I think this is a better buy, a lot less weight, only 5 less AC and hard to get Disease and Poison resists (and more of them at that). I only got a whole 30 more HPS from the shield vs. the Mandible.

Don't get this thing.Whats so special about it?From what I see you can just get a rusting hero shield dirt cheap around 500pp and it has better stats.Why is everyone running around with this trash?
Just got this in Tactics soloing as a necro its a decent Upgrade from swamp spider, but like other guys said I'd probably hold onto my spider mandible for some raids just because almost same stats and mandible has poison and disease resists alot harder to raise than fire and cold(on shield)
Can't bash with the manidble though; only reason I've passed up on all the ones that dropped and went for an actual shield.
mages can't bash at all, so that doesn't bother me.

No...but you could Slam if someone had cast Illusion Ogre, Troll, or Barbarian on ya. Not that a Mage would be in melee range on a raid or anything, but if you were just messing around and had a fun spirited chanty that gets a kick outta morphing peeps...then you would actually gain the ability to Slam, as it is an inherent ability for those races. It's sort of a fun way to livin up an easy LDON. 8-)

This is incorrect. Illusions do not impart the innate abilities of that race.

get a chanter to cast a barbarian illusion on you and see if you cant make a new SLAM hotkey. Braindead fits.

also, just so you know, ogre illusion also stops you from getting frontal stunned.
Conversely, casting combat illusions (boon of the garou, trickster's, NDT) on a char means they lose their racial abilities - so no Slam for example.

Now, these two shields are both very good, but one is slightly better than the other. I bought the Burnished Kited Shield today in the bazaar for 7,600p (on 7th Hammer) Vs. 12,000p for the Tactician's Bulwark. IMO The Bulwark IS better, but it's only slightly better. For me though, the graphic is a big deal about an item.. so I chose the BKS =P

As a Druid I am looking for more Mana and Wis then any of the other stats, so the Tact would be my choice. I currently use Spamp Spider Mandible, so the look, the Mana, and the Wis are all better IMO
All my resists can use some work, so I am not worried about one vs. the other on saves.

Whorl of Unnatural Forces is in my opinion the best priest shield in the game at the moment.
Yea, assuming you are spending a lot of time in Plane of Time...
Everything coming out of there is fantastic, but as far as a droppable shield, this one is nothing to sneeze at.

Hands down the best shield in the game? Dont kid yourself. Perhaps its a nice droppable shield, but no where near the best shield =P
