On this server you cant make mules and twinks (without another account) so the bearskins arent as valuable and bearskin Items are actually usefull. Nobody is going to pay 15-20 plat and especially not 30pp for a dumb bearskin. I wasnt handed all the snakeskin jerkins and velium maces I could use as on other servers, which I find quite refreshing. If you want to do these kinds of quest I would suggest going to the Firiona Vie server make your one character your allowed and have fun.

HQ bearskins go for 30 to 50 pp (depending on the server).
You can make more selling the skins to tailors.

This is good AC for an UN-twinked character at lvl 8. I suggest getting the gloves, then selling any other HQ pelts you get.

As they stated, Bearskin can be easily sold for platinum to get Banded. I have tried this theory, here is what I did with my newbie ranger:
Quested for the Gloves
Sold Gloves and Bought Banded Gloves and Leggings
Quested for the Gloves AGAIN
Sold Gloves and Bought Banded BP and Arms
Quested for Gloves AGAIN
Sold Gloves and Bought Banded Bracers and Boots
Quested for Gloves AGAIN
Sold Gloves and Bought Banded Helm, Collar and Mask
Quested for Gloves AGAIN
Sold Gloves and Bought Banded Cape, Girdle and Mantle

I found myself in good shape, not having to spend any money on my twink and have good AC and basic Stats.
I decided to quest 3 more times, and with the money I bought 2 Cutthroat Igisna Rings and 2 Diamondine Earrings
--------------------------------------------------Now he is level 12, wielding a mainhand FS Long Sword and a FS rapier in his offhand.
He has quested lots and made a big profit and bought some Ivy Etched Armor, and I must tell you. Playing this ranger and questing for these gloves, meeting new people, talking and having the excitement of getting this for my twink...
...It was just plain out fun. It reminded me of my old newbie days. I helped out people by giving some out and made Greater Faydark a better place.
I experienced tons of fights and stopped them, and helped lots of people.
--------------------------------------------------Not only can you make a good profit off of these and get lots of banded and 2 good weapons (better then mine, hehe), you can have fun doing it.
At the time my ranger got the bearskin, I went along with people and we talked, so not only is this a profitable experience, it can be fun too.
So, to all you level 5-12s, do this quest, have some fun and get some good armor!

how come the bear skin boots were all races all class but not the gloves?

Int casters require high manual dexterity to cast spells -- these would be too cumbersome for them.
