my friend got this for me. we had 25k each to get spent on, and this was the first thing i bought.. dunno bout u peeps, but i got a real good deal. i bought it fro 5k HAHAR. ist wep was shissir knight sword, second shaded blade and now this. ima SK BTW. So after having these fast weapons where do i go from this fine sword that slashes alot? i was always afraid i'd keep saying, well, the ratio is only 5 more than my current weapon..and the damage is 7 more than this one.... so why dont i get it? then i keep getting slower and slower... please, tell me, is the blade of disruption much better than this for a level 42?
hmmm are you serious? You ACTUALLY cant decide whether Blade of Disruption is better than this!? Lemme put it this way... Blade of disruption is the best weapon in the game... ok well not the BEST.. but the best 1hs you can buy for a Shadow knight or Paladin and you can use it ntil level 70.
at level 52 a blade of disruption ratio is a 32/30 and it has good dmg even in the late 20s. Using this on my sk until i can afford a blade of disruption...
I just got mine last week, when i sold someother things. Its a solid blade and i like it alot. The best part is that i bought it for 9k and reading these posts i see that is a pretty good damn deal . thanks good luck getting your own.
I have a general question. I have had this for quite sometime now and love it. I also have the windblade. I was using this and shield when MT for extra AC, and WB when offtanking, but I always felt this with 50 AC shield still outdamage the WB.
My questions; does the higher AC shield cause more damage than 2HS bash?
Does the frequency of hits naturally increase the number of processes. I put the 75HP lifetap augment on this, and have my Pious might up. Because I swing this so many more times, does my number of chances to process also go up. If so, could this make up the difference due to lower damage bonus?
To answer your second question, no, increased frequency of swings will not increase the amount that a weapon procs. For example, a 20 dly weap and a 50 dly weap with the same proc (and proc modifier) will proc on average the same amount per minute.
yes, i never noticed the regular hits,. but crits from bashes, with shield i crit 80-150 on bashes,. with 2hand bash i crit 15-30 or 40,. ALOT mroe damamge from shield definitl
I purchased the first of two on EroMarr server for 15k, seller was asking 18k. I turned around two days later and traded it to a SK for 17k and a Sceptre of Lightening. Took that 17k, banked 5k and used the other 12k to purchase another LoV. So by my count that is 10k out of pocket for a LoV and Sceptre of Lightening.
Pally/SK not being major DPS class and not having greatstaff of four winds or better, needs this. you get a huge hp/ac boost + a classic knight look. Windblade is better dps, but if you need stats then sell the windy and buy Vitality until the no drop boost =)
This weapon isn't much to drool over, especially considering the difficulty of getting it.
Obviously for the prices mentioned in this forum, you've all gone insane. For less than 10k you can get a Blade of Disruption, which has a recommended level 66. But the BoD's ratio will outrun this sword's ratio by level 30. I wouldn't pay 1000pp for this item, unless i was trying to make my trade-mule look cool.
In the event that you are a Paladin Pauper with no money to buy a nice sword with, my advice is get the Jeldorin from Chardok. At least that way you don't have to worry about being Dps and can focus on being a Tank until better comes around. With as often as raids are formed in Chardok, you should be able to jump right in and ask to camp the Battlemaster between Epic spawns.
it has less dps then windblade, but you can equip a shield. Also, in PoP reposte dmg is a pain, so high delay is good ;P.. windblade is better.. especially with bonus and 2h bash aa.
ive always wondered why people say stuff about riposte damage from a pally using a 1hs with a delay of 25+,if riposte damage is such a bad thing why are warriors not worried about it when they are weilding 2 swords with delay of less than 20 each, granted some will say that they can mitigate better, but i dont think they can mitigate that well to take all those extra ripostes and it still be better than a pally taking much fewer from only having 1 with a slower delay....if someone can clear this up some,i would apreciate it
First off, this weapon will never be "way better DPS". The magic damage on this will not factor into damage enough to make it always considered 28dmg, or .89 ratio, it would be "resisted" far too often. A windblade will out dps this one on one easily (better ratio, higher damage bonus), and depending on bash and 2h bash, *may* be matched by this sword and a nice shield.
Secondly, faster weapons don't equal more agro. Agro is dependent on an equation based upon a weapon's potential damage. A great article on the Steel Warrior explains this, though it is a somewhat complicated (but interesting) read: Determining Hate from Weapon Damage (Parses)
The magic damage will not be resisted...because if it is resisted, you don't have a debuffer in your group...and if you don't have a debuffer in your group...you don't have a group...
I have all 5 weapon skills maxed so all my options are open, i am tempted by this blade though already have Blackblade of the Rain for my 1hs which has great stats, though the extra damage and the bonus AC this longblade gives does tempt me to get it. As for 2hs i have used Frostreaver for as long as i can remember and i have 2handed bash AA but now that i have decent 1h i tend to use it more, though there is no way i could say which was more effective
Awesome weapon. Goes for like 12-15k on Saryrn. Guildy gave me one for my 22Sk and even with the level restriction I own with it. Look into one. -Quintes Wavecrasher - 57 Ranger -Roseidon Zek - 22 Shadowknight.
