I'd use this on a raid if I wasn't main tanking. Anything to help the MA, be it a Warrior, SK or Pally, keep agro is good. And well...the stats are rather amazing
Dropped off the protect the 2 women trial in HoH, Im a 65bard and keep in bag for when im in mt group dsing and wield it then to keep aggro off me. Otherthan that its just a cool looking toy

This proc is pure aggro abit it is a small jump compared to some of the other weapons out there.... Warrior epic lowers your hate by 400, secter of destruction and blade of carnage drop you 700 points. So just be aware that if your not MA that this proc could steal their show, which may mean an untimely death. Used properly this is a good weapon for any of those listed classes. Now with that out of the way. What does it look like :) ?
If you look at the spell Jolt for rangers, it lowers you on the hate list by 500. Jolt helps rangers live by decreasing their agro. This is not an aggro weapon. I can understand the confusion though. This is a good weapon for those who with to keep the mobs angry at someone else.
He has it right I believe. Think of it like faction hits. When you kill a mob it says "Your faction has been lowered with Coldain"; for example. So the list works backwards, those at the top are safe and those at the bottom are hated the most....hehe, wait thats just like RL!!
Not 100% sure about the background info, but I think it's something like this. They changed their way to list spells on Allakhazam is all. I think it was Lucy that described Agro procs as lowering you on the Hate list from the start, Alla had some items listed based on the Lucy info, but some other items were conflicting. Now it's increase to get agro and decrease to lose it on everything, pure and simple. So this lowers your agro so stuff stops beating on you, to stop the confusion.
Nice weapon, nice stats for the difficulty in obtaining. For a ranger realistically you going to be 62 to 65 before you see this. Worrying about arrgo generation at these levels beyond the occasional jolt means your with a very underequipped tank.
The thing that I really like about this weapon is the look; this thing looks great on a ranger and is a night and day difference between this and the Stained Axe of the Scions.
Perfect weapon for a rnger or bard... they can do damage and not keep aggro in a group.. even though as a Pally I'd like to have it, I'd say it would benefit them more. Pallies usually have to keep aggro, or at a minimum are a secondary tank and need to keep the casters safe..
Only if this weren't lore, then it would be perfect to have a pair of these on a bard. Already have high DEX, so you proc a lot, and bards don't want aggro.
If bards are in a group with a main tank and are getting aggro over a war/sk/pally thats pretty unusual imo. I have a 65 bard and want items with procs that actually hurt the mob in some way, aggro is not really an issue.
what is worse was when i couldnt even evade a pull of mine to use the bs skills when the pally had an uber weap was just to slow and that was before i bought my schw
Outside of PoP, I never get aggro. I retired my Symphonic Saber (which also procs an aggro reducer) because I just didn't need it anymore.
PoP aggro seems to be different. I am certainly not doing any more damage, but the mobs seem to be much more susceptible to proximity aggro. And at 150 - 400 dmg per hit, I don't want to pull aggro even once if I can help it.
I stand at max melee range but still find myself dusting off that old symphonic saber or adding Song of Dawn to my lineup to wipe myself off the hate list.
In dealing with PoP mobs, you're looking more for burst damage than sustained damage. The reason that alot of people, that I have observed, take damage is due to not waiting on tanks to establish aggro. As a rogue, if I wait more than 1 round of combat (1 refresh of taunt for a tank) I am not putting out the damage I need to sustain the necessary DPS for the group. Items like this are beneficial in instances like trials, where crowd control and burst damage are more of a necessity, and perhaps in a high lag raid situation, however, on an average day, I would suspect that most rogues would bag this item, as evade would be fine for managing aggro.
In the case of Rangers/Bards, and I speak from speculation, I could see this being used as an offhand weapon, for the ratio, and the "bonus" of an aggro reducer. Rangers generally do ok with jolt/jolting blades, and bards usually seem to have less concerns with aggro because of their lack of double attack.
Personally, I would probably only use this item on a mob where I was interested in having a couple extra HP, and if there was alot of lag, such that evade is less prone to work each time. Otherwise, this would be a great trophy item for my rallic pack.
Players are alot less talented nowdays. I almost always see shaman slowing on the pulls, DPS melee's jumping on the mob before the MA states to assist.
I haven't played in a couple months now due to some of this (high level noobs and people who just won't listen because their ego is too big to admit they are wrong).
