which is better
# Sep 03 2004 at 5:25 AM Rating: Decent
What do you guys think is better, this, or Sword of the Bloodsworn? Having had my bloodsworn for so long I was looking for a viable replacement. I figured that this thing would do the trick until I started looking closer. Stats are not as good, Hps are not as good, ratio is the same, and the proc on the Bloodsworn is much better. 75dmg vs 60dmg, plus the stun proc, that actually stuns mobs in BoT, unlike the CHoS. Anyways, just wanna know what you guys thought. Looks like I'll be hanging on to mine for a little while longer
which better?

my 55 ranger has the blackened acrylia blade and a kunzar tu'lal (spelling?)

anyway, i've got one of these in my inventory and i'm wondering if it'll out damage my acrylia blade in my primary hand. it only increases my attack by a couple points, and i lose some stats if i change them out, so i'm sorta curious on whether or not it's worth it.

I'm an idiot nevermind...just too low of lvl.
Aggro?!?
# Feb 23 2004 at 7:14 PM Rating: Default
Some people say this sword sucks for aggro, i think not. Add a 50dd proc aug (namely heated blade from Nro for 40pts.) and this weapon will pull aggro better than a Sword of the Bloodsworn anyday. So if this sword can pull aggro with one of the best aggro weapons in the game, and has higher ratio with better stats for a warrior than most other weapons in its range, why not give it a try before you bash it. Trust me u will like it.

Sword of the Bloodsworn pulls aggro more because of the stun component than the damage. Stun is major aggro, even when resisted or immune; ask a paladin.

Great blade i was on assist on a 4 lvl higher warior
and i took over aggro without taunting.
I was getting comments why i was taunting.
So it can be a dangerous blade.
It got me killed that time.
Dangerous but great.

Bit of advice when being the secondary tank: NEVER use a proc'ing weapon.

When my warrior (Ehud, level 55) isn't the MT, I'll switch to 2HS or maybe to 1HB/Piercing weapons (get in a bit o' practice) - just to prevent exactly what happened to you.

I bought this and a Disembowler for my Ranger and havnt been dissapointed at all. Was wondering tho, does anyone know a better droppable ranger combo? This maindhand is 12/18, offhand effective 15/20. Lemme know opnions on any better droppable ones.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 02 2003 at 10:49 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) upgraded lammy?
RE: improved?
# May 18 2003 at 6:33 AM Rating: Decent
hahaha.. you cant compare something like this with a lammy. lammy is good from 1 to 20, then so/so at low 50s when u get a good damage bonus.. past 55 its really pretty bad because of the low damage. this thing, on the other hand, is usable through lvl 65 without looking like you suck. decent damage (there are better out there, but for droppable its really nice), fast, decent stats, and a small proc just to add that little DPS.

Furthermore I wouldnt give a lammy to an alt until after level 20 where the damage cap is raised.

Your post makes no sense. Considering Lammy is a 9 damage weapon, its output will NEVER be affected by the level caps, even below level 10. You'll get full damage out of a lammy at level ONE.

However, I'm not agreeing with the guy who says its only good til 20. My warrior used one until level 40, when he replaced it with a frostbringer.

LMAO, Lammy only good from 1-20? Please. The Lammy is a wonderful weapon. How old do you need to be to go GET a lammy?

You people who want to twink to the eyeballs and then slam the gear you gave your level 1 twinks when someone is using it at an appropriate level make me sick. It is the reason that so many people have this "my gear is crap" complex because they aren't wearing drops from BoT and other high end pop zones before they get thier surname.

The lammy is a nice weapon, that hasn't changed. It still hits for the same damage and is the same delay and has the same stats and AC as it did when someone DW'ing lammies was considered a god. Yes, there are mobs that are tougher now but the mobs that were in place when the lammy came out are still there giving the same experience.

Actually this weapon really is an upgraded Lammy in that respect. Its too low damage for a level 65. Pretty much anyone who can hunt for this could get:

Skybreaker 13/19 with 75dd proc.
CHSD 13/19 TB Proc.
Greatblade of Storms 14/18, 179dd proc.
BoC 15/20 EB Proc.
etc. etc.

That's why most of these end up in the bazaar.
RE: improved?
# Oct 21 2003 at 7:35 PM Rating: Default
Anyone who can hunt for this weapon can not hunt for BoC. AoW would kick the snot out of good old Elif with both hands behind his back.
RE: improved?
# Jun 29 2004 at 3:29 PM Rating: Default
I don't mean to point out the obvious but since you kick with your FEET, I would imagine having your hands behind your back does little else than effect balance :-)

RE: improved?
# Jun 21 2003 at 4:31 PM Rating: Good
um a 12/18 does not = so so dmg or even average dmg, as a warrior there are 2 things i care about...

1) casters staying alive (clerics, chanter, necros, etc etc...

2) aggro...

things i don't care about

1) pansy angers who say er wait i mean, dmg output, as a warrior i know i can NEVER out dmg a ranger with AM3, EQ + good bow

2) i will never outdmg a monkie....

and my only goal is to

hold aggro... a 12/18 with topped haste and a 60dmg proc ='s me doing a pretty good job of holding aggro...

Well put... As a 63 Warrior, there aren't many things that matter more to me than agro, and HP. Granted, this weapon doesn't have a an impressive amount of HP (8STA and 40HP certainly isn't bad though) but IMO 12/18 + 60DD proc sounds pretty darn good. I currently have a Spiked Velium Mallet in my primary (10/20 + 120ish DD proc) but as soon as I save up a little more cash I'm going to spring for the wind-worn handblade. If I think about it, I'll come back and let you know how I like it.

!! nothing special? plain? This sword looks sweet. So you like what kind of graphic on a weapon? Something like a gimp looking centi LS? The fact that this sword looks somewhat real is a big plus for it. As a warrior I'm tired of having stupid looking weapons, wish more swords looked as nice as this, the blade almost looks like its made of steel and not plastic, its pointy ( unlike alot of round ended swords in EQ wtf? Safety tip?), shiny and proportionate.

Ha look at the Ranger only axes, like the Toxiferious Axe or the Stained Axe of the Scions. They are HUGE, they are bigger than my woodelf Ranger. They would look sweet if they scaled them down oh.. 100% or so.

LOL, here here, Take a look at the Sword of the Bloodsworn some times, damn thing looks like it should be hanging on the wall in a jewelry store, not acting like one of the better aggro weapons in the game.

This is one of them items which was put into PoP and meant as sellable loot more likely than not.

The guilds able to exp farm in BoT most likely have better on their main members for the most part.

Skybreaker comes to mind specifically, pretty easy to obtain 13/19 weapon with a 75dd proc.

Still pretty nice for a level 55 requirement weapon, Im just waiting to see the price tag, with the Ac/Hp/Sta combo on it, and the DD effect this will very likely retail for about 35+kpp
odd names
# Dec 19 2002 at 7:14 PM Rating: Decent
what is weird about most names given to blades, i find, that they give aged names to ubar weapons, well some anyway, like "wind-worn handblade" it sounds worn and used, or old.
RE: odd names
# Dec 19 2002 at 8:20 PM Rating: Default
Seems to me it's worn as in it's seen lots of battles and stuff, and it's stood the test of time. Perhaps the handle or cross-guard is worn, since it's magic maybe it never dulls.
RE: odd names
# Dec 20 2002 at 5:07 AM Rating: Default
Dunno why I'm keeping this chain alive hehe but OK.
Then why is the blade all dinged up in the graphic?
#REDACTED, Posted: Dec 20 2002 at 12:54 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) From all the nicks of heads it's cut off in the thousands of years it's been used. Prolly just need a polishing.