Me wuz keelin en Nadox wid me big brudda Grundir, wen me get a tell frem sumbudy naym Darkelff. Him ask me if me wanna buy dis fer 10k. Me told him me alredy had a 1h dat me dun uze too much, so me not inerestud.
Den he sen me anuder tell sayun he need da muny bad, so me tell him me gib him 9k fer it. He say ok, so me log da mule en da bazaar en buy it frum him.
It nice sword, but me still lik me Windblade, er Marshall's Bladed Staff. Me alzo gots a Diseased Greatstaff en a Windriderz Lantz. Me gots all da toyz fer keelen, cuz me gotz da big bruddas dat make da plats, an now me helpen to gets more lewtz.
Why is it that ogre and troll SK's always talk like that, their intellegence over level 20 is comprable (if not superior) to most of the other classes.
its the mentality of the poster thats in question i think...i dont know why they talk like that,if i see one in game they go on ignore,it hurts too much to try and read garbage speak
I know right? God forbid you roleplay an ogre in a roleplay game.... they may have high (relative) int, still doesnt mean he is an intellectual. An ogre is an ogre no matter how you sugarcoat it, hell, they dont even start out with maxxed common tounge.
It can be placed in secondary slot,at some point is there an AA ability for Pal or SK that allows them to dual weild? if not why have it able to be used in both hands lol just wondering :)
My only complaint with this badass sword is that its looks are more suited for a ranger than a pally or an SK. Its got a leaf inlaid above the hilt with vines going up the blade and the pommel is a freaking acorn!! But the damage and stats rock, and from a distance it looks cool... But that damn acorn. Ahh, oh well.
[:yippee] I frickin love this weapon! I just bought it at Xegony Bazaar for 10k. I'm only lvl 35 so I have to grow into it and only see about half the damage right now but I can already feel the speed on it and it's a lot of fun. I was dissapointed that it's called a "longblade" and it's about the size of a shortsword. I guess I misunderstood that one and thought it was going to be long like my rangers CentiLS. I know I should be using 2hs for my epic but truthfully, I enjoy having a sword and shield combo, it just feels more flexible. And that's me, I like to solo, I like to group, sometimes I tank, sometimes I heal, to me that's what being a Pally is all about, flexibility.
I used to think of keeping with 2HS for the reason of our epic, but in reality, our epic is not good enough to be the reason for using 2HS. There are other very nice 2HS out there, but as I have gotten higher in level, without spending the AA for 2H bash I find myself very happy using a 1h and shield combo. (Currently Adjutant's Saber and Ta Ew(I cant see around this thing) Shield) The best advice for paladins is to keep up both 1h and 2h weapons skills. At my level I havent found a 2hs that will allow me to tank and disrupt spells as well as a 1hs and shield combo.
As a 59 Shadow Knight I have to agree with your advice. Keeping as many weapon stats as possible at a decent skill lvl is the best thing you can do. I've been playing this SK since Kunark and weapons have ebbed and flowed over the years.
Over the years Sony is always trying to get us to use differant weapons. (with SKs it was the MoSS, then pallys got that peircing thing, after that lances got big, I think for awile I even had a dope 2hb, but I cant remember the name)
Now after PoP I'm using a Greenmist (1hs) and Shadowflame (2hs). You just havta remember that at any time some new zone can open that makes that one weapon skill that you never used vital.
I've had this sword now for 3 weeks, and it's hard putting it down for a 2hander. The speed is just incredible. I've usually got a dose of Speed of Vallon, pally haste (Marr spell), and a haste item (only have SCHW), (and when these three are put together, I'm sure almost anything would deal out the damage), but the Longblade just screams...feels like hitting as fast as a ranger or rogue dual-wielding, and the hits are consistent 140's, 120's...
It's nice seeing flurries of hits going on...hitting 8-9 times on a slow'd mob before he gets a hit in, and the screen scrolling with your own hits. That and the ability to hold a good shield make this very DPS effective. I've tried it in duels as well, and much prefer it to a 2hander. I've only seen 3 of these being negotiated on in the bazaar. Mine cost just under 20K, but I've seen one go for 16K, so maybe the price is dropping fast. I've tried quite a few weapons, but never had as much fun as with this one.

For some odd reason...yes, they do stack. Whether or not the haste is stacking, I don't know. I doubt it...but I can't see how they are both sticking.
Valor of Marr only has a 25% haste component. That's it. SoV has +52AGI - +33DEX - +41ATK - 68% Haste.
But both buffs land. It used to matter what order they were cast in, but now I can cast VoM before or after SoV.
Whether this is a bug or not, I have no idea. I also don't parse, because I really don't get that into it, but maybe someone out there has and can say for sure whether or not the 25% VoM is stacking.
No.. it would work like any other haste stacking that monks are so use to. You'd get the fastest haste of the two (not both) and then the combined stat bonuses of the two
