a Blade of Carnage and a Cord Hilted Spike Driver both get huge amounts of aggro, LDoN weapons with anger 3 get HUGE amounts of aggro, it all depends on your procing rate rune3 is not that great for aggro, but alas this is for a bard thus this whole arguement is pointless, if your a bard and you get this and for some unknown reason you get aggro, try getting spell casting sublety, it helps big time for any class that can get it
proc
# Jan 08 2003 at 11:16 PM Rating: Decent
I'm wondering if it procs multiple times before the DA has been used up does it reset the total or just doesn't overwrite the first Rune till all the DA has been used.
As for taunt, i wouldn't think a beneficial buff of this type would create that much taunt, tho I'm not too conversant with the high end game myself.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 08 2003 at 10:07 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) only problem is the proc is a uber taunt .

Rune only counts has a 'Taunt' if your casting on someone. If you cast it on yourself there is no taunt, it just like any number of weapons out there that buff the user during combat. During combat, this sword will simply put a 230 point shield on the user and generate no taunt (no taunt aside from the fact the bard is whacking away at the mob). Very helpfull on those pesky AE mobs IMHO.

Ratio, stats, proc, and an instrament, all in all a very weapon for any bard to have.
Rune Taunt
# Jan 09 2003 at 5:02 PM Rating: Good
Aargile is correct.

CASTING Rune, especially Rune 5, creates aggro for the caster.

It does not generate additional aggro for the one receiving the rune.

Have someone rune you. Go find a green mob and let it beat on you until it's nearly dead (which, if wearing the rune caused aggro, would have built up a fair amount of hate). Have the other person stab it once. Boom, the other person will have aggro. Why? Beacuse you haven't built any hate with the mob.

Hope that helps,

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 08 2003 at 10:45 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Since when is Rune III an "uber taunt". I've had a Runed Blade (from KC) for a while now, and even when I had it proc'ing almost every other second, I didn't notice any extra taunt. I've used it on raids with no detriment to the MA losing aggro. Rune III is just a damage absorber, nothing more, nothing less. It's not even that great of a damage absorber - 200 or so points, IIRC. (been a while since I've used it - not great with upper level mobs...one hit and it's gone).

As far as I know, no other buff taunts as much as Rune although I don't think it qualifies as an "uber taunt" like Tash or Slow. I can and have drawn aggro from tanks by chaining Rune V (and it has a long cast time too). Refreshing Rune V after I've just lost aggro is a surefire way to lose my Rune again too. Rune III, however, may not taunt as much since it "heals" substantially less damage.

RE: taunt
# Jan 09 2003 at 4:09 AM Rating: Default
I've been summoned and killed by VS because I was chain casting Rune 5 on the main tank. I was shocked at first, but then I figured it was about the same as healing him for X amount of damage. Not arguing one way or the other, but if this proc'd several times in a row, it may generate a bit of agro.

Except you were casting on the MT. If you were casting on anyone that wasn't who he was currently attacking, it wouldn't generate as much aggro.

I can't say for sure about the new items, but none of the old items use regents when they proc. I'd have a hard time believing that this one does.
#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 09 2003 at 12:17 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) that would be super gay if they did..or is it ghey?
