[Red][/Red]Just wanna point out this is a SUPER-DUPER rare drop and ive NEVER scene it droped before and only known of 1 person on SolRo haveing it *sure thers few more though* anyways, ive led now over 23raids on this guy, and over 7 that i havent led and have yet to see this drop. Just hopeing someday ima c it even though im a grummus obsessed beastlord !
The Two tined pitch fork is a red hering amongst 2 handed weapons, until verants weapon designers take there head out of there asses and remember there own rules on 2h dealy bonuses it will stay so. ny weapon less than 28 delay and 2 handed is not worth using please see the link below for more information that is both detailed and very informative :>)
The pitchfork is still my favorite SK weapon that I can afford. I've got the WideBladed Greadsword and the pickfork as my two main toys. Many times I'm just Duo'n it with my Cleric ... with no haste. The Pickfork's low delay is the only way to go. When I'm MT in exp groups I used the pickfork for it's far better agro. The Wideblade is for raids ... the big hits and crits ... without drawing the agro. I'll probably stay with that combo it I can get my hands on a nice nodrop with ratio similar to this.
Ya this isn't just 2 handed weapons, its all weapons, its why sometimes warriors find using 2handed weapons to be as much damage as 2 one handed weapons, and yet another reason that Pally/SKs get such higher ratio 1handed weapons.
Anyways, I'm not sure but I would guess that this has 1 of the 2 cool looking Graphics, where as Two Twined Pitchfork has a dorky one, and these stats are nice, this is no competition in my mind.
*sighs* I've heard this argument time and again, and yes, it is true that 2 handers with delay lower than 28 take a serious blow to damage bonus, raw ratio can make up for it. Two Tined Corpse Pitchfork actually does rather well. On a parser I was getting around 45 dps with the pitchfork, and 50 with a war marshall's bladed staff with haste. Narandi's lance was less, and so is a widebladed greatsword, although I am not certain of the exact numbers of those two. The best way to figure it out is (dmg*2 + damage bonus)/delay. It's not exactly an ideal weapon, but it is actually not a half bad buy when you consider that it can put out higher DPS than a lot of much more expensive weapons, which means a lot for those who aren't in high end raiding guilds.
untill PoP came out, i NEVER used a piercing weapon. sure shard of night and nirandis lance were ok, but i decided that real SKs were slash n bash only, and that piercing was for rogues.... i was wrong
PoP has included some sick *** piercing weapons, and im all about using them. the two tined "fondu fork" is what i use now, and including dmg bonus its 37dmg 22delay and DROPABLE, which imo makes it far better than the windblade. now if only SoE would include a BackStab AA ability for SKs,,,,

Posted:Jul 22 2003 at 10:39 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) as a paladin i have to watch my arrgo badly. 1 stun and i can take arrgo from a warrior easy. i can do the same with debuffs and slows. and thats only useing holy might mind you. the only classes who can take arrgo from me are SK's and bst....sadly bst have to try inorder to take it from me. in a decent group i'll have focus or hos so i proc a good amount....i always have divine might up (65max attack proc){unless undead then IoN) so theres 1 arrgo upper, then i have my stuns....theres another then on top of that i have my proc from naani's lance. with focus i proc alot and i cast a few stuns (between 5 and 8 per mob) and it gets very hard to take arrgo from me......oh and i NEVER use taunt, for me it doesn't help one bit. when it comes to arrgo warrior's suck at it unless they are given hate adding spells and/or everyone watches thier arrgo.
From my experiences ase a paladin tank, I have gotten into agro battles with pretty much ever class for fun.(SK's, rangers, Enchanters, shams, BST, and wars) Only time I lost that agro contest is when the chanter chain casted Mez on the mob. Every other time I held it, even when sham was chain casting slow. FoA+weakstun+tuant= best agro next to chain castin mez.
So to who ever that jackass rouge is, have fun in the higher game, if and when you get there.

Posted:Feb 05 2003 at 3:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) imho you would be screwed to hell and back a couple times if you could bs with this or any 2hp weapons rogues sepcialise in bsing that is what we get very low damage weapons try this have an epic rogue bs a mob you are tanking and have him use his aa and disc on it if you can lose agro to him then think of what will happen if you could do the same with a weapon that has 2 times the damage you are an sk sorry to break it to ya ya need to be infront i have figured it out the tank order is (by agro alone)
You Idiot, you put pallys at the bottom, and say our spells, which by that i assume you mean stuns, arent good aggro...how long, may i ask, has it been since you took whatever medication you are obviously on? And although i dont, and never have played a ranger, how even in your dilusional state of mind, do you get Monks Out-Aggroing Paladins? also i found a few things you left out of your post " , . , , . ? . ; ! ." Also,im almost positive a monk and cleric couldnt out aggro ANY Knight class if they tried, no idea how these made your list, heh.
