Was camping the Lava Elemental today and had one of these drop off a Clockwork. Not sure what number, but probably all on same loot table. btw...He agroed on me so had to kill him. DE Mage.

This is the main ingredient in the Gnome Tinker's recipe for the Thermal Cloak. Was gonna try to skill up making some of these, but looks like I will choose an alternate recipe with easier to obtain items.
My guess it's a semi-rare/rare drop since I've killed these mobs a couple times and only got one Cloak. And my Tinkering's too high to benefit from the try. And I don't think the product is used for anything else.

actually, not sure about it being purchased from vendors, i looted it in Najena off a mage or necro (can't really remember since i was killing both).
also, it has an ac of 2 if i remember correctly. and it's useable by gnomes only, and useable class says none (not sure what it means then...haven't seen a player gnome that was classless, tho i've seen some with no class hehheh).

oops, sorry but i didn't get it in Najena. got it from some gobby in sol a. was farming in both zones in one day, got myself confused LOL. but i know now why it says class: none. it's an ingredient for a tailoring recipe (yeah, i looked it up). now i feel a little dumb...but hope this helps anyone looking this up.
I've seen the Goblin High Shaman (same goblin that drops the Platinum Dragon Totem and the Glowing Stone Band) drop this.
I have no idea what its rarity is.
