I wouldn't say that this helm is rare. I have camped other items I would actually consider rare that have a rarity status of "common" . . . common is what I would apply to this helm.

NOT RARE, i kill 2 in hand room, both drop one
i bought this item for 50pp off a person in the bazaar and found out i cant wear it (im stupid dint check)and sold it back to a merchant for 100pp 
yea i had it planned out the entire time
yea i had it planned out the entire timeas of today, this helm now has a graphic in luclin! at first i thought i had a bug as i once in a while get, so i unequiped reequiped/zoned and such. tried this on two chars on diff servers. same graphic! woohoo! iksars get so jacked on helm graphics. now i dont have to put on a giant warrior helm to have a cool screenshot helm. pink plate on my BL. i love it
ps once saw bug with kylong helm: same helm but dark red. will test this later hope it works. must have helm graphic!!

rare?? nono we just killed 2 of these mobs and both dropped helm

I sell these to the vendor for about 75pp. Was in KC for 2 days for guild VS hunt, and we all looted one in time, and shouted many times about more sitting on the ground. MAYBE once someone got one.
400pp? hehe. Get invis (careful of skels), and run up and sit with the hands group if they don't need em. I bet we let 10 of em rot.

I have one of these for my 15 barb warrior as well as a skull shaped barbute (ac13, 35hp, 10svm). Which one should I use? Should I go for the AC and HP at my level or the big str and agi bonus?

Go with SSB for ac AND stats. 35hp is more important at lvl 15 then the str and agility for a barb, and SSB has more than twice the ac. My troll sk used his SSB until low 40s when I got my BE helm.
Last night the Construct of Sathir dropped this noggin protector for my group. Nobody needed it but we rolled on it anyways. I won, so if anyone on Terris Thule needs it.... Send me a tell.

There I was in Karnor's... doing hands... being lower-level than I should (but that's what clerics do)... anyway this sucka drops... I lose roll to other enchanter (or was it another cleric in the group?) but he already has one and it's lore... shazam major twinkage time!

I bought one the other day, put it on my Iksar shadowknight and.....nothing. The guy i bought it from says its because I have Luclin expansion and it must be a bug because he sees it(He doesnt have expansion yet) Anyone else having this problem?

Not sure if this has been mentioned but some helms dont show using the new Luclin models...unless you switch on animations in your eqclient.ini file (or use the options when you first connect to the patch server).

Looted it in KC off the Construct of Sathir while in a Lcy group, gave it to my Troll Warrior and it looked like silver Banded.. Is there a helm bug? I have since upgraded to a Crustacean Shell Helm and that has no graphic.. =) ?

I also have Luclin, and I bought one this morning for 150pp! When I put it on my Vah Shir warrior.. poof.. nothing.. :(
I do not think they have put in alot of the textures from Kunark and Velious. All Velious armor looks generic generic to me and I have them turned on in my .ini file.

I saw a post on the EQ Developers forum that they know about this bug. There's a conflict between the Velious Armors & the new luclin models. If you want to see the helm, turn off all the new luclin player models.

It is no longer IKS only, I bought one yesterday and my Barb Rogue loves it....Its large races only

How very sad. I liked this item being Iksar only. It made it sorta special.

For warrior anyway. you go to kurn towqer wait one hour or less and kill an odd mole it will drop a pendand that you can use to make the Trooper scale helm 12 ac and 1 less str i think. if you are a iksar warrior then find a med level friend and go kill a mole will cost ya less to.

I just bought one of these for my Shadow Knight for 300pp. This helm rocks in my opinion. So what if it looks a little goofy heh.

what does this look like? on a necro itd be great for a platemail graphic cuz the only other way to get that for a caster is some like 5 k helm or 10k helm or somethin and this is like 500pp instead which could make for some sweet lookin iksar casters.

The helm looks exactly like the Shestar scaled coif. (You see lotsa these on melee types, in FoB.) It is rather cool to see on a necro, simply because everyone is used to seeing the scaled coif. (And frankly, it's the best helm design I've seen for an Iksar. (I've seen the crown of the myrmidon and even that is a poor comparison,, graphically. (Which is not to say the stats aren't entirely drool-worthy.))
What is rather nice about this, is that since it is Iksar only, they go pretty cheaply. Not so good for the seller. Very good for the buyer. Hah!

You can buy the Helm of Rile in cabilis- from a tent vendor -for 9,885 pp.

I think that the only reason the vendor was elling this is because someone sold it to him and they do not usaly have this

this is a great item for iksar, its nice and cheap cause it's iksar only, and it's pretty easy to find cause no one needs it =)
