I have been killing giants in Permafrost and Everfrost for 8hrs a day for 5 days and I haven't seen this item yet. I don't even ever remember seeing this item before in the past either and I spent a lot of time farming the ice giants on the TLPs.
Is anyone able to confirm that this still drops in 2019?

It still drops. Got it today from a fire giant after a couple of rounds.

Found one today on Mangler and on Test on random fire giant warriors in SolB.

Does it still drop ?? Since permafrost revamp .. its at lest a rare drop in Everfrost and Solusek B .. this is looking like a week + of camping :(

Camped for about 30 minutes in Permafrost with war buddy for epic piece. Had 2 dusts drop, both off regular ice giants.
drop rate is probably about 1 in 40 giants, including 4 named. well at least that is what i have seen so far

Cleared PF camp today, had 3 diamond dust drop, maybe 12 giants total, makes it 25% drop rate. Were camped there for my friend's warrior epic.

This is not part of the VP key however it IS for some super uber quests inside VP. This item is liek the hardest part of many quests that have all other easy items to get...If you see this in the bazaar I would buy it then double the price and you will sell it in a day.

This dropped from a Fire Giant in Nagy's lair for me.

I camped this today in Permafrost. (9/28/04) Mith marr server.
I was lucky and it dropped rather quickly...15 minutes...off of a reg Ice Giant.
This is pricey now in the baz as its for the Gem cutter which is for the new stone cutting in OoW.
It has another use as well in VP key I think...but the augs that can be upgraded w/ the gem cutter is fab.

Just had the Diamond Dust drop off of a standard Ice Giant in Permafrost, so it's not limited to dropping off the Ice Giant Magus' only.

Two friends and I were camping Ice giants last night for a block of permafrost - we got two diamond dusts to drop back to back. I didn't realize how rare they were or I'd have noted which giants they dropped from. We were only in Permafrost for about an hour total.

lol i was clearing the perma giants once now and got 3 blocks of permafrost but no diamonddust .

Does this still drops from giants in everfrost peak?
If it does it has to be the rarest of the rare drops. I camp the EF giants once in a while and have never seen it drop. And after asking the others there they haven't seen any either.
I got the drop off a Fire Giant Warrior in the 4 spawn room before Naggy's lair on Aug 17, 2004. Please add to bestiary loot table for Fire Giants in Nagafens Lair.

ultra rare imo,camped for 10+ hours and got none,could anyone tell me if there's another place to gain the dust?i heard that many mobs in velk drop something like this one,is that the same thing?
Finally i got one after an 8 hours none-stop camping the second day.The magus dropped it.since i only got one ,so i cant tell if only the magus drops this,and now it's the time to exam my gnome friend's luck,hmm,he's not online yet,if he failed his work to make the gem cutter,i do will eat him coz i'm an ogre,god bless me or shall i say zek bless me...

Dropped from an ice giant in PK. Just a normal one, not magus or youth. I'm guessing it drops from any of the ice giants or fire giants in the 2 zones after the patch.

An Ice Giant Youth dropped Diamond Dust this morning 8/11/2004 after patch.
Takes about 20 hours or so to get 1 usually :\.
Most of that time is just waiting on the 5 hour
respawn. The 1 giant (not the diplomat) that can spawn as an ice giant, an ice giant priest, or an ice giant magus: is 24 minute spawn time. This is a very painful camp. With the new VP quest, your gonna want to stay there too or your going to have competition to make it even harder to get for you. (Yes also, only drops off magus giants)

I can confirm that, after 2 clearings of this I luckily had one drop off a Magus. On the plus side I'll probably camp here more often for the dust because someone offered be 80k for a gem cutter. Unfortunately the gem cutter is the only bottleneck of this VP quest. I had thought I was set when I maxxed both factions.
I keep being told they drop off the ice giants in permafrost but I've killed a bunch and so far nothing. If it does indeed drop there for me I will edit a PS onto this post. One thing I can say is that there are many spawns all over the ice giant caves but they have about a 4 hour respawn time. There is the Diplomat spawn that is only 30 minutes and a spawn behind him that is a regular giant or magus or priest that is also 30 minutes. I suspect the diplomat won't drop the dust but maybe the ones behind him will...

I can confirm that Diamond Dust does in fact drop off an Ice Giant Magus.
I went into Permafrost to try for this and killed all the giants except the ones with Vox (who was up and kept banishing me LOL). Like CodeguruX said, the Diplomat and one other one were essentially on a 30 minute timer. I sat there and killed them as the popped for between 4 and 5 hours until the full cave popped again. No drop.
I had a monk friend who was only level 52 come and do the flip-flop and he managed to pull all the ones with Vox out of her cave. Killed them, no drop. Had to log.

I can confirm too from my own experiences and from two friends of mine, that Diamond Dust seems to only drop from an Ice giant Magus. It took me 4 times at clearing the lair (or all the giants on 4-hour spawn timer) before I finally got mine. There are only two giants who respawn on a 30 minute timer, the Ice giant Diplomat, and either an Ice Giant Magus or an Ice Giant Priest. Good luck to all and don't despair, the item(s) is well worth the wait.

I heard Frost Giants in Permafrost rarely drop Diamond Dust.

Can confirm it can drop from the Ice Giants in Permafrost. Got one after killing 8-10.