By your post I dont think you have ever played a Necro lol. I can get aggro from any class with ONE spell. BTW pallies are my favorite tank because they can let me do MORE dmg because they can hold better aggro than any other class.
For christ's sake, use some punctuation eternalphreak. I get so sick of having to read text that is written by a kindergardener. What did you save, maybe 4 or 5 milliseconds of your life by writing a paragraph of run-on sentences? If you're gonna take the time to post, don't make yourself look like you never took an english class in your life.
Shadow Knights and Paladins can out aggro perty much any other melee. THey have instant taunts. Warriors rely on building aggro, procs, and everyone else watching their aggro.
Rangers also can grab instant aggro.
My list would be Enchanter Shaman Shadow Knights, Paladins, Rangers Warriors Cleric Druid Rogue Monk
Funny, your list doesn't have Beastlords on it, who could out aggro paladin or Sk easily. The biggest taunts especially in PoP are Slows and Debuffs which they both do, as well as nukes, and at 61+ Scorpion Venom is a giant taunt.
OF COURSE no bst, in a group would WANT to pull taunt unless to occasionaly to pull off a caster, however your "complete" list was missing imho the largest taunting class. Ever see a shaman slow then immmediately jump in a melee? bst deal wit that often, wish we had the opposite of a taunt button that we could press to reduce aggro like a rogue.
As a Paladin myself, I know for a fact that our stun line combined with Taunting is easily more aggro than anything else you can throw at a mob. When I chain stun mobs, whether they stick or not, you can rest assured that there is no way I'll be losing it's attention. For the few and far between who can manage to pull a mob away from me, I load up Flash of Light and watch the mob wander aimlessly when it decides to leave my presence. If a Pally knows what he/she's doing, there's no excuse for anyone to get hit besides him/her.
eh, sk can pull just as much agro as pally np, don't have stuns but our DDs are so much better (400hp by the low 50's and can be stacked with another for 260 and lifetap for 150) and we have 2 lines of agro increasing spells, one a long lasting agro multiplier (6% at low 50s) castable on anyone and another a single target instant hate spell (450), not too mention can throw in DoTs, debuffs and snares at the same time to rake in more agro. with a nice weapon sk can hold agro over just bout any melee class without touching his taunt button once.
Just a moot point about sk aggro, We pretty much have 2 spells to do aggro with, 1 is the snare line, the other is the aggro line, the snare generates aggro, and adds to your dps plus the mob is snared so it wont run off and ping pong slowly, the aggro line sucks because thats all it is, aggro, your just payin good mana to move up the list without generating a few other bonus gains from the spell (like say a pallie stunning) it should do something else as well as just move aggro i mean damn.
Ohh yeah the point of the post is our spear lined DDs arent very effective aggro grabbers due to recast time. sure its quick 400 dd or if your wearing your improved dmg items 404-480 but its not the long run of how to maintain generate take aggro. Stun, snare, debuff, slow is the way to get it done.
i think i might agree with ya if i could understand what you weren saying. use punctuation man, the whole text just runs together and confused this already confused enough dorf.
attually sk's can a 55 sk friend did have a battle for aggro the only problem was the mob was dead <having never hit as it was stunned through the entire fight> before we could find a true winner
the moral of this story is whils other classes can take aggro off a pally, when a pally does it the mobs are not hitting back.
and the other thing is why bother knowing that a chain mezzing chanter will get aggro THEY DON'T want aggro fools
so list is as follows
Pally/sk Beasty Ranger the rest Warriors
now this sux something needs to be done for warriors to be able to get aggro as none in any group i am in can ever hold it if i want it
I personally think he forgot enchaters and Shammies...they have a much higher aggro rate than druids. Always find myself taunting like a ******* to keep the aggro off of em.
Actually, number one on the list is necros.. My wife plays a necro, and there are a few things inherent to the class for being the aggro gods. If they use their resistance debuff, it has more aggro than malo and slow combined . . . believe me, I play that SK that gets to tank a lot, I know.. Then add a snare on top of that, by that point they're usually hating the necro more than the chanter that has been resisted on tash three times and slow twice. Then add any of the higher end dots, almost all of which are disease or poison based. The disease or poison resist check adds extra aggro, and something in the way the dots work basically puts all the aggro at the front of the spell. One dot that does 1k of damage generates more aggro than a 1k nuke. And then, after all of that, one nice little lifetap which generates the aggro of both a nuke and a heal, and usually seems to be a little extra just because Verant programers can be asses.. The only way that my wife can manage to not pull aggro is to FD regularly.. But then again, that's why we also tend to kick those few idiot shamans who don't want to cast malo because they're afraid of getting aggro . . . .
