Yes, they still sell. On Fennin Ro, they sell for around 100pp.
Ok here is the low down (from Magelo) on drop rates for each Othmir type for us tradeskillers/analysts:
warrior: 2393 loots, 12.33% drop rate
pup: 844 loots, 10.78% drop rate
shaman: 1114 loots, 11.49% drop rate
shellfish collector: 871 loots, 12.63% drop rate
Chief Kalan: 76 loots, 6.58% drop rate
Quargy: 71 loots, 9.86% drop rate
Bungry: 74 loots, 13.51% drop rate
This makes for a weighted average of 11.86% if you kill em all each repop.

Othmir Cap : 261 triv, takes 2 furs
Othmir Moccasins : 268 triv, takes 3 furs
Othmir cloak : 295 triv, takes 4 furs
If you keep your Int/Wis at 415 when doing combines it will help a lot for skillups. In any case you will need many of these, and if you take the 11.86% as an average for all Othmir furs you will need to farm the following:
For 50 skillup attempts:
If your skill is below 261: kill 836 othmirs.
If your skill is 261-268: kill 1255 othmirs.
If your skill is 268-295: kill 1673 othmirs.
Dont forget the other stuff for the combine. You will need a similar amount of patterns, threads, and clear mana's, but we usually only consider the hard to get stuff.
Feel free to double check my math if you want to, but this is depressing isn't it?

I have been working on Tailoring for a while now. Used Wyvern and Cobalt Drakes to 252. After 252 Othmir furs are the only thing you can get in any quantity that you can skill with at a reasonable cost up to 295. However you need a lot of furs. To date I have used almost 1000 Othmir Furs to get from 252 to 263. I figure at that rate it will take nearly 4000 furs to get to 295. You can try Holgresh and Velium Hound Fur but looh at the cost of Ditilled and Purified Mana and the cost of Gold and Platinum threads. If you have bought a lot of Plat on the Internet its doable buying large quantities of Othmir Fur, but 4000 X 500Plat = 2,000,000 Plat.

For some reason everyone is buying these up in massive ammounts latly. Selling by the stack for 800p each and people have buyers up that buy them at 3-6 hundred a piece.

OK - here's the lowdown
Othmir fur drops from the warriors, the shamans, the pups, the shellfish collectors, and the named othmirs - in other words, from ALL of them - but the warriors and pups seem to drop it more often than the shamans or named do. I have been farming these for over a week now with good results. For those who are casters and not tanks, stay away from the chief, as he is unrootable and unsnareable - the other named othmirs are no hassle. Best of Luck and godspeed on the tradeskills - I know I am :)

What is the drop rate for this? This seems to be a fast way to get tailoring up to GM, as the recipes only have 3 ingredients. Also, does it drop more often from the higher level Othmirs?

Does anyone know what vendor sells Othmir Fur? Certainly this reference to buying the fur at a vendor only applies to furs sold by players???
Aye, I saw sold at merchants and IMMEDIATELY clicked on this, sometimes Ally is just wrong.
