For anyone that has been away from the game for awhile:

At some point over the years this item was changed to be ATTUNEABLE. This means that once equipped the item will become No Drop (meaning you can't trade it anymore). As such unless you happen to be a necromancer I would strongly advise against equipping them if you ever have any aspirations of selling or giving them away. Smiley: wink

So I was logging on my alts today and came to realise that these are now no-trade. It took a couple of zonings for it to show its no-trade tag.

I did NOT receive these gloves from the work around spawn.

Now that there is a new work-around way (a harbinger of Fear) to get this item for the Necro 1.0 Epic, the item received for the work-around is No Trade. I imagine the one that still drops normally is not No Trade, but I just wanted to post the update.

Well late reply but as well know have the work around npc in POF all those campers selling them on Bazaar for insane amounts now just had the bottom fall out of the market. Same goes for most 1.0 epic I.E. work around npc for the drop from Kedge Keep, even though I ran my mage there and found no campers(shock) and managed to Kill Phinny. I bet these days POF and other epic drop zones have far less loot campers thanks to the NPCs that reward needed epic drops.

Why is this even listed on the necro epic item as a drood drop, Droods dont even have to go to PoSky for their epic. Also this is not common as I have not seen this item for under 150K. There are certain people on each server who peracamp the golems and sell these items for big PP and makes it hard for anyone else to get these mobs who would like to finish off their epic.

Now that Plane of Fear is trivial and any one can do it, these are flooding the place left and right. I duo'ed with a warrior to clear entire zone. Then called in a cleric, chanter, zerker, necro. Chanter ran in, took DT after buffage and we killed him before a second DT can happen. From how easy Fear is now that anyone can, would not be surprised if these drop to ~15k plat. They are not rare any more now that fear is a trivial zone for anyone.

Oh how I wish 15k plat was the case. These have been for sale by the same person on Bristlebane for eons for 298k. I have never seen another one for sale. Looks like I am going to have to get these the old fashion way.

Camped Cazic with a friend on/off for 2 months killed him 14 times to finally see it drop after 2 weeks up in bazaar sold it for 322k. Though high i had a few offers for 150k and one offer i turned down day before for 245k, so must not be too common at all. But needed for epic 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 so guess it pays :)

Count so far without drops:

Terror: 8
Dread: 4
Fright: 4
Cazic Thule: 3

This seems to be the only epic 1.0 that you can't DUO (because of death touches on Dread / Fright). And the drop rate is exremely crap. I dont know how many SK / WAR pieces i've seen rott away. Heck i've seen 5 AoN's drop in the above kills!

I've had the idea of selling AoN to buy SBoCT but none are for sale on the BB server.

Let's see here...

Warrior Epic - several DT mobs in PoSky

Shaman Epic - Yep, DT mobs here, too.

Bard - No DT, but you do have to take on Naggy and Vox, which means you can't participate if you're level 53 or higher, meaning they're still RAID mobs, albeit easy encounters.

Druid Epic - You need something from the sixth island in Sky, which means (you guessed it) DT mobs.

Ranger Epic - same as Druid. Yes, the Sky part can be MQ'd, but someone can just HAND you these gloves, so I don't see how it's any different.

Magician Epic - Phinegal Autropos is still at least a group mob, unless you're at least Anguish geared, and maybe not until you're Demiplane geared. And if you are, why the hell would you be doing your epic 1.0?

Rogue Epic - Same as Magician.

Shadowknight Epic - DT mobs here, too.

Wizard Epic - Same as Magician.

Or take on talendor and Gorenaire, both of which are fairly easily soloed, and very easily duoed.

This would be the same Phinigel Autropos that is soloable by a 7k buffed cleric? This mob was one grouped on the progression servers, by level 60 or lower chars in kunark or less armor. I would say "duo-able" is easily done these days.

However, for the Mage 1.0 you do have to get to the 7th Isle of sky for the Crown of Elemental Mastery... and there are definately DT mobs there, as a matter of fact, DT mobs drop the crown.

And then make so many errors in their own post. The first poster did exaggerate saying that this was the ONLY non-duoable epic. However, the response he got from Nyteshade was uncalled for, and incredibly funny in light of the numerous errors it contained.

grip was about drop rate, not killability.

As for your 'phat lewtz l3zer' I have always thought that all non tradeskill'd items should be NO DROP. let people sell crafted items for twinking. ,

One day with EQ's desire to babysit new players to the end game epics will be issued as a starting item, like the lowbie charm. It all started with the giving of 200 sense heading to all so that everyone could have the little arrow on their LoY map instead of just those of us who bothered to raise the skill at an early age.

So get this.. I go up with Guild to PoFear on 3/18/03 (on E-marr server) and as we making our ways to Golems a Blighted Robe drops.. and I'm like "OMG!" cause I was awarded loot rights too it! Woot for me! And then right afterwards the Blighted Boots drop (and rott cause they suck) and then the Blighted Gloves drop (but since I have my Warlock gloves I didn't want), and I am thinking lucky night for guild necros!

So then we down Enraged Golem first, Oil for Wizard epic drops, BOOM, One happy Wizard...

Then we down Dread, 100% WR 10 giant slot bag drops, a Ball of Everliving Golem for warrior epic drops, AND Slime Blood of CT drops! Thats one happy Monk, one happy warrior, and one happy necro (me!)...

So although I am busy doing my jig of 1000 Woots, my guild pulls Fright and he drops Amulet of Nectophilia (or whatever.. the skelly necklace), the Bone-Clasped Girdle dropped, and another Ball of Everliving Golem and then Iksar brat spawns for shaman epic... Thats one happy ranger (necklace), one happy shaman (girdle), another happy warrior and one happy shaman.

So now that we are over loaded with epic drops and good stuff all around we decide to go for a clean sweep of the golems (since CT wasn't up) So here comes Terror... Whats he drop you ask? ANOTHER Ball of Everliving Golem, spawns another iksar brat, the Flute, and get this.. a second Slime Blood! Thats a third happy warrior, second happy shaman, one happy bard, and another necro in utter disbelief! Two in one night WITH the Blighted gloves, and Robe!

I tell ya, Cazic Thule looks out for his necros!

8 epic drops in one fear raid, plus 4 other nice drops from golems, and Blighted loot galor... Needless to say I went around bragging to everyone I knew.... Like I am doing here.. Good Luck all you necros out there... they DO drop, though probably not on E-marr for awhile *snicker* I must say however that I have been on more Fear raids then I want to think about so its not like this was the first time for me.. I have seen 4 skelly necklaces drop, 2 girdles, and 2 WR bags, about 10 iksar brats, 9 balls of everliving golem, and more random mob loot then I care to count... This was the first time I ever saw a slime blood, let alone two in one night... WOOTIES FOR VoE!

On Tarew Marr, however, luck seems to be against us. On the past two Fear raids I've been on, it would appear to the casual observer that the epic drops disappeared. Yesterday we went to Fear and all three golems were up (no CT), so we proceeded to clean up the trash and send these demonic golems back to meet their maker. Not one epic drop from any of them!! 3 of the WR boxes (Darkwood trunk) dropped, and one Bone-clasped Girdle. That's it! =-(

At least the iksar spawned twice, so there was 1 happy shammy and a looted child's tear to MQ.

Congrats on the run of good luck though. Maybe one day we'll be even half as lucky.
