this has a little use...by little i mean barely noticable...u can equip this on when you are about to sell/buy to/from an npc...it raises the prices you sell for and lowers the prices you buy for....so i guess to those without a lotta cash its helpful...cuz i know it addds up when you need to buy and sells thing a LOT
yes Cha helps with the prices but the bigest use for it is in any charm or mez fomr a enchanter but there is also necro spells of the same line that charm undead the higher your cha the less likely the charm will be resisted or be broken till ti normaly ends and the same for the mez line and i would not doubt there is otehr spell lines that use it that i have not listed
My Dwarf Pally has a 57 Cha. I made a deal with my Guild Leader to supply Peridots for our Clerics (for their Buff spells) in exchange for items like DW Guantlets (A VERY nice deal and much in my favor). In this way, he farms equip while I am out farming plat for Peridots. The lowest price for a peridot is about 11 plat at Cha 105+. I pay at Cha 57 almost 14 plat each. I bought/camped Cha items that raised my Cha to 105 for when I buy and sell. The prices dropped down to the 11 plat price. That was a savings of 21%. Now maybe that may not seem like a lot but when I will be buying Peridots on a regular basis I'll take a 21% cut in price ANY day.
NEVER underestimate what having a nice set of CHA gear can do for you in the shops of Norrath. Want that special item you have been saving for? You might get it sooner if you aren't paying as much in the shops as you have been.
And since you have 2 slots for rings and this sucker is only .1 stone weight it is easy to carry with you while hunting.
There seems to be several cha ceilings that change your selling/buying prices. I tested this with a level one bard (spent 900p for cha gear) and had him at 236 cha. His prices did not seem different from when he had 170ish cha, but were better than 135 cha (if I remember correctly). If you sell alot of stuff carry at least 2 opal encrusted steins, and the kobald jester's crown is good for selling stuff with as well.
Not much use?!?!? Buying and selling is as much a part of the game as XP. Just boosting your charisma a mear 10 points can oftentimes mean a 10% or more price difference - a 20 point boost got my troll SK an extra plat per FS weapon - the CHR gear paid for itself after one weekend and it's been gravy ever since.
