I have researched this quest and used the listed hails stated in the link that was provided. This is a Hoax and the quest does not exist. Amazing some one put that much time into putting all that together. Sad just Sad. And yes I do have the Tome.....
I think what gave it away for me is the first thing on that page is an NPC named "Gehn`Vodka."
Also, the grammar of the dialogue is poor... even SOE isn't that bad.
And the the images are very obviously fake. Look at the images for "Summons Notice" and "Tribunal Seal of Fear" and the picture of the "Thule Assassin." Those were especially obvious.
This doesnt seem to be up to par with other cazic thule drops, although the 100 mana is nice. Still, a chanter with 2 good 1 hand items can get more int and more mana.
Very funny. If anyone didn't understand it was a fake, c'mon, don't be retarded. Look at the quotation mark around the quests. Good job to whoever made this. If you thought this was real, you are more stupid than those guys in NJ who thought that the War of the worlds presentation by Orson Wells was real. I was thinking of making a mock Allakhazam sight. I might put this in it if I make it. Gotta get permision first. /rant off
This is part perhaps a very large and in depth quest on norrath.
By giving this to some dude in HoH, the person will get back a book with a faction modifier.. and guess what? it makes you indifferent to all mobs in Plane of Fear.
This is perhaps one of the biggest things of BS floating around Allakhazam, if you look VERY closely at the pictures, you can see a feutal attempt by someone to photoshop the pictures. And, on the bloodied gloves (non-existant to my knowledge), the background is close to what it should be, and the stats pasted in have a different pattern. I realize that this is an old post, but i am just clarifying for everyone looking at this item. Also, I seriously doubt that on a game with a LANGUAGE filter, that some of this so called "quest" text is very vulgar and innapropriate.
It's a joke, of course -- one that isn't supposed to be believed, especially by the ending. Anyone with half a brain cell would realize it. If they're gullible enough to believe that SoE would make a quest like that, well...
The horror constuct is spawned as a result of handing the completed Phononomicon to the Living Void - a quest that is detailed elsewhere on the site, iirc, but involves acquiring a number of rare drop items from named mobs in various corners of 4c, minitemple, and mud temple. He looks like the dracoliche and is a fairly obnoxious opponent. Don't expect to see too many of these; the drop items are rather hard to actually GET to drop.
As for this particular item ... I don't know what VI's obsession is with giving 2hb weapons to casters. Even with 100 mana on this, a caster would be universally better off with his epic (or any comparable 1h item) in Primary and the Orb of the Infinite Void in offhand. At the level required for the horror construct encounter, those aren't unreasonable items ... maybe that's why this is Untouchable. No one would want to.

ok, if you have to get technical, the tome is on the end of the staff, hense the untouchable part. you can touch the staff, not the tome. and the 21/20 dam/dly would explain why you don't touch it lol
