Gilded Steel Rod  

 

hello everyone,

i just recently obtained the gilded steel rod and thought i would share the spawn cycle to get to the hardened underbulk for you guys. granted that this might not be the same by the time anyone else quests for this piece here is what i have found out.

NOTE: KEEP KILLING UNDERBULKS! DON'T GIVE UP!

named underbulk cycle:

a toughened underbulk
a monsterous underbulk
a swift underbulk
a huge underbulk
a hardened underbulk

i had to kill about 10 - 15 underbulks per named spawn. i saw no real change in difficulty between the named underbulks or normal ones. my group consisted of a lvl 45 ranger and a lvl 45 druid. we had no problem staying alive. the only thing that seemed to be a bit sketchy at times were the rhino beetles that attacked the druid. so we solved that problem by hunting all of the rhino beetles as well. i can say that this piece will take a while to get because the underbulks pop slow. from start to finish it took us approx. 3 hours to get to the hardened underbulk. if you start to get the rod half way through 45 you should be within a blue bubble or two or 46 when you get it. only other thing i can think of is to mention that the underbulks are in the area to the north of the twilight sea that you have to swim through the underwater tunnel to get through.

NOTE AGAIN: i had to kill about 100 underbulks to get the hardened to spawn so if you are serious about getting the rod just stay at it and make sure that you have the time to get it and a good group before you start.