Not quite sure what the first guy was smoking when he posted his list, but he's obviously never played a paladin or shadow knight high enough to get his first agro spells. Bottom line is SK's, Rangers, and Pally's own when it comes to drawing agro. Not really gonna focus on the ranger though since he isn't a primary tank. If you're not goofing off and trying to steal agro from the tank so the melees can chase the mob around while the group looses dps, there's no way anyone should draw agro from a SK or Pally that knows how to play their character. And for all those that say I can steal agro anytime I want from a SK or Pally, make sure you tell them that before you do since you're gonna be casting half your mana bar to do it, only fair if they get to use half their mana bar as well.
TTCP is vastly inferior to a windblade. The delay is <28, meaning it does not receive the 2h damage bonus. It will perform about as well as a 1h weapon, but without the benefit of a shield. Unless VI revises the dmg bonus scaling for 2h weapons with <28 delay, the TTCP is not going to be a valid weapon. Somehting like a widebladed greatsword, even with its seemingly inferior ratio, will outdamage it based upon the damage bonus.
It is, infact a very good weapon that does roughly the same damage as a Wideblade.
I use the Pitchfork as my primary weapon when MT. When I am not MT, I switch to my Wideblade as it taunts a lot less than the Pitchfork.
Was grouped with a SK 3 levels higher using a Windblade who had to chain cast to steal aggro from me when I was using the fork.
TTCP may not the best weapon available, but saying that it is not "valid" is a gross exaggeration bordering on idocy. It's better than 99% of the tradeable weapons in EQ.
Is the TTCP a "valid weapon"? Yes, it's a nice weapon that I'm sure many people would like to have.
After 51, Knights gain the advantage of higher damage tables and greater DMG bonus for higher delay 2-handed weapons... and 28 delay is the cutoff, so TTCP becomes increasingly worse as you lvl past 51.
It's like you know everything because of one instance with most likely numerous other factors... ever think about the fact that lower lvl aggro might have been a factor?
An equivalent SK using the same spells will do more DPS/aggro with a Widebladed Greatsword than the TTCP, unless they both have crappy attack rating. Then the trend moves closer to each other... try parsing rather than "assuming"...

But unfortunatly can't have, with this being no drop i seriously doubt that we will be seeing any warriors getting to wield this beaughty any time soon, the ratio alone screams non-duel wielding, not that it would be a bad thing to let a warrior own this awsome peircer it's just pally's and sk's seem to need the extra help in keeping up with the warriors, monks, rangers, and rouges who can all duel wield and who all seem to be getting some dandy primary/secondary weapons out of PoP as well.
As a warrior myself, in my opinion yes it is a nice weapon but what do I need with wis or int unless I am tryin to get skills up on trades. let it benefit those that can use first, Am sure there are more wpns out there that are 2hs that might benefit a war better than that.
Warriors cap at 2hs higher then Pallies and Sks. Does this mean they should get it because they can do more dmg with it? IMO it can be used by those three, each have the right to it. Warriors aren't always main tanks and Luclin taught alot of dual wielders to start getting 2hs up again. I would hold back if a friend that couldn't dual wield wanted it, but its up to the person and guild after all.
I think the point is that because warriors get a chance at all the nice 1handers that drop(btw lot more of them then 2handers), i as a sk might be pissed to have this go to a warrior over a class that mainly uses 2handers.
Im a warrior and I switch off my weapons to keep them all maxed. I would roll on this in a heartbeat....but i would give consideration to the SKs and Pallys. This has an awesome damage/delay ratio and then factor the use of haste items/songs/spell.....this would rock.
HockeySockey, I think you are confused. This is 2h pierce, not piercing. Your post lead me to believe you thought this was just a piercer, it can not be dual wielded.
Nah I get what he was saying, "this ratio screams non-dual wielder" meant that a class that can't dual wield would be first on the priority list, because there are so few weapons for them that are as efficient as this one. He was basically saying that Pallies and SK's should/would get first run at this weapon.
A really sweet item for both Paladins and Shadow Knights (such as myself ). I'll be pushing my guild to do a raid on PoD asap, and I'm sure all of them will be happy with the drops.
